  • I was going to say "this is just the Z2 version", but it does come with free Legion Glasses Gen 2. Good deal.

    • Is the glass good or they just throwing in because it doesn't sell?

      • Just chucking them in. They are fine for free.

The standard Z2 CPU is actually worse performance wise than the Z1E.

If it was the Z2E version on sale at this price I'd buy two.

        • No it's not. The z2 is more efficient but pretty much the same SoC

          • @maverickjohn: Z2 might be comparable, but you can get a Z1E cheaper and should go with that really.

But there are new Intel handhelds about to be released and they look like a massive upgrade even over Z2E chips. So I'd wait for those if you are buying. If they land at about 2,000 -2,200 they are better value as the battery life and performance should be superior (and no heavier apparently)

            • @serpserpserp: Yep I'm waiting for the new Intel handhelds, looks really promising.

              • @maverickjohn: You could be waiting for a while considering the yields of Panther Lake aren't that great so CPUs are in short supply. Handhelds will probably be the last to get the chips after laptops due to it being a niche market.

                • @shellshocked: Yep this is true but I've already held off this far. I can keep holding off

                • @shellshocked: MSI's Claw 8 EX AI+ is supposed to make its debut at USD$1,500 in June.

So not that long to wait. Sounds expensive though

                  • @serpserpserp: A$2749 Source

Definitely not just an impulse fun purchase.

                    • @jace88: Yeah crazy. OneXplayer3 is a lot cheaper and closer to the $2000 mark if you get the 24gb ram, 512g drive version.

                      https://www.indiegogo.com/en/projects/one-netbook/onexplayer…

To be honest, once it gets above $1000 though you have invested so much into it, I figure you might as well go all in. Of course depends on if you can afford it. But much like gaming PC/Laptops, you might WANT to spend 2k max, but to future proof a little bit you often need to spend up to 3k.

              • @maverickjohn: Intel's eternal promise - our NEXT chips will finally catch up to the competition in terms of speed and efficiency

                • @Drj55: I think they caught up this gen of handheld with the MSI 8 ai+
The arc g3 will surpass amds offering.

  • Couldn't have even put the price in the title?

    • nor the store…

    • They are a new member. Good on them for making a post so quickly after joining. Mods will sort out the title.

        • There's also an understanding of being kind to L Platers who make mistakes.

            • @topherboi: So lazy, instead of just buying the deal and keeping to themselves, they took some time out of their day to share.

            • @topherboi: Mate get a life.

        • 100% agree. I can only imagine that the reason they posted so soon after they created their account is that they made the account just to post and have probably lurked without an account previously. There's no way you could look at this site for more than 5 minutes and decide to post a deal without even a price. The submit deal page is so overbearing with how many rules there are and examples of good and bad titles, it's baffling how people just ignore the fundamentals.

    • Silly of you to shame an L Plater when the title on your first post wasn't perfect either.

      • I think we can guess who the 1 neg on your comment is from…

        • Guess again. Although we have different standards for new posters, I completely understand and respect where Nillionaire is coming from so no negs from me. My kind of attitude might dissuade otherwise legitimate deal posters.

  • not Z2 extreme, so its equal to a Z1 E, better to buy a refurb Z1E from Lenovo for half the price

    • There is no Z1E Go 2 and the Go 2 has quite a few advantages over the original (which I have). Especially as Lenovo refuse to sell the new controllers standalone like they do in the US

      • The Z2 APU in this is equivalent in all but name to the Z1E. Sad there is no easy way to pick up the GO2 for the original tho :(

    • You are right, not as good as z2e, however if you compare to the most recent steam deck price hike, this isn't a bad deal.

Remember, some people simply refuse to buy used/refurbished

      • I don't understand why. Most of the time when I ask my friends why they don't even have a reason. Like at least say warranty or something. Secondhand is always going to be the best bargain

        • Doesn't really bother me. The less people that are interested in refurbished/2nd hand means better prices for those that do. Supply and demand

  • Member since 9 mins ago and deal posted 7 mins ago!

    • Legend!

    • Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

      • The title could be better….

      • Didn’t neg you but I think good thing, at least they’re posting something and having a crack, highly unlikely to be sock puppetting if that’s what anyone is implying

        • Yes I was implying that they were unnecessarily implying. It’s impressive how quickly the title police can react and it can be a turn off for genuine new members.

      • We should be nicer to newbies. At least they're not an askhole.

  • Add stuff to title plz

  • Why the title look so plain lol

    • Do you prefer chocolate title?

    • No price etc.

  • tam crisis? Is there now a supply chain issue with Tim Tams? 😱

    • Lots of Tims, not enough Tams

      • I have 8 Tims at work but only 1 Tam……

  • Price in title.

  • unfortunately already have rayneo air 4 pro and msi claw 8. these 1080p AR glasses are pretty redundant when legion go already has an 8.8inch OLED, view angle is awkward and eyes get tired very quickly

id rather trade both for a 3k oled 2in1 laptop, if it goes down to $1500 during eofy

    • Prescription inserts make them so much better. About $75 from AliExpress.

      • Which glasses have prescription inserts? And could you link the aliexpress page

        • RayNeo Air 4 Pro. Same inserts compatible with Air 3S and others. Plenty on AliExpress.

    • Its the weekend. Let the mods have their beauty sleep
They will get to it as soon as their alarms.go off.

