Terrible advice for a daily trainer. Carbon plated shoes should never be used for daily runs unless you want a bad time further down the track.

For cheaper daily trainers from Running Warehouse sale, I could recommend the NB Rebel V5 ($140), Mizuno Neo Zen 2 ($150), and either Saucony Triumph or Hurricane.
Rebel has Nike Vomero 18 for $150 which would be solid too.- 1

Difference between a fast/uptempo daily jog and this shoe is longevity and initial price. I don't have this one, but any shoe called a "trainer" should be able to last double the kilometres (500-700km compared to the SC Elite at 250-350km) without degrading noticeably.

I’ve had 2 pairs of the SC Trainer v3. They are a really comfy shoe. The first pair lasted a while (500km) but second pair degraded real quick (less than 300km), the middle under the forefoot became really compacted to the point the bottoms of the shoe are no longer flat, same problem on both.
I’ve got far more usage out of my Mach 6 and about to buy the Mach 7.
The elite are great, I had the v4 and feel good but heels wore out quick but I think they have fixed with the v5.- 1
I've really been enjoying the Mach 6 (rated online as a "general trainer capable of uptempo daily runs") as my first 'proper' running shoe.
I'm looking forward to the SC Elite v5 as a race pace shoe for new best times and max output runs. Going to try using them exclusively for fast pace, until I've put 400km through them!- 0
