  • Can't believe a brand new C series LG OLED model is this low already for a 77-inch. I picked up my LG G5 77-inch last year for $4,300 and very happy with it :)

    • It's great that you're happy with it but I would be pretty annoyed personally considering this uses the same Tandem WOLED panel found in the G Series…for $1k less.

      • Same tandem OLED yes but not quite as bright as the G5 thanks to its superior heat dissipation and higher power budget. Plus, I prefer the build quality and all slim design of the G5 over the C series. I also got it at that price just a month after it launched so have had a whole 12 months to enjoy it. With all that said, if I was in the market for another TV, I would swoop this one up at this price

        • That's true, the G Series can sustain peak brightness for longer thanks to the heat sink.

  • Really good price. Nice to see the oleds dropping price. I remember seeing the c1s for $5k and that was a good price then for everyone a few years ago.

Then everyone saying the c3,c4s for 4k were good.

Now c5 and c6 for around low 3k are what we are seeing more of.

    I wonder…in a few years will we see a 77 c8 for something like 2.7k?

    • And when you account for 5% inflation every year, it's way way cheaper.

Same deal for cars. A 40k commodore would be 70k in todays money.

  • Great Price!!!

  • Picked up my C1 65 5 years ago for $3.5k lol. Inflation seems to have missed TVs.

    • Yeah OLED was all the rage, but then mini led seems to be “good enough” for enough mainstream buyers that they are now struggling to shift oleds. Hence the big boost in OLED brightness lately and sharp price drops. I think burn-in paranoia is also a real hurdle to sales.

      • Another answer is…more ads.

        • Just turn the ads off, simple. Takes 30 secs to do so

      • That’s a very good point.

  • $5,450 for the 83" is a little tempting too, although prefer to hit $5k for hit so may need to wait longer

    • 83 is absolutely not worth more than $500 over the 77. There’s some pic floating around Reddit showing the 65, 77 and 83 all on one wall. You can barely see the diff between 83 and 77. If you need bigger than 77, you best go for 96+. But I prefer to pull the couch closer and stick with 77 oled.

    • waste of money bro.

    • I spent the extra for the 83". I think it was worth it.

  • This or Samsung 77" OLED S90H QA77S90HAWXXY ? Hmm any suggestions guys?

    • Obviously the LG unless you dont want any reflections. Actually this one, if you compare peak brightness this one is more than double that of S90H.

      • But is peak brightness really relevant in the real world?

    • This model uses the Tandem WOLED panel found in the G Series. Obviously, this is better than the S90H.

  • Holy crap this is a good deal. They must be really struggling to shift oleds vs mini led. Well that’s great for those of us who can’t stand mini led and will always pay more for OLED!

    • I'm tossing up between the two, why can't you stand mini LED (genuine question)?

      • I have seen both in the store (best way to confirm for yourself) honestly mini led isnt bad, but OLED does look better. The c8k is still a very nice TV, just the colours dont pop as much

        • Have you seen the Bravia 9 II? It’s supposed to be the closest LED to OLED ever.

      • Mini led looks great in store, just at home in dark scenes in a dark room, you’ll see purple blooming around brighter areas, if not sitting front-on to the tv. It just ruins the immersion for me. Some people don’t care. If you find you need larger than 77 for whatever reason (eg seeing it from a long way away in open plan kitchen), and you’re in a bright room or usually watch with some lamps on, then mini led is less of an issue.

        • Facts. Whilst RGB LED has improved on blooming, it’s still noticeable no matter how hard they try.

          Nek minnit…

          Micro LED entered the chat.

    • End of financial year. No one wants mini led.

      • I wouldn’t write it off. The Bravia 9 II is next level.

  • For some one who is in the same shoes as me if this or S90H ? Through JB 15% off you can get S90H for $3,410.55 incl shipping !

    • This one has tandem panel and its just better. 2k nits vs 900 on the samsung.

    • Rtings released just this comparison today. Based on your usecase, it can go either way but I would still lean towards the C6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6Fni6fX4DI

        • That's a good pick up, the 77 was usually woled in australia but that seems to have changed this year. Might be worth seeing the difference in store.

          • @razdi: Take 2: I was editing when you replied.

This review does not apply to our market. The S90H is WOLED overseas whereas in Australia, 3 sizes are QD-OLED (55/65/77). If you're looking at 55 or 65", the S90H is better. If you're looking at 77" however, then the C6 is better as it uses the Tandem WOLED found in the G Series. I can't believe how unbelievably confusing it is this year and people who aren't aware of this are bound to make a mistake purchasing an inferior model.

            • @p3r514n: The deal is for 77inch c6, hence the recommendation over the samsung.

