Just found an amazing deal on the new flagship tech of OzBargain's favourite Mini led tv's at Good Guys. it's for all the new SQD mini led TCL models (C7L, C8L and X11L) bundled with a TCL soundbar for 20% off final price. If you're unfamiliar with SQD tech check this link

Although the 75C8L is still decent value for a brand new tv just releasing in May at $2584.8 with the TCL 2.1 Ch Dolby Atmos 220W Soundbar, the 75C7L is the real bargain at $1800 with the same soundbar. This is actually $2016 with you bundle it and add to cart but i just figured out if you do that first and then go back and then add the tv via price beat separately without bundling it reduces the tv price by $270 and then now that you have both in your cart remove the bundled one and then it bundles the price beat tv instead making it $1800 with the soundbar! this obviously works with all sizes and models of the tv's (55C7L $1128, 65C7L $1459.2)

Amazing value for a tv's i'd imagine are unbelieve in person. I've had my 75C7K for 1 1/2 years now, it is incredible and honestly i rate it 85-90% as good as my C4 OLED

        I didn't say I was ungrateful for the deal. I was appreciating how the mod helped clarify the ops deal.
        The deal can only be a deal when acquired.
        You can't see the posters above but they were all unable to workout how to get the deal. But the mod, helped put the process in the description.
        So being grateful to a mod makes me ungrateful to op? Weird take. I was just thankful to them for making it clear.

    Have been waiting for a deal on an 85inch. The 85C7L with the 7.1.4ch sound system comes out at $3077 in cart and before trying gift cards. Mixed reviews on the sound bar capabilities from what I can tell.

    Or $2568 with the cheaper sound bar. Suppose could try and sell for $100 and then have ~$500 into something else.

    Seems like a good deal overall! Anyone have much luck getting delivery and install thrown in?

      I've been waiting for a deal as well since EOFY sales have been bad and missed out on the 85" C8K for around ~$2.2k. $2568 with the cheap soundbar seems like the way to go for a decent 85", might pull the trigger tonight.

                I’m not so sure. Seeing the cart shows the bundle as a voucher whether that causes the cashback to not work.

      C8 is the premium option, you pay more of a premium than relative viewing experience
      C7 is the mid-high range value option
      C6 is the budget option and not great because its significantly worse than the C7 despite only being 20-30% cheaper.

            @Frayin: I just got back from looking at them at the Good Guys… I know in-store TV's are setup to show best picture quality but both TV's C7L & C8L looked amazing… The C8L looked better & I agree, I couldn't justify spending an extra $700 for the C8L even though I would like too

          Nope you did good!
          They mean instead of having the soundbar running at a surround sound setup, they would have it running with no “surround” so it would be a more front sounding speaker.

          Hence 3.1 - left, right, centre + sub (.1)

          Instead of 5.1, which would have two drivers on the end giving it a surround feel.

          When you get your soundbar they’ll likely be some button or switch :) just try both out for a few hours and see what you like. Both will sound very good

              Remember to run it over HDMI if it supports which will give you arc/eArc, that way you can use your tv remote as a single remote, and you want something called passthrough audio in your settings, because that will pass pure audio (e.g. Dolby Atmos) to the soundbar.

              This will be very nice setup for movies! Very nice

                  I just find soundbars the 'surround' function is hit or miss. It's fairly hard to simulate surround when…. It doesn't surround you heh. But I reckon having the centre channel is pretty essential.

            @badjazy: It’s used as a marketing term that says that the soundbar is capable of interpreting a 5.1 surround input, that soundbar has 5x drivers & 2x tweeters for example.

            It doesn’t mean that it can actually produce a 5.1 surround experience, especially if you don’t have the appropriate walls to bounce sound off.

            It isn’t just TCL that does it, KEF does it in the HiFi market with their $3,600 XIO soundbar

    I got it for 1800, the TV wasnt picking up a lower price 2 days before. Order is still pending, soundbar shipped and TV pending 15/06. can i cancel or ask for store credit for the difference?

    i tried chat to price match the soundbar even lower ($185) but got two dimwits as sales reps who couldnt put the deals together.

    Can anyone offer some advice… ive been eyeing up the c8k but ive been a bit unsure if its going to be too bright for the room.

    My tv room is dark. Is the c7L a better option for me than a C8L?

    We watch a lot of tv and movies, and its also our main gaming tv, though i woild prioritise tv and movies over gaming.

      C7L Will be completely fine for you. If you get a chance, check them out in store. The C7L is plenty bright.

