  • It kills me a little that this phone has 7% thinner bezels and is the exact same phone as the 9a, and essentially 2x the price.

    • Just wondering how you work that out? At JB, the 9a is $597 while the 10a is $649 (similarly specced phone - 128GB) so the 10a is only $50 more. Am I missing something?

      • Ozbargainers always talk ATL and have time machine to go back time.

        • Im waiting for the time machine to go on special

        • Best deal .. $499 for 256GB for a phone that is 95% similar to the 10A

      • up until 3 days ago, the 9a was $399 from Amaysim. was on sale for 65 days. Now everyone is coming out saying 'time machine' lol

        • Ah, OK, thanks. They still list at that price but all colours are showing out of stock. And required purchasing a plan. But still, a great price.

          • @carmar: Yeah, people figured out (like myself) that you buy a $10 sim, buy the phone and throw away the sim, makes it an awesome deal..

Fingers crossed it comes back into stock

            • @Mortgagetightass: I have an existing annual plan with Amaysim and was able to buy the pixel 9a for $399 without the Sim.

    • I used to upgrade every year, then I moved to every two years because every year I would get a new phone and it felt the same. When I went from Pixel 6 Pro (or whatever it was called) to Pixel 8 Pro again I felt like I still had the same phone. This time I'm waiting three years, let's see if i notice any difference going from the 8 Pro to the 11 Pro lol.

      • I'd say 3-4 years is when things get quite noticeable. Turns out that was the typical software support timeframe.

        • My mum has a 10 pro and when I use if for 10 seconds or whatever I do feel like it's slightly smoother and the screen is a little more bright or crisp or something. Not worth dropping so many hundred to upgrade though.

      • That's what i do with Samsung phones now. Nothing worth upgrading to even after 3 years

      • 3 years for me. Went from 3 to 5 (only because I smashed my 3 accidental) to 8 and am now waiting on 11. Haven't missed anything.

      • I miss my PIxel 6 Pro, it died unexpectedly and I bought a Pixel 10 which feels cheaper, with a worse camera. No deals at the time, so I paid retail which made the whole situation even worse lol

        • I'm surprised Pixel 10 would have a worse camera, or is it because it's not the pro version?

          • @bleeder: I bought the 10 Pro, I think its because of the AI post processing

    • the camera bump is actually flush and the radius on the corners are slightly thinner to now be tangential with the radius of the phone's edge…

not worth the extra price alone but they are still changes.

I'm just waiting for Qi2 / pixlesnap. maybe the 11a will add this.

  • Only 8GB RAM.

    • 8gb is fine. 9a is my current daily driver. Also 8gb.

Unless you're some sort of power user or some mobile game requires more, specs really matter so much less in 2026.

Most phones really do just feel and perform the same if you take away benchmarks. If you need specific specs, then you're not the market for this phone.

  • Considering I paid the same price for a 4a 5 years ago this is not a bad price at all.

  • Kind of tossing between this and Xiaomi 17T 256 on Amazon for $747. 17T pro probably makes more sense at this price point and I just regret I was too slow to get 9a from Amaysim for $399

    • You can get the 17T 512GB with headphones and a powerbank for 799 at xiaomi direct. Collect the $200 discount voucher on the site.

      • 17T already listed as $799 512GB at 256GB price with bonus travel pack.

Is it possible to collect extra $200 discount voucher?

  • Waiting for another cracker deal on 9 or 10

  • Want to buy a phone very soon. Wondering which one is the best one for now . I get to salary active the phone pretax so it’s a good deal for us . Is there any jb hifi deal like earlier with gift cards that gets you a phone for basically not much .. looking for flagship phones

    • Google Pixel 9XL $897.84 is a pretty good deal. Add another ~$250 if you want 256Gb.

      • Just saw the ultra Harvey Norman deal! Fits perfectly!

  • Waiting for a trade in bonus deal…

  • If you can price match with TGG, they will just deduct the gift card amount to the price for you.