            • @p3r514n: Sir I’m going to do absolutely zero research myself and trust in what you said.
              Ordering the 77” LG 🫡

    • This model uses the Tandem WOLED panel found in the G Series. Obviously, this is better than the S90H.

      • I wouldn't say this is better than the S90H, it should be more like a matter of choice between matte vs glossy.

Because we don't have a review on QD-OLED S90H, it is very hard to say the C6 is subjectively better. Samsung very often reuses their last year panel for the S90 line up (happened with S90F and S90C), a close comparison would likely be S90H with S95F panel (doesn't even need to remove matte coating here, S90H is matte anyway) vs C6, each has their own strength.

I still prefer the color gamut of QD-OLED and for gaming, S90H is just better. Strongly recommend to go to display store to see for yourself

        • I suppose it’s horses for courses. Give me the higher sustained peak brightness of the Tandem WOLED any day over the higher colour gamut of a QD-OLED. Mind you, this is coming from someone who sold a G5 a got a Bravia 8 II. In hindsight, it was a mistake. The Bravia 8 II is way too dim for my bright bedroom.

          • @p3r514n: Are you also the guy on Whirlpool who said you're with Team QD-OLED and the G5 has nothing on your Bravia 8 II? I find it interesting you raise different opinions in different forums.

Anyway, a bedroom isn't supposed to be very bright. I agree LG and Samsung (WOLED vs. QD-OLED) have different pros and cons, but they might not be that considerable, peak brightness, for example, just turn down the blinds.

            • @Elquines: I'm not a fanboy, that's why I keep my opinions open instead of spreading comments like X is better than Y. When it comes to TV's, there is no perfect TV. I don't believe I have spoken any differently on Whirlpool. Both have their pro's and con's. I am absolutely team QD-OLED, but I'm not going to pretend like it's better than Tandem WOLED just because I own QD-OLED panels. When it comes down to picture accuracy per creators intent, the G5 has nothing on the Bravia 8 II, but for a bright environment, the G5 is simply superior. That's why I say there is no perfect TV. Would I buy a G6 if I needed a TV? Absolutely. I have reviewed some of my comments on Whirlpool and agree with you, some of them were contradicting OzBargain so I have edited them accordingly. Thank you for raising this to my attention.

  • Tempting upgrade for my 77" C1 but nooo must resist.

    • C1 still goes hard. Only reason to upgrade is if the max brightness is too low that it bugs you. Otherwise the C1 is legendary. Examine the edges for dead pixels. Mine developed some, always around the edges for some reason, and LG tech said they will replace panels no dramas up to 5 years from purchase if you mention consumer law in repair request. After that you have to twist their arm to honour at 6-8 years I guess.

  • Nice, cheaper than edu store as well.

  • Waiting for a good deal for a 42 inch, happy to go C5 too.

  • According to Rtings it can hit 2000nits peak. Compared to Samsung S90H's measly 900nits.. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/s90h-oled

    • The S90H you are referring to is based on the overseas model which uses LG's regular WOLED panel. In Australia, 3 of our sizes (55/65/77) are QD-OLED and does not reflect that review.

      • what is the peak brightness on these qdoled panels though ?

        • That's exactly the problem, we have no way of knowing until a local reviewer tests it.

  • Visited TGG and picked this up for 3322.20 which included delivery and wall mount.

    • Did you 15% store credit too?

      • That's with the 15% applied. Wall mount was expensive given the size.

    • @XW8200SG, any screenshot of the receipt possible please?

      • They bungled the delivery scheduled for today. After complaining they refunded the $400 delivery / install / wall mount fee. Bargain!

  • No delivery to Adelaide, guess i'll go with the good guys instead

  • QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE FOR THOSE CROSS-SHOPPING TO AVOID CONFUSION.

    S90H
    QD-OLED: 55/65/77
    WOLED: 42/48/83

    S95H
    QD-OLED: 55/65
    WOLED: 77
    TANDEM WOLED: 83

    C6
    WOLED: 55/65
    TANDEM WOLED: 48/77/83

    • Tandem panel =best quality for people who dont know, the 77inch and 83 inch can hit 2k nits peak.

      • Agree. As much as I'm a sucker for QD-OLED, it's simply no match for Tandem WOLED.

    • Ah damn, wait So the c6 77 doesnt have qd oled

I wonder if tandem 2.0 woled beats qdoled?

      • That’s correct, it’s Tandem WOLED which is considered superior to QD-OLED. It can get much brighter and actually sustain its peak brightness whereas QD-OLED has an aggressive ABL. The only downside is that the DCI-P3 colour space is not quite as wide as the QD-OLED but it isn’t far off. Some people are also put off by the raised blacks as QD-OLED does not have a traditional polarising layer.

    • best 65" ?

      • S95H > Bravia 8 II > S90H.

        All of which are QD-OLED.

