**First post, hopefully haven't made any blunders ha ha ha **

Have been looking for a multipurpose headset for both work calls and music, with a strong microphone setup. The Yealink BH78 seems to tick the boxes; good audio, hybrid ANC, and a discreet retractable boom mic for clearer calls.

PS: Orders above $300 gets free shipping, so add something worth $9-10 like a HDMI cable or a phone stand etc

  • I feel this type of headset is not comfy for long time wearing such as Jabra 65 75 85. Also this noise cancelling thingy can make mic-phone pivk up your voice better but you cant really hear the sound of surrounding, especially when the boss comes to me, always got scared 😨

    • I was in an asset meeting with Yealink reps, and they had given us a range of headphones to test as samples. I mentioned that one of them was similar to the Jabra's that we're already using, and they all looked at me like a ghost, as if they that offended them. They then sent me this massive PDF doc of how their version was better than that exact Jabra model we had, comparing each feature.

On-ear headphones actually give me severe ear and head aches. I can only wear over-ear headphones or in-ear earphones.

Good for single users to block out background noise such as traffic. If employees are in a coworking environment then we usually recommend a mono headset Either way, noise cancelling technology is still important for calls.

I had that same misconception about ANC a while back lol. Then found out they are actually completely different technologies, and they are controlled in totally different ways:

      • Speaker ANC (Active Noise Cancellation): This is for your benefit. It blocks out surrounding noise so you can focus on your music or calls. You can easily control this yourself using a button on the headset or through its phone app (to turn it on, off, or pass sound through).

      • Microphone ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation): This is for the other person's benefit. It filters out the background noise around you so your voice sounds crystal clear to the person listening.

  • Yeah this or the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones (Denim colour) which JB has got priced for $299 ($340 off). Probably a way better deal. None of that silly boom mic too.

    • $290 at Woolworths everyday market place

      • Are you referring to this?. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/1128118854…

That's from a marketplace seller called BuyMobile which is a grey importer seller. It's a grey import shipped from overseas stock and only get seller warranty. It says so on this web page on their own online store. You've got to do your research before purchase or else you might end up with a grey import with no local manufacturer warranty. Which is a terrible deal.

"International stock, 1-2 days fast dispatch.
Estimated Delivery Time Frame: 5-7 Business days
        One Year Australian Seller Warranty."

In my opinion i'd rather pay the few extra dollars to get it from JB with the full manufacturer warranty and also the over the counter store returns from a reputable and authorised Australian retailer such as JB.

    • Boom mics can make a big difference to call quality in noisy offices.

    • Momentum 4 is a beast for sure, especially at the price point of ~$274 (for eBay plus members direct from Sennheiser). However I am mainly worried about the mic quality, based on the reviews, Yealink seems to do better at this.

      • How?
I can't get the codes to work.
During the live event ot wouldn't work either

      • I’m sure the Yealink will do a lot of better than the Momentum 4 in terms of mic quality. If I had any need to be heard clearly on a call, I’d never bother with of the top consumer Sony, Bose or Sennheiser models, as they’re for listening only, and the mics are always inferior to a proper headset with a boom mic.

I have the Yealink UH46 (wired) for my WFH office, and the mic is great. The soft on-ear pads are pleasant and sound great for calls and fine for occasional music.
