    Activate within 90 days of purchase. Validity starts when eSIM connects to a network at your destination.
    Won't be going overseas till december. So I can activate it now (e.g. add it to my phone) but actual validity starts when I land in one of the countries??

      Hi Iplau, thanks for your interest! When you add it to your phone that counts as an install, not an activation. The activation only happens when you land at your destination and your eSIM will automatically detect the local network there. Unfortunately December is a bit far away outside of that 90 day window for you :(

        Yo I just had a very frustrating experience trying to buy a sim

        Placed an order and was greeted with the message: "Your application is currently under review. Please contact us at 1300 383 588."

        Received an email saying the same thing

        Called and gave out piles of info so that "AJ" could try to find the order - name, "Travel eSIM Order ID", phone number, etc. AJ - who was very patient, I must say - could find no record of it using any of those details. Eventually it was located using the email address to which the eSIM was meant to be sent.

        Not sure why there was an issue with the order to begin with, nor why it couldn't be found using most of my info - but it was VERY frustrating

        Oh also the phone line for the call was rubbish so AJ couldn't hear me very well and I couldn't hear him very well, so there was a whole heap of repeating and still getting stuff wrong…

We make sure customers have unobstructed access to all the apps like Google/Whatsapp/ChatGPT etc by ensuring the IP routing doesn't go through firewalls that block those apps. Our China travel eSIMs route via Singapore and we have returning users and users there right now confirming that those apps are accessible.     Hi Rep, where does you IP exit for EU? Read some stories on internet, not about your product, but generally about poor performance when IP is exiting from a far away location. Denmark in particular if that is relevant. Thanks

      Hi there, the IP exit location for our EU+UK eSIM is managed by the upstream network and can vary, we can't guarantee it will exit in the same country you're physically in. So if you're in Denmark, your IP might show as another European country or potentially outside Europe altogether. Sorry couldn't be more helpful here :(

          That tells you the local carrier your eSIM will connect to in Denmark — 3 (Three Denmark), which is one of the major networks there, so coverage-wise you'll be in good hands. However, the local carrier and the IP exit location are two different things. Your eSIM connects to Three Denmark's towers for signal, but the data traffic may still be routed through a server elsewhere before reaching the internet. So you could be physically on Three Denmark's network but your IP address might show a different country.

Make sure when you install them to your phone that you are connected to internet at the time, we recommend doing it that day before you depart while still connected to Wifi. The activation will happen automatically when you land over there, just give it about a minute to detect and register itself on the network.       In case you haven't noticed, the New Zealand SIM is on Vodafone. There is no Vodafone coverage once you are outside of Queenstown if you are going to south island, like Franz Josef or Doubtful Sound. You need Spark network for those locations.

And yes you can buy now and scan the QR code first to install into your phone. The activation and validity period only starts when you are over there, allow about 1 minute for it to detect the network when you land.           Hi! Great question. Installing an eSIM doesn't activate it, each one only starts when it first connects overseas, so for a longer trip you'd run a couple back to back. One important tip, don't install them all at once, add the next one just before your current plan is about to expire so nothing kicks off early. Our plans run up to 30 days each, so for around 70 days you'd use two or three in a row. Our livechat team at etel.com.au can help map out the best value combo for your dates. ✈️

      Hi cocomelon, for most travellers using our Indonesia travel eSIM, IMEI registration is not required. We have many customers using the service in Indonesia without needing to do that. IMEI registration is typically associated with local Indonesian SIM cards rather than travel eSIMs :)

    Whilst I can purchase another plan once it expires it can be tricky when travelling and much easier just to be able to buy a longer plan.

        Can I buy 2 of the 30 day eSims now & then use them consecutively (eg activate the first one shortly & then activate the 2nd one just before the first one expires)?

        i.e. can I add both esims onto my phone, & choose the first one as default so that it activates when I arrive?
        or will both esims activate the moment I arrive?

          Yes, absolutely :)

          You can purchase two eSIMs and use them one after the other. We would recommend installing the first eSIM only, then installing the second one when you're getting close to using it.

          The reason is that if the second eSIM is accidentally switched on while you're already in Indonesia, it may activate automatically and start its validity period sooner than intended.

    Do you supply a QR code to add these esims to my phone (I use an esim converter so it needs a QR code to install the esim. For example a proprietary app doesn't work).

      Hi again Gaz1, Yes we do supply a QR code via email for all purchases. Once your order is completed, the QR code will be sent to your registered email address and can be used to install the eSIM on compatible devices and eSIM converters that support QR code activation.
