My dc35 I brought is 2013 and the battery is still going strong. Still holds 80% of the original charge

I got the V7 Absolute or whatever (the standard model) back when you could still stack multiple coupon on eBay.
so waiting on a better deal on Car+Boat model I already have all the attachments. I paid less than $270 for V7 with all attachments so don't want to pay much for just the Car+boat vacuum.
another reason is V7 still going well on 2nd battery. the only thing bad with it is I recently had brainrot (fatigue) and when washing the filter, I wringed it multiple times when washing, but somehow forgotten to wring it at the very end to drain the water like instructions say. hopefully this can help someone not make the same mistake I did.
don't know what I was doing. but anyway left it in the sun all day, thought it was dry (it wasn't) enough even though still damp and ran the vacuum. instantly I could smell some strong smell coming out the vacuum like bacteria smell. never smelled before this.
I then straight away sprayed mould cleaner all inside filter, and then left it dunked in a takeaway container filled with water. rinsed wringed and dried properly. most of the smell went away, but I think some is still there because it went through the whole vacuum because it's so powerful. barely noticeable but I recognise the smell. it must be all in the motor and the filter at the back (V7 normal has no HEPA) and so it's just stuck that way until I get a new one.

Just received my V16, nope, too heavy and cumbersome to use for the whole house. Sending it back. Luckily I ordered the smaller new V8 Cyclone from another deal. That one is a pleasure to use, light weight and decent suction on medium. Life gets harder after 40.
