  • Didn't know this existed 5 minutes ago.
Didn't want this 5 minutes ago.
    Did I buy it? Yes

  • A refreshing, nice story this game has I reckon.

  • FYI for those who are wondering. (source: found online)

    Dimensions approx. 21 cm × 30 cm, 352 pages

    That sounds nicely beefy.

I'll, however, hold off until I preview the book in person first (or an online sampler/ video of it) - if it's available anywhere to do so.

    • Someone on Insta posted the French version https://www.instagram.com/reel/DSXZNBTkmJo/?hl=en

    • By then it might not be available anymore.

I bought "The Art of Ori and the Will of the Wisps" for $40, and "The Art and Making of Control" for $70. Few years later sold Ori for $700 and Control for $1,200. Just saying that some of the popular game books can go out of stock and become highly expensive collectible items. Might not be true for this book but I pre-ordered one just in case :)

      • I'd buy the Control one if it comes!

      • I don't think it will happen for this edition but it might happen for the alicia collector one.

      • It may not be available then - and that's ok with/ for me.

I'm defo not buying a book becasue its going to be collectible or highly expensive later.

Personally, it's because I enjoyed the game so much that I want to see more about it in a physical form - at an acceptable price point. Good for many that Amazon doesn't take money until a product is ready to ship, I guess.

        • I didn't buy Ori and Control with the intention of making a profit. There was no way of knowing back then they'd end up being worth so much. Once I realised how expensive they'd become, though, I started paying a bit more attention and flipped a few other books too. But same as you, I buy them because I like the games, not as some calculated investment. I won't lie, I did shed a tear when I parted with Ori and Control… but hey, $1.9K is $1.9K! 😅

          • @Alx75: oof!

Someone actually forked over $1.9K for a book!

Even the holy scriptures go for free! 😭

            • @YoursTruly: Haha, two books and two different people, but yeah crazy!

  • is this DLC?

    • It's a physical book for the game's art.

OP, perhaps edit the title for clarity.

      • The art book cost more than the game. Wild, I thought it was DLC or a sequel

        • Yes, it's a Hardcover Art book - probably doesn't justify the asking price, note. It's not intended for everyone.

I'll personally hold off and determine later once a preview is available.
Also, likely to be much cheaper then.

  • Ordered. Thanks for letting us know!

  • Just FYI, Amazon don't package books well. So in transit they are likely to get knocked around and damaged.
Something like this would be disappointing to arrive with crushed corners and scuff marks

    • Learnt this a few days ago, four books loosely thrown into a box 2x too big and the books are in worse condition than you'd find at an op shop

    • I've been pretty fortunate when it comes to purchasing artbooks from Amazon but I can definitely attest to the lack of padding inside the box.
That being said, at the very least Amazons return policy is pretty painless should the item arrived damaged.

    • This has happened to me a couple of times with expensive hard cover books.

Pretty ironic considering Amazon started as a book store.

Ebay seller in general (for me at least) do a better job at packing heavy books.

    • Had this a few times, unfortunately. It always ended with a refund and no need to return the book.

    • Have a look at the reviews for other art books. There are heaps of photos showing damage.
It's been a frustrating problem for a long time. Why can't this huge company sort it out?
Bitmap Books are always well packed.and even have foam corners. No excuses Amazon!

    • Yeah but it's generally not the same people

    • as long as its a popular social media approved game people will post bullshit RRP deals

      • What's a popular social media approved game? As opposed to what? Obviously if a game is popular, deals for it will be too..

      • This is not Minecraft or Roblox games ;p

  • Couldn't get into this game but definitely keen to add this book to my collection

  • How much AI will be in the art book? /s

  • This game is a masterpiece of art and music. Played this game free on Xbox Game Pass but bought the digital music album on Steam, and now pre-ordered this art book. Ordered through my Amazon Prime app on the phone and claimed APPOFF10 discount code for my first order to receive another $10 discount, bringing the price down to $49.99.

  • Art work is entry level to videogame development , so check it out
I wonder if those complains have shown there art

  • Both versions are A4 format which is disappointing. Totally messes up the symmetry of my collection.

  • Will it play the game music in background