        • oh yeah I think I had seen the S95H mentioned somewhere, it has that massive reflective bezel. I hope the next model removes that :)

Samsung call it a 'refined' bezel.

  • This or TCL C8L?

    • This isn't a simple answer. Whilst the C6 is plenty bright for a bright environment, the C8L get's significantly brighter. However, the C6 will look much better with the lights out due to the perfect black uniformity whereas you will notice blooming with the C8L. Which would I buy if it were my money? Black uniformity is more important to me than peak brightness, so the C6 is the winner. Mini LED and RGB LED is great and all, until you turn the lights out.

    • I’m struggling with the same choice 77” vs 85” room is bright during the day but I don’t use it much during the day

  • Was able to get LG C6 77 inch price match and free delivery with the Good Guys $3301.1 in the ACT (on backorder 2-4weeks), combining this with discounted good guys giftcards ~4%, brings total to $3169. Might consider buying this damn.

  • Was waiting for a G6 83“ deal but this one is hard to pass up. Got one and will wait for the 97 inch to go down in price in a few years.

    • I love my 83" G4. Its such a great TV

      • Oww I should‘ve felt excited getting a new TV but for some reason, I am doubting my choice. Thinking $3.3k for a TV is not much and if it breaks in 3-5 years I won’t feel the hurt. Upgrading to a 83“ from a 77” seems stupid even I prefer the brightness and sleekness of the G series.

So I aim high and hope my next TV be the 97“ G series when the price is right.

        • Honestly that sounds like a good idea. Its been a steady fall of oles prices due to competition. In a few more years I wonder what the prices would be, I can imagine some insane deals with prices no one would have thought would ever appear.

          • @badjazy: Too right. I wouldn't have imagined a few years ago a newly released 77" LG would be below $3.5k even if it isn't the flagship model that you used to be have to wait for a deal at the End of Year stock clearance.

        • I went from an old 65" C Series OLED to a 83" G4. So the upgrade in size was worth the $6400 I paid a few years ago.

I love the gallary frame with the wallmount. My TV space is now super minimalistic and clean.

          • @Commander Shepard: I've always planned to get a G-series 83" and call it a day. I was planning to look out for end of year deals on the G6 but just couldn't resist on this price for the C6. If it was a deal for the G6 83 under $6k, I would have jumped on it

This year's decision is a bit harder as both G6 and C6 share the same processor and Tandem Oled. The C6 is really the budget conscious/poor people's choice this year!

I do like the way the G6 handles reflections better, a heatsink for sustained brightness and the ability to be wall mounted flush. I know I will join the G-club eventually.

I don't think I will wall mount this C6 as there's a bulge that would create a gap at the back and if it was a G6 I would definitely wall mount it.

            • @FrugalNotStingy: My TV and living room sits at the end of my main hallway in my house. For people with OCD. Having it perfectly flush with the wall makes a big difference. As you dont see behind the TV every time you walk somewhere in the house.

  • Anybody else seeing "invalid promo code" for this offer? Doesnt seem to be working anymore…?

    • Just tested, still working.

      • Thank you. Copied and pasted - worked, didnt capitalize and it didnt work.

  • I've had my Sony 65W850a for 12 years now, i think its time to upgrade….

    • I have my Sony for 7 years and I have upgraded to the LG C5 83" last week. Very happy with the images after settings. I have just bought the LG C6 48" as my PC monitor. Will pick this up tomorrow.

  • For those who want one now or outside delivery locations JB Hi-Fi were able to do $3304 including a wall mount bracket and delivery.

Any suggestions on which LG soundbar to pair nicely with this?

    • I hear q990 sound bars are the best. They come with the centre, Left, right and a subwoofer that is good quality. 11 channels.

      • Thank you. Was thinking I should LG soundbar for integration features but not sure which one is good value.

    • Hey mate are you able to provide invoice? JB chat won't do anything better than their 15% off for me :(

      Thanks!

    • Would you mind sharing receipt?

  • I’m still on plasma. Would this be at least as good? Don’t know much about the oleds but everything that came before was no match to the plasma panels. Appreciate constructive guidance!

  • The LG is great and the price is amazing.

I really, REALLY dislike the ads LG force in the home screen and also anytime someone says alexa, it turns off what ever you're watching, and activates the Amazon screen.

    Seriously annoying.

The Samsung s90h is a wayyyyyyy better experience and screen.

    • Glad to hear it. I’m so excited but nervous waiting for my s90h to arrive!

  • is this the cheapest LG 77" OLED C6 has been?

  • I'm getting "Invalid discount code" at checkout.
Looks like this offer has already expired… :-(

    • Just need Capslock, "15OFFTV" still working.

      • Thanks, mate, it's working now!
Had to use Incognito window in Chrome though - bloody cookies were messing it up somehow…
