        Sure it can provide 1.7kW power to extend your EV by 15km, but the extra 30kg you have to carry it in your car may reduce the range by 15km, so you end up with same range as without having to carry it in your EV XD

          It wouldn’t reduce it by that much, but it’s not worth it for an electric car. These are for caravans/campervans where you want everything to be able to run at once.

          Would be amazing with even just 2x 400w on the roof

            @Dyl: Only amazing if you are happy to park your van out of the shade….. Sometimes not even possible in a van park which often have a lot of shade on the sites. A long cable for the panels to be put on the ground is a better option.

          If 30 kgs reduced range by 15kms then trucks would get nowhere. Other physics come in to play like rolling resistance and momentum.

      Unless it is a heat pump dryer, this isn't a suitable application. It would likely run a 2400W dryer, but for about 30-40 minutes. With the washing machine, it would likely only be suitable on a cold wash or with a washing machine that has a hot water inlet.

      C2000 gen 2 has WiFi I think, can schedule charge/discharge and has a shorter cutover 10ms? for load. Worth noting that if it runs out of power in a blackout and power returns the AC outlets won’t auto start providing power again.
      The f2000 doesn’t have any of the above features but at this price is damn good for what it is. (I have one)

      The theory is take the Wh and divide by the voltage to give Ah (Wh = Ah x V). There are efficiency losses and the voltage of battery will vary over its discharge curve.

      This one and the Bluetti AC180 i have are silent when no power draw. Fan only comes on when triggered by big enough power draw, and when charging from mains.

      Depends on the size most portable ones like Brass monkey uses about 50-60 watts per hour, that might not be running constantly but even if it was 2000 whr would last like 30-40 hours.

    Just a note if you are using it for backup purposes, his draws around 300W/day just being plugged in to the wall with no load placed on it.

    My FIL has one that sits between a sump pump and the GPO - so the pump will operate even if there is a power outage.
    On days when the sump pump does not operate, the load at the GPO (measured using a Meross smart plug found on OzB a little while ago) is a consistent 12-15Wh per hour every hour of the day.

    Obviously, when the pump turns on then the load spikes higher, but that is nothing to do with the Anker unit.

          Its 300W at 33c/kW so like 10c, but its also a $1000 investment.

          At 1.7kW/day, you'd only be saving 56.1c a day if you charged it for free, meaning its 46.1c per day made back. The ROI is around 6 years.

            @ATangk: For my FIL, the purchase was about peace of mind rather than ROI (knowing that the likelihood of his basement garage flooding during a power outage is significantly reduced to being almost zero with this unit in place).
            He doesn't charge and discharge it intentionally to try and get a return on it.

            In terms of the ongoing cost, in his circumstance it's even less money as he has a home battery (that couldn't backup the sump pump circuit - don't ask….) so all he is losing is 0.3kWh /day from the excess solar feed in he would otherwise get once the home battery is topped up each day - so 0.3 x 7c = about 2c per day or about $7.60 /yr! :-D

              But of the 5 or so blackouts that have occurred near my suburb my street seems to never be affected. So for the time being I’m not rushing in to buy this.

              If the idle draw with inverter on is only 15w per hour, thats really not bad

                @King Tightarse: Not sure what you mean by "inverter" (possibly the inverter internally within the Anker?), but the setup is as follows:
                GPO on the wall -> Meross smart plug -> Anker -> Pump (plugged into one of the 240V ports on the Anker).

                Previously I had the pump plugged directly into the GPO, then I put the Meross smart plug in there so that I could get some real-world usage figures (partly to help size the backup solution, partly to be able to monitor that it was operating).

                When I added the Anker into the mix, I left the Meross in place so that I could see what sort of energy consumption was taking place, and can also see that the pump is operational by the additional spikes (it will turn on for a few seconds every other day with ground seepage, or of course a lot more when it is raining).

                Before the Anker was installed, the Meross would show zero usage except for the times that the pump turned on.
                Now, with the Anker in place, every hour there is around 0.012 - 0.015kWh (12-15Wh) recorded by the Meross.
                A daily total (when the pump does not create a spike in usage) is a tad over 300Wh.

                  @clintdb: Hey thanks for replying.
                  Yes I meant the internal inverter (or just the 240v wall style plug on the Anker) but you explained it.
                  So because the Anker is permanently plugged in at the wall after the Metross, I guess we are looking at the recharge amounts it uses on top of the pump running.
                  If it's only 15W thats actually pretty darn good. I would be happy with that.

      See my comment above re using it as a UPS for a sump pump. This is in a garage that sits below ground level and collects perimeter drainage into a small pit before being pumped out (float switch on the pump) as the water in the pit rises.
      No problem at all if the power stays on, but if there is a blackout (and of course this is most likely during a severe storm event), then this will power the pump for a good day or more.

      Used it to run a small fan heater on low for a couple hours in evenings. I have a smart plug to fill it up during the day from cheap grid power or my solar. Probably not an ideal way to recoup the cost of it though

      My testing suggests 45W inverter load on idle. Nowhere as good as the newer C2000 which I think draws 10W on AC idle.

    This one is v1. And its so bulky and heavy. 30kg, work safety says you need two guys to lift it.

      It has wheels and a telescopic handle to move around. but yes, if you need to lift it up and down from the ground into a ute or vehicle etc then it's a two-person-lift for sure.
      The C2000 is much lighter for the same output capacity. but it's also twice the price.
      For me, I only need to move it around my house during power outages, so the wheels and suit-case telescopic handle are great.
