Bosch 18V Professional BITURBO 216mm Mitre Saw GCM 18V-216 D - Skin Only $479 (PowerPass $455) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Bunnings

170

Noticed the Bosch 18V BITURBO 216mm Dual Bevel Mitre Saw (skin only) (GCM 18V-216 D) has dropped to $479 at Bunnings. If you have a PowerPass account, the price drops further to $455.05.

Considering the usual price is $799, this seems like a pretty good deal for anyone looking for a cordless dual bevel saw.

Stock appears to be limited depending on the store.

One thing to note this item does not appear to be eligible for the current Bosch Bunnings redemption offers

I also checked with Total Tools and Sydney Tools to see if they would match the price, but no luck at my local stores. Your experience may vary.

  • Any redemption available on this one?

    • This item does not appear to be eligible for the current Bosch Bunnings redemption offers

  • Can also get 0601B47040 - https://www.bunnings.com.au/products/tools/power-tools/power… - for $584 with price match against Tool Kit Depot (and get battery/charger via redemption) - edit, no redemption of battery via Bunnings , only TKD (so maybe worth $60 extra to shop there?)

  • How should these be secured/mounted? Is there a 'bench' that is best used with these?

    • If you’re poor/frugal, you use it on the ground and you make do.
If you’re fancy (and value your knees and back), you buy a mitre saw stand and a couple of height adjustable rollers for working with long lengths.

    • As below, you're probably looking for a 'mitre saw stand' that provides a stable work height and usually side rollers for longer material.

      Something like this
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-mitre-saw-stand_p6290176
the grey feet with holes on this Bosch saw are bolted to the removable rails on the mitre saw stand and can be left attached so saw can also be used on a bench, the ground or precariously balanced on a wheelie bin, depending on your appetite for risk.

      • Thanks for sharing. Will have a look at the mitre saw stand, hadn't realise they had a specific stands for the mitre saws.

        • You're welcome.

When looking, be aware of the hole spacings of the feet on the saw to ensure the rails can accommodate them (long enough and don't interfere with clamping mechanism).
This is also a 'get what you pay for' scenario - higher spend will get a sturdier stand with better rollers and such but may also be lighter and easier to store; the stand for my saw is seriously overbuilt and so heavy that I often skip it and make do on a bench.

  • Any good impact wrench deal from Bosch ??? I just want 1 with 1/2" or 3/8" to do my tyre rotation every three months

  • Thanks ordered one, now to find a deal on Bosch battery + charger…

    • $179 previously but it's now $199

  • Aslo, to get the full power out of this saw you need a Procore battery that is 5.5ah or larger. The starter kit with 4.0ah will cause the saw to throttle down on power.

I bought a Biturbo circ saw and a 2nd hand battery from cash converters - hopefully works out.
