Big discount on FC26, good price if you wanna bring back those "EA sports, it's in the game" memories.

It's vital game that teaches kids and adults alike the mechanics of gambling with "Soccer" on the side

Probably worth noting EA FC 27 release date is 25 September 2026 (about 3 months away) if you care about getting the latest annual update (but I'd hazard a guess if you did, you wouldn't be waiting 9 months to buy).
That being said, if you're just looking for a new soccer game to play on Steam then it's hard to argue with this price… it was hovering around the $30 mark for a while in the last couple of months but at this price point, I might bite just so I have something to try my Steam Controller and Steam Link on.

There are mods for this one which make the original 3/10 game into a 7/10.
New release EA games tend to suck fat ones for quite some time.
- 2

Ooh, that helps a lot actually. What mods do you recommend?

I used to have a healthy appetite for EA's soccer series. Played numerous Fifa entries from the 90s (including one of the first released on pc) 96, 98 RTWC, 2000, 01, 02 (my fav from the early era), 04, 05, 06, 08, 09, 10 (skipped 11, I have it on xbox but its forever unopened), 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19 and 23.
But even though I spent anywhere from 60 - 300 hours of game time by the time the following years edition released… I just lost the enthusiasm to play the game - I blame EAs over reliance on FUT. Should have enhanced manager mode even more year on year.
That said I'm always curious how the pc release fairs vs the console edition. I recall on the 2010s when they moved to a different game engine, pc was tagged with the "last gen" style versions (think ps3/x360 style) or what Legacy Fifa was on the Switch. But the pc version still domimated thanks to the combination of graphical ooomph and superior frame rate!
I skipped 24 and 25 (after getting Fifa 23 for free with my ps5 console purchase…. and later buying the Xbox version in the height of womens world cup fever). Did have a taste of '26 with it bring one of the free games on PS+ recently. I might purchase 26 through Steam to see the console v pc difference for old times sake.
I replaced my Fifa addiction with a Rocket League one instead…. lol.

For the lay people, they're essentially all the same except you get the addition or removal of teams.
I stopped at FC24.
Some frustrations from memory: For the men's international teams, we don't get Australia, South Korea or Japan (arguably the top 3 in Asia, not in order btw), but you do get the Indian men's team as consolation… Cannot play the women's team against the mens even though they ranked them similarly. The other features were just irrelevant fillers.
It sucks not being able to play your favourite team. EA can suck my footballs. Also, you don't even get the "EA Sports It's in the game" tagline anymore so what's the point.

You have balls on your feet? Bad spawn rng bro.

Not even worth $7

Was about to purchase then I saw "Unsupported" for Steam Deck. How a game this big not having a Verified status is beyond my imagination
Edit: it was due to EA's anti cheat

Was going to do the same! Sad 😢

These games are decent fun at the end of the year. Ultimate team basically gives you 100k packs for completing basic objectives

So by the comments it sounds like this game is not the greatest.
Whats a good football game (old or new) to play casually against each other on a xbox console. (Like "Mario Kart" in soccer). Is this existing?- 0

I played PES 13 and FIFA 15 with my mates every time we went on a group trip. Those are the best of all time.

It's actually very good but it's super popular (I think it's EA's biggest seller every year) and the mechanics change every few yeares so people complain becuase they used to be elite players and suddenly they can't buy a win. You have to adapt to the game… for example, they made build up play more crucial so you can't just whip past the midfield and be in a position to attack the box, you now have to build up the play through the mid like actual football, so of course people complained.
Ironically, I constantly hear people bash a certain version as the worst and then 1 or 2 years go by and those same people talk about how it was the best version of it LOL.

Is it bad I'm still playing FIFA18 Career Mode?
- 0

It's come leaps and bounds since 18

FIFA (or EA FC) is still really the only viable option for football fans. Yes, the FUT mode is their prime focus and the manager career is bland and they removed the epic story mode for some odd reason, but it's actually pretty good if you get into it and I have never spent a cent of any packs or anytime and I'm currently div 4 with 1M coins to spend.
All of us FIFA players, like COD and Battlefield plaers, begrudgingly buy this title every year, complain about how it's the worst one yet, play the hell out of it for the tense competition and rage inducing things EA never bother to fix or fix really late…. rinse, repeat…
- 2

I gave FUT a bash in it's first "era" in 08-09… didn't think much of it then.
Did like the additional be a pro mode (only the old school My Player in NBA 2K and even the be a pro mode in NHL came close to replicating it).
I didn't attempt FUT again until Fifa 17 - I actually did get RIGHT into it, did the pre-order bundle on Xbox…. played it to death, but couldn't re-embrace it again in the other Fifa installments that I played. Couldn't even really stomach online multiplayer, but would still play the occasional vs match with friends locally.I hate how "automated" and scripted the animations still seem to be, I installed it earlier and had a go, I do like the graphics and the smoothness of it compared to the version I played on PS5 recently (144 fps for the win I guess lol).

I hear ya. I completely understand why many folks are over it along with all the other games EA and 2K have ruined.
I just love football and there isn't anything else that compares.
I like playing against my nephews and mates more… What gets my goat is that they put all these silly modes in it but you can't select 2 v 2 friendlies so you can just play 2 mates vs another 2 mates and everyone loved the story mode, they could've done so much with it but no, it's EA and what EA do best is F up games eventually.

I used to play all the fifa games as a kid, Fifa 13-16 were my go-to's.
I picked up FC24 for switch for like $5 and enjoyed it as a casual player. I kicked myself for not buying the last one for $7 so I grabbed this instantly
- 1

What would be the difference?
- 0

Do you difference between fc24 on switch and fc26 on PC?
Game is just barely playable on the switch whereas on PC its visually quite nice and I'm getting 144fps so it's alot more enjoyable to play.
- 1

I'd imagine they'll delist this soon like they have for all the other old titles.
Worth picking up if you play on PC and use mods. But I've hated the formation management in this and FC 25.

What modes are good?
- 0

EA app wont even install and cant play the game
- 0

Grabbed this I usually like playing the the solo career modes, I will say the engine feels VERY different to years previous and is worth a crack if you like those modes.
I steer right away from those Ultimate Team modes, with demands on money in for no real return. Years ago I remember I packed a TOTW Ronaldo, next year back to scratch.
That coupled with the games clear intent to bait you into staying, reports around RNG in online games being more favourable towards the player who spent more etc. It used to be so fun, but like a lot of everything in the world now is purely designed to extract as much $ as it possibly can.- 1

Is this a slot machine with a soccer minigame like the old ones?
