Spotted a pretty good deal at Officeworks on the Arlo Go 2 Security Camera. It's currently going for $229.
It's a handy camera if you need flexibility, as it connects via both WiFi and 4G (so you can use it in spots without a WiFi connection like a caravan, worksite, or holiday house).

Have since left Arlo and running exclusively on Ubiquiti ecosystem.
Arlo tech support is absolutely useless when you run into problems…and you will. Avoid at all cost!!

Have been in the Arlo ecosystem since the Arlo Pro and moved to subscription when I got the newer cameras.
Cameras and system haven’t missed a beat. Never had to use tech support so cannot comment on that.
Any issues I have been able to resolve using the online articles.
I have them connected to a hub and a couple on wifi due to signal stength.
Do your research and buy something you are comfortable with.
I'm also happy with Arlo. I pay their subscription and the fee ~$15 month is very reasonable if you have a lot of cameras (I have 15). Maybe not a good price if you only have a couple.

Need to set something like this up for a relative. No wifi, are these pretty foolproof? Drop a data sim in there and im ok with the monthly fee.
Any particular sim best suited to this? They require for a few months.

IMO, avoid Arlo Security Camera.
Alot of the features are locked behind their subscription (including some that were free in earlier models).
