      My s23u broke so I bought it, was not happy initially due to lag while using navigation, but later battery impressed me, camera is also decent in good light. Now it's hard to replace it, I also bought s26u to replace it. Lol there's no reason to replace it. I ended up carrying two phones.

        Photos on S20FE were slightly more detailed. Video stabilization was better too. There is always a lag when android auto is connected and I am doing something on phone. I am not heavy multimedia user so this doesn't affect me

        2. Phone was getting hot after video playbacks or surfing Facebook and that worsen battery discharge.
          This phone doesn't get hot at all on similar usage and has almost 2x screen on time.

      Same, had mine about 6 months or so and love it. You're right that it's a beast. Having come from a long line of Motos (most recently Moto G31) this is easily the best I've ever had. 6 months in and some days I still have ~80% battery at the end of the day. Very rare that I've had less than 50% left at the end of the day unless I didn't charge it over night.

      Logged onto just to ditto your appreciation. Been working in telco for over 10 years, I had a Galaxy Fold Z4 refuse to hold more than 1% charge after 3 years. Nobody was willing to fix it because they said it's beyond economic repair.

      Didn't want to spend more than I got selling the Z4 for parts, so I got this after searching and waiting. I can't recall being this impressed by a phone for this price in a long time.

      Migrating from the Z4, I genuinely don't feel like I've downgraded performance wise for my needs. It's snappy, has the fluid framerate and losing out on the camera was offset with insane battery performance.

      I got a G86 Power in the deal from the good guys early this year and thought it was really good value and

      as quick if not smoother than my daily Pixel 7. Needed another low cost phone for hotspot/gps etc

      so last week got a G56 for below $188 delivered after cashback again from the good guys, and although

      decent enough I think for the extra $50 or so for the G86 tomorrow that is well worth it and regret not waiting.

    I don't count E SIM as DUAL SIM. It becomes an issue if your carrier still doesn't do them. Should always be listed as one physical SIM + E-SIM.

        Thanks for finding this info. In which case it may be possibly to use the new Trend Micro licence to extend the duration of the existing one. Also makes me wonder about the extra licence that some people received on a physical receipt when they picked up the G56 from the previous deal ..

        Edit: Seems you might end up activating a new subscription rather than extending the existing, which would not be ideal. Going to do more research, but if someone knows something about this, would appreciate the clarification.

    Sooo tempted by this. Just wondering what I would do with another Trend Micro licence, as I bought the G56 for my old man and am awaiting the cashback from that. Don't need any more Trend Micro coverage, but would need to activate this code as well to claim the $40. Could gift it to friends or family, I suppose. Or even forgo the cashback and hold on to the code for renewal purposes (though that doesn't seem to be in the Ozbargain spirit…)

    Edit: Is the Bing Lee website playing up for anyone else? Getting a lot of "Unable to load your order" errors.

    own one, It's a great phone, though I'll add some negative points for balance,

    case that it comes with is 'loose' and it's difficult to source good 3rd party options
    no wireless charging
    heavy in the pocket

    loudest complaint I read before buying was the android update schedule which turned out to be a non issue as it has 16 now and will get 17.

      198 grams is ok for a 6.67 inch phone with a very large battery. Wireless charging is not expected at this sub $300 price.

        Absolutely, though weight is frequently overlooked as a spec, and is exceptional for this phone, so worth mentioning.

        well, you'd expect wireless as a feature for the quoted rrp at $499.

        though, I paid only $227 (GG) and never thought I was getting a $500 phone, it's a $350 phone.

            @johnjones8: Yes there is sometimes. Its not a flagship so its not going to run as smooth as one. Little lags and freezes happen here and there. I got it when it first released & actually had a faulty one because it didnt charge at all. So got a refund. Its a good media phone. With bright, big screen and long battery. So if you watch a lot of youtube or videos then its perfect

        I try with other browsers and C&C but it's not working. It work once but revert back to $297 when choosing payment. After talking to CS, they said it won't work with backorder even if they have in stock in some store.

        I've been using the G86 Power since late last year and it's a great phone. I've also used a G54 previously and it's a worthwhile upgrade… much better battery life, faster, better selfie camera, higher res screen etc.

        Obviously, people's usage will vary, but FWIW I've never run out of battery since I started using this phone.

    G86 is a generally regarded as a basic phone with great battery - android 16 is last official release, with several years of security updates.

      I had Motorola G75 before this and being completely honest, I couldn't tell the differences between teh Andriod versions. Felt the exact same for me.

      As long as the security updates keep coming, I was fine with that.

    Bought this a few weeks ago to replaced my smashed pixel 7 pro.
    Pros: Incredible battery life - absolute gamechanger, never need my powerbank anymore. Cheap, pretty light and thin; feels really nice caseless.
    Cons: Bloatware. Cameras acceptable but nowhere near as good as a pixel - I miss the 5x telephoto on the P7P. For some reason, very unreliable notifications/lock screen. Poor future updates.
    Overall brilliant value for money

      You need to turn off data saver for all the apps you want instant notifications for. It's a weird workaround, but it works.

      For the bloat, there's a moto app that keeps installing them that needs to be disabled. A quick google search will tell you which one.