      • Oh no I'm not chastising the mods. I'm chastising the poster who has likely been on OzBargain for a long time (hence their willingness to post), seen hundreds or thousands of deals, and then ignored every single part of the posting process to end with up a post titled "Legion go 2".

        • Yeah. Thats fair enough. I know for the few deals ive posted ive heavily scrutinised and read the prompts and instructions.
But ive got such low expectations for people these days very little bothers me when it comes others actions. Im.just like, thats different, and maybe slightly shake my head as i move on to the next interesting or crazy thing.

        • I agree. It's nearly impossible to even post a deal on here without the bot screaming at you to put the price and store in title. OP must have ignored all those warnings and hit post anyway. That isn't behaviour to be excused. Especially when this isn't even actually a good deal.

        • He joined an hour and 12 mins ago…

          • @JownehFixIT: So they randomly found a bargain, looked for a site based in Australia to post it, then joined to post it. No, they've been here a while AND ignored all the posting rules on the post page.

            • @Tacooo: Yeah maybe. How could you definitively know though?

    • Come on, take it easy. Not every post has to be groundbreaking. At least he’s making an effort to share something, which is more than many people here do.

        • My god chill out. Imagine being this butthurt over something this small

          • @KenDiaMoi: Imagine defending laziness, actually I can because it's rampant and normalised.

          • @KenDiaMoi: Oh I'd just woken up from a lovely sleep. I was, and still am, super chilled out. My entire first comment was literally sixteen words and nothing more about it being a shit post. But people defending shit posts on a forum known for moderation and a certain minimum standard is just a contradiction of everything.`

            • @Tacooo: Wow impressive you're able to post a bunch of whiney followup comments while sleeping. Kudos to you

        • I can't imagine how insufferable you are about something even remotely important.

  • OP, price in title please

  • Great first post

  • especially with the tam/storage crisis

Wait… Are we in a Tim Tam crisis too?!

  • Waiting for the new Rog Ally.

  • What's with the extreme basic title? I'm not used to this 😱😱😱

    • Why don't you post some deals yourself as someone that's been here since 2012 before you call out a new member who instantly tried to share something with us? 😱😱😱

  • Not a bad price but the lack of driver support and the upcoming Intel-based handhelds might age this quicker than expected

  • Good deal washes away all posting sins

  • Id get the ally x off marketplace, really not worth 1500$.

I've got ally Z1E, upgraded the memory to 2tb and dual boot bazzite/windows

It was 600$ on marketplace 2 years ago and 300$ to upgrade the card.

It will run pretty much anything the Z2 will.

    • A big benefit is the memory, 16GB split between the GPU and CPU and then shared between the OS and the game is quite tight in 3D titles. If it were true unified memory it would be different but the extra RAM in the Go 2 (and Ally X etc) really does help.

    • lego glass gen2 is $400 at centrecom at the moment,

$1100 for an OLED screen, detachable form factor and 32gb 1tb is a good deal for me, but i dont need the glasses

    • 8.8 inches OLED display is amazing and really worth it

  • Clearly rushing to spread the good word of a deal. Love it

  • Can someone sell me on this? Are people playing on the go or during commute? Because otherwise what's the appeal of this over say a $2K desktop which can do much more powerful gaming or a $1400 MacBook which can go more?

    • I always play my Legion handheld on bed before sleep, with plugged in power. Never on the go because: poor battery life, heavy, noisy fan.

    • I’d like to know this as well.

Also, are the bonus glasses actually usable or just a sad gimmick?

Go for this bundle or wait for steam machine?

    • Just buy a switch lol

    • If you don't have a need to be portable, you don't need this. If you need to be portable around the house - honestly just use steamlink/moonlight on an OLED tablet.

I'm on a dad schedule and bought one so I can game without staying in the cave. I have to be where the kids are playing so main rig is collecting dust.

Tried playing on the go, but didn't like it. Mainly play online shooters (hd2, arc raiders) and it's frustrating playing on a bumpy bus/train ride.

Controller layout has always been a issue for me, hands are too far apart and just feels weird, plus you have to carry the weight of the screen and CPU so you can re-adjust easily or do 1 hand gymnastics for some games.

Only reason I'm keeping mine is because cheatengine doesn't work when your game is being streamed.

  • Got one earlier this year, happy with it.
    Great screen, comfy controllers.
Fairly heavy but okay, and the stand is useful.

Hard to find a 32GB ram device near this, and with Windows options it could work as a decent home pc when plugged in too.

Would recommend, especially with the glasses deal.

  • Oh noes I gotta do a bit of work to save some money :(

[insert snarky comment re post style here]

    The horror!

  • I for one am very proud of the OP.

  • Wtf is wrong with everyone . The only thing that matters is the deal. Stop whinging

    • op didnt list a price or a store

    • The only thing that matters is the deal. Stop whinging

Typical response from a someone who has contributed zero deals in 12 years.

      • The point being , if you discourage people posting deals by criticising them, then they won't.

I'd much rather someone post a genuine bargain with a bad title than not post the deal at all.

        Grow up

  • just ordered thanks

  • I purchased a Lenovo Legion Go S Z2 a few months ago, I didn't like it at all, and now I can't even give it away, waste of money in my opinion, please be careful .

    • I will take it….

    • you can give it to me. Happy to accept it. 😊

    • What wrong with it?

      • I just wanted a simple handheld to play games, mostly use it for emulation, I don't like windows, just my preferences. It looks nice, I would prefer an OLED screen going forward.

        Thanks
