Good price for a highly regarded mallet putter. It's the model prior to the current one but these are still selling for around $400 locally.

A good option if you don't want to sell a kidney for a TaylorMade Spider or Scotty Cameron Phantom. This should have a nicer face feel than the budget options like Wilson Staff Buckingham or the Cleveland HB Soft models and will also have a better shaft for similar money.

Note that the price has been fluctuating over the last week since I've been watching it, presumably due to currency conversions.

Features:

  • [Type] Mallet Type JAILBRD MINI Double Vent [Loft] 3 Degree [Lie Angle] 70 Degree
  • Shaft: STROKE LAB Shaft SL90 (Steel) [Length] 34 inches
  • Grip: Ai-One Pistol Grip: Approx. 2.6 oz (76 g)
  • (Model Year) 2024 (Country of Origin) Assembled in China / Japan *Head Cover: Made in China

  • Great find mate, in the market to buy a putter, almost pull the trigger on temu lab ahahah

    • I've got a $100 AliExpress DF3 on the way!

    • If you are playing for fun, just get temu. You are out there for fun with your mates and not trying to win the masters.

if you play in competitions, then I would buy real.

      • I honestly wouldn't buy from temu no matter the use-case. It won't last. Just but something second hand from FB marketplace, a thrift store, tip shop etc. That's better than the consumerism of temu.

        • Fakes getting good and have seen a few pop up on marketplace.

          • @Goliegosh: i avoid it at all cost. i rather buy a new unused club that is last years or a few years old model. technology isn't improving like it use to. very small "gains" over previous years. i should be hitting my driver 1000 yards by now with all the increased yardage claims every year. lol

        • that's true, but i know a lot of people want the latest and greatest. so its best to get similar for cheaper if you aren't playing in comps. it also boosts excitement for the game and finds my mates asking to go play more and more, vs them buying 2nd hand old clubs.

          • @Hugh G Rection: I bought a TM Spider GT from AliExpress for $120 a year ago. Saved me about $400 and it has been rock solid and still looks brand new. Strangely it is wearing better than my proper TM Spider that the GT replaced. I was a bit worried on the longevity but have been pleasantly surprised.

  • Nice. Wish it came in 35’ as I find 34 like putting with a kids putter.

    • I didn't downvote you, but If you are over 6 feet tall, then 35 is good.

Most aren't over 6 feet, so a 34" is the perfect length and the new standard length for putters. This is also a good length if you are choking down on your putter.

    • How tall are you? I'm 6'1 and I switch between 34 and 35 inches. I find 34 a bit more stable. Arms are straighter.

      • Yes 6’1 also. I think I’m just used to 35 and 34 feels like I’m leaning over too much.

      • hmmm… i'm 5 foot 11 and and use a 35. (Spider Tour X)

        horses for courses I guess.

        • Yeah it absolutely is horses for courses. Arm length is a big factor, so if you're a bit of a T-Rex you'll want something longer. And just how bent over is comfortable for you.

    • I almost purchased an Odyssey zero torque putter from Amazon Japan, but being 6'3" I thought 34" would be too short.

  • Tri beam also good value at $187 if looking for a blade

    • True. They look so mong though.

    • Tri beams were well under $100 before.

    • blades are dead, pro's don't even use it

Blade putters are now a minority on tour, used by roughly 30% of the pros

In the top 100, over 60% use mallets

Among the absolute elite (top 10), 90% use mallet putters

      • I'm not sure why you were down voted. You're correct. It's basically a fact that mallets are easier to line up.

      • Fortunately most here aren't playing on the PGA Tour……

        • That's not really a good take, IMO. If the absolute best players on the planet are convinced that a mallet makes golf easier for them, why wouldn't hackers do that too?

I'm not saying everyone with a blade putter should bin it right now, but when they're ready to replace, why wouldn't you get a club that makes golf easier for you?

        • I didn't downvote you, but I think you are confused.

Mallet putters are easier and better for all players. Why wouldn't you switch? Data also shows their putting has improved, and it will also improve yours.
The next putter everyone should buy is a mallet putter. a slightly off centered hit with a blade will get it off line and leave it short. while a mallet will keep it closer on line with very little distance lost, giving you a better chance for 1 putt or an easy tap-in 2-putt.

Your statement would be true if I were talking about blade irons, which I don't recommend for most players.

  • what part of it is ai?

    • All of it. The entire putter is pure AI with an in built data centre. You just describe the putt and chatgpt tells you how to do it.

      • Unfortunately it always gets it at least 15% wrong but near enough is good enough for golf

      • Excellent, I can have a shared hallucinatory experience about my incredible short game

        • I'm sure it will tell you how absolutely wonderful your putting ideas are and then be profusely apologetic when they don't work.

    • all of it, enjoy 1 putting on every hole.

    • If it was a serious question, it's the face insert, apparently.

  • It's all in the hips!

Also a good putter won't make you a better golfer. Sure will get you out there playing more though (which will make you better)

    • Absolutely, but it's ok to have nice things and, as you say, it will encourage you to get out more.

  • You have selected POWER DRIVE!

  • Purchased, great deal, thanks OP……

    • Enjoy. My order is still pending and I suspect postage will take a while.

  • Looks like only 2 left in stock. If you're on the fence, time to decide.

    • OOS now

    • 1 back in stock!

  • Good price. But having received the Void Centrefire Mallet (Discounted Blemish one because I'm still an Ozbargainer) I've been wanting for a year, no other putter will do.

Knocked 6-9 strokes off my average score (though that's no saying much with my shitty game). From mostly three putts to two's and ones.

Turns out proper zero torque is no joke. And their patented distance control tech had me sold over a LAB (I need all the help I can get).

If you want to do the same put an alert on this page and sign up to their emails (latest batch of blems sold out in under a day as usual) https://voidgolf.com/collections/blem_clubs

    • ZT doesn't do it for me, but I'm glad it's worked for you.

  • Cheers OP. Don't need it, got it anyway.

Rolling a 2023 Ping Anser that is nice but need to see if the mallet shaves a few strokes off.

Have a second hand Cobra Stingray but was too heavy and hot off the face so only gamed it a couple months. That was my only mallet experience.

    • Enjoy

  • Has anyone had an update on their order yet?

  • 3 back in stock

    • OOS again

  • I assume no one's had any movement with their order? I ordered on 4/07 and it's still "order received. We will email you when we have an estimated delivery date."

Anyone know the best way to enquire about order status?

    • No movement yet here too. Ordered on the 5th and there was a screen that said 10-14 days to be shipped. Haven't had the payment debited yet either but can see a pending amazon charge with no dollar amount

      • An ECMS tracking number has appeared on my order today, but the tracking doesn't work yet. The payment was debited today. So movement hopefully.

Edit: just got the shipped notification. Arriving July 30th apparently.

        • Debited and shipped yesterday for me. Was about to try contact support to see what was going on

  • Arrived today

  • For anyone whose keen on the new, slightly more expensive model: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/969416

    • Except it's cheaper than this one at the moment.

  • I can't edit the post any more, but these are back in stock for $213.72.
