Best price I could find for EOFY. I was able to price match this with JB HIFI as I wanted it wall mounted. BingLee doesnt seem to do wall mounting.

This 77 and 83 inch model is also known as the C6H overseas. It has the same primary rgb tandem panel as last year's flagship, the G5. If you dont need the anti reflective coating and the slightly boosted brightness of the G6, I would highly recommend this TV.

      Depends on your use. Samsung doesn't support Dolby Vision.

        Playing games on the PC in the Lounge.

        We have a 10 year old Samsung at the moment which i want to upgrade

        The wife watches some TV but shed watch it on a toaster so she doesnt care about the picture really.

              @TomR: No but the 90H has a matte anti reflective coating. Some people dont like it as the colors doesnt pop as much as one without. Check out one in store before you decide. If you are in a light controller room, my recommendation would be to go for the LG.

                @notfrodo: S90H in Australia does get the QD-OLED panel if you prefer this type of oled.

                Took me awhile to work this our as all the reviews mainly USA are using LG W-OLED.

          LG has Dolby vision, Samsung's warranty service is terrible and LG C series oled are brighter than samsung's QD oled's depends on models ofcourse.

              @p3r514n: Yeah they are, the latest gen woled's have caught up with qd oled in terms of color volume, they are also brighter and last longer. Woled's do suffer from text quality, unless you wana use it as a monitor, lf C series is just better for TV's. The samsung qdoled might be better if the prices were cheaper, but they arent.

            @Ryxxi: Ive heard the LG panel is not great with reflections and Rtings says it suffers from stuttering. I think ill have to go and have a look at them

        Horses for courses really. Paper metrics it probably does, but I really struggled to prefer it over the Samsung without the glossy screen. And I was adamant I would go the lg prior to seeing them side by side.

      Samsung killed their oled TVs this gen with the matte finish that ruins the contrast, if you live in uncontrollable lighting sure, otherwise its a POS

          Nothing to argue though, you haven't listed any actual upsides of qdoled compared to the latest woled's. You clearly own a samsung TV and have confirmation bias. I have used both panels and woled edges out unless you wana use it as a monitor. plus samsung warranty is horrid. So fingers crossed you dont need to claim warranty. Not to mention the LG oled are cheaper on edu store.

            @Ryxxi: I bought the 77" S90H, I got it for $3390 through a special deal.
            It's a QD-OLED (55", 65", 77" are), I researched between QD-OLED and WOLED and I decided that QD-OLED is better for myself, I would prefer better colour accuracy than a brighter screen but with slightly washed-out colours (apparently)
            The colours still pop and the Anit-matte finish is awesome for stopping reflections.
            For gaming it peaks at 1500ish Nits.

            I incredibly happy with the TV for the price I got it for.

              @Aliensf: Do you have it in a bright room? I went and looked today and to be honest I think I like the matt coating, id mainly be playing games on it so interested what your experience is playing in a bright room?

                @TomR: It's in my living room which gets really bright by mid-day and afternoon sun. My previous TV would get the reflections from the window, this TV doesn't show anything. I use it for playing games too, Xbox and PC and don't have an issue with it. Reviewers say there will be raised blacks in a bright room, but I think they do their testing with floodlights and not real-world conditions because I cannot see raised blacks.

        Rtings actually has the s90h as a Woled panel this year, but I could still get the S90f which is the QD oled model from last year as well

          It varies by region. There is a bit of panel lottery going on with Samsungs OLED TVs. I believe, Australia gets QD OLED for 77 inch and above. But please do your own research.

              @p3r514n: Ok sweet so the 77" s90H is a QD-OLED in Australia then. I went and had a look today and i actually think i prefer the matte panel regardless although its difficult to really know when you are looking at it in a big shop with weird lighting and the brightness etc up to max.

              The guy in JB said he would go for the LG though so 🤷 it seems like its a bit of personal preference.

              I could reach and get the s95H but then there is the same comparison with the LG G6 so I suppose i just have to make a decision!

                @TomR: The matte panel is needed for QD-OLED to reduce the raised black / slight purple tint blacks when there is strong enough light source. Generally, most people prefer QD-OLED because of the colours. However, I wouldn't rave about matte panel since technically, it is a workaround.

