At a cost of roughly $200 (via AliExpress) for the Red hare vs $245 (after discounted GCs) for ASICS - the premium is probably tolerable for those who would like to test out the shoe/sizing/fit here vs taking a punt on a new brand would be my opinion.
brand new? SB3 would be "brand new" compared to RH9U. Are you affiliated? Please indicate if you are.
Not affiliated. And not 'brand new'. 'New brand' is what I'm saying. Most Australians are probably more familiar with the ASICS brand than they are with Li-Ning.

It is a bit of a punt though, so I do appreciate those who'd rather physically try shoes on, before they buy them.
$100 is a definite steal and I think a lot of people would jump on at that price!

Chinese sizing can be …fickle. Until Li-Ning has stores or able to distribute shoes in physical sporting goods merchants.. I'd pay the premium and go with a shoe that i can try/return.
You can try and return at the comfort of your home. Aliexpress is quite good. Fgs you'd rather buy this overpriced worse version of SB2 that isn't as durable.
Jeez the negs. The bias against Chinese shoes is evident. RH9U is a steal even at 200 but of course I wouldn't pay that price either…
I'm not biased as to where the shoes come from. Most are manufactured in China / VN / India anyway.
I'm more biased in the way the shoe looks for me (and on me), and Asics look better than the Red hare 9 ultra you've mentioned. Of course, your preference for looks is respected.
It's your body, your clothing, your style. I care for the way you look - as much as you care about the way I look (ie. 0%).
Even if the Red hare 9 ultra feel just as good / better than these Asics, I can't get over the appearance of the Red hare 9 ultra's. I also can't try on the Red hares in person
I think the Red Hare is ok but it's not that stable. I find my feet pronate quite a bit in them.
I was in China a couple of weeks ago and got to try RH9, and pretty much all of their running line. I'm not a long distance runner, so no real need for carbon plate (I did buy Challenger 5 special that was on ozbargain last week, only just tried them today).
The one pair of shoes I picked up on and very impressed was Chaoying Pro.

Don't shoes get measured by mileage instead of age or outsole wear?
eg. can't expect the shoe to last 100,000 km in 6 month. Typically 500~800km? Altho with softer soles shoes are getting it's probably on the lower end.

$272 is not a "bargain" for a runner. The $100 - $140 range can get you many top-tier pairs from the most reputable brands.
Asics are the cream that has risen to the top of the market. Yes, they make outstanding shoes. But market demand for their best models, like these, means they have no competitive incentive to offer substantial discounts and can sit on fat margins.
You don't need to pay this much to be a good (and great) runner. I put in 50 - 100km per week in absolutely fantastic premium model runners from New Balance, Saucony, Brooks, and Puma. Their shoes are certainly not inferior to Asics. In fact, I don't want to do my long runs in anything other than NB 1080s or secondly a Saucony Triumph, and I prefer my speed work in a Brooks Ghost or a good Puma Nitro (or MANY others), and I snag them for around the $100 mark by watching out for real bargains.
Some runners (I don't condone this) will smirk a little when they see a recreational runner wearing a premium Asics, in the similar way that a Camry driver will smirk at a Porche driver (or other luxury brand) on a public road with a speed limit. Maybe not as hard as nearly guffawing out loud when seeing a runner wearing ON, but almost…
Do what you want with your money, none of this matters. Just if you are getting into running or getting more serious about it, be reassured to don't have to loosen your purse strings this hard ✌️

Just ordered a pair yesterday off AliExpress. Let's hope they live up to the hype. I'm currently wearing the Superblast 3's which I really rate but I'm all for a cheaper shoe with similar (if not better) performance.