                Every panel type has its pros and cons and getting an objective view is difficult. However, given that it is OZB, normally, for LG C series, one would only buy one at a heavy discount. The LG C6 77 inch this year is tandem OLED, which makes it difficult (getting into a tandem OLED vs QD-OLED discussion is unwise). In the past, LG C series OLED TVs are WOLED. Also, LG put in the same processor as its G series into C series TVs this year.

    I’ve just gone for the Samsung s90h in 83”. After cashback it comes to about 5,100, and then I’m assuming Amex will let me stack their $300 for over 2.5k spend. So all in around 4,800. Similar to the best prices I could wrangle on the c6.

    The matte coating on the Samsung is what pushed me to it over the c6. I get PITA glare from sun reflecting off the neighbours windows, and from what I saw in the stores, the Samsung noticeably handles reflection better than the LG. I really hope it was the right choice, and that I didn’t buy a week or two too early lol.

    This replaces a 10yo Samsung Qled and will be my first ever oled tv. I’m hoping to get at least 10 years from this one too.

      QLED and OLED are vastly different technologies. OLED is way better than most LED technologies. You won't be disappointing!

        I know, and really hope I do appreciate a blowing enormous chunk of my savings on a freaking tv.

        I see lots of comments about oled being not “as bright” but I don’t think I have ever run my Qled above 20% backlight- matter of face, especially at night I find it way too bright (even with the auto dim for ambient light feature).

        Plus I’m hoping the upscaling and ai image enhancing is a significant step forward after 10 years of tech.

        If not, I’ll be just another fool who threw away hard earned cash for nothing lol

          Upscaling and AI can only do so much on an 83" panel, highly recommend feeding it with 4K video if you can. I also use the auto power saving (according to ambient light) feature on my 77" C4, not driving it too hard has the added bonus of making the panel last longer.

          Unfortunately, the 83" panel is not QD-OLED but I'm certain you'll be happy with it either way coming from a QLED.

        What was the big negative for you? How long did you give it a try for?

        I’ve always disliked glossy displays because of reflection handling. Right from my first laptop (compaq e500), I’ve always opted for a matte screen where possible! Which usually put me with a business/enterprise oriented model.

          Dull's the contrast and blacks for me, unless you have a bright room there is literally no reason to have a matte finish. It should be an optional extra imo.

        Hey, my comment was really in support of the great TV and good deal this is. As mentioned, it was ex-display and at a significant discount to this (over 40%) from a major retailer, but obviously the older model. And in response to some of the comments above LG has exceptional warranty and the support was great.

      3 year manufacture warranty, so depending when you got it, may or may not be out of warranty already.
      Excluding that you didn't get extended warranty which on TV's you most certainly should

      It is impossible to find one in Melbourne. Not even open box ones. I checked everywhere and ultimately settled for the c6.

        In Melbourne at the moment and so far found 3, but 2 are displays so zero chance there and one was at $4106 new. Honestly, I should have gotten that, but I didnt. There is still this one here too https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/lg-77-inches-oled-evo-g5-ai-u… but not worth 5k at all.

        I should also mention the lowest g6 at the moment is only $6,200 from what I can find, so nowhere near the good prices yet.

            @notfrodo: That 200km search is broken, for example Search dandenong and it will show in store (one of the stores close to me)

            $4106 was what they tried to price match with what I had here:

            This deal was $3988, but he wouldnt go that low. So best I got was $4106 and I thought nah I want the $3988. That was probably not the best move.

            Anyway….

            $6200 for the g6 atm, but I am sure it will also drop to sub $4000 in less than a year too.

    I just went with the 65" Samsung S90H. The matte screen was the biggest reason for me as it removes most of that that nasty glare in my bright room. Definitely worth comparing them in-store if you plan to purchase…

    Just a heads up I order the LG C6 77" 8 days ago from the LG store and was told in will be delivered this Friday 26th Jun. Got a message today saying delivery will now be another week. I live in Canberra so its not like I am way out in the sticks someplace. Anyway cancelled the order and will pick one up locally on the weekend. Just hoping JB or one of the others have the deal for around 3300 again.