          Most important difference imo is the C8L has more dimming zones, thus better local dimming

          Better processor in the newer models, helps with upscaling. Also, 4 HDMI 2.1 ports in C8L

          Better bloom control, brighter, better colours. But only marginally. If you have the budget, get the C8L, otherwise you'll be completly happy with the 7 series.

      Absolutely. The LG QNED is edge-lit, not real full array mini LED. Overpriced for outdated tech and vastly inferior image quality. Definitely swap it while you still can.

    Trying hard not to buy this one, but it doesnt seem to get good reviews for gaming and sport due to motion blur at all refresh rates. I would be replacing our Sony X9000h LED from 2020 which its heavily used for gaming on a PS5, so i dont want to have issues. Then again i do game on the TCL C755 and i dont seem to notice issues, unless the motion issues came up on the the new models.

    Thanks OP, got one. Been eyeing the following for some time now with the HiSense being the top choice before. But after measuring our walls, found out that 75" is the sweet spot and for <$2000 with a Soundbar, it was a no brainer.

    This was during EOFY deals, where I asked AI to scrape pricing for 85" models except LG and Sony. Pricing is not always accurate and just rough estimates that time:

      I replaced our B8 with the C7K last year. No regrets, the only downside is that if you go off centre the picture quality falls off pretty quickly.

        We got that one but the TCL speaker had hissing and wind sound. Tried to rectify it but we couldn’t. Even went over with their service staff. Eventually we returned it and got the Samsung one.

            @OB-Col: What had the Q85PRO. That’s the one has got the hissing sound. Upon reading forums, it’s a known issue and so we changed it to Samsung at return the old one.

    Looking at reviews and everyone is loving it apart from this guy (from jb- see below). Anyone who knows their stuff or has one care to comment if this is an unlucky dude who got a brumnmy one or whether issues are founded?
    "The TCL 55C835 was the best tv I've ever owned, unfortunately it fell down and I had to replace it. I bought the 65C7K which had the worst motion clarity I've ever seen, so I got this tv to replace it…. Only to find out it has exactly the same issues. This is the second worst tv I've ever used next to the C7K, TCL should be ashamed of thems lives for releasing such awful panels. Why did they stop making the TVs that just worked? Why do I have to spend more money on a worse product? They also clearly downvote any negative reviews, which seems shady to say the least. Yeah I see you TCL people downvoting this review, you know just as well as I that these TVs are garbage. "Best affordable option for gamers" what a joke. The colour balance is so awful that the "sqd "improvements"" aren't even noticeable unless you know how to sort out the white balance. The red levels are WAY too high, to the point where text (and other white/ high contrast elements) have a halo of red pixels similar to chromatic aberration. I spent more money to replace the 65C7K with this just to find it it's exactly as bad, but smaller… These tech companies have to learn they can't keep getting ring away with outputting inferior stock. This is potential grounds for a class action lawsuits so I really hope TCL get their product line in order before others start to care as much as I do. Goodbye TCL, you wowed me with the C835 and fell off harder than Ed Sheeran after his second album"

      Yep found a few similar reviews on product review. If it can be fixed with software updates then I'm in, otherwise it's too risky to replace our 6 year old Sony LED that's primarily used for the PS5 and watching sport.

      It's a real pity that rtings no longer let us view their review articles in full for free (to stop AI). What that comment mentioned is explained in the review:

      Rtings' TCL QM7L Review - QM7L is the US model name, C7L is the AU model name. Before I quote the relevant bits from that review, I want to state that when I was in a JB store checking out TVs, I was impressed with both C7L and C8L (more impressed with C8L) and didn't notice the issue mentioned. However, TVs do look nice in store and the demo loop TV makers prepared tend to show you the best part of the TVs.

      Quoting rtings on the bits related to what that user comment mentioned:

      The red tint on this video is an interaction between the camera sensor and the very strong red peak emitted by the TV. It's not noticeable in person.

      Due to the TV's relatively fast response time, there's some stutter when watching movies and TV shows that's most noticeable in slower panning shots. However, not everyone will notice it.

      Transitions are a bit uneven, leading to noticeable artifacts. There are some unwanted intermediate colors, but they're extremely minor and not very noticeable. Edges are noticeably soft, and there's noticeable ghosting at the sides of moving objects.

      Rtings gives the TV a rating of 8.2 (according to Google), which is a pretty good score.

      TV is subjective, some people notice certain display issues more than others. Also, need to give this year's TVs some time to update their firmware. TCL TVs are VA based, and the weaknesses of VA panels can annoy some people. IPS panels can't match VA panels in HDR space (and the blacks on IPS, while less noticeable on monitors, are easily more noticeable on large TVs). OLED isn't perfect either.

      I stress again that I was impressed with both C7L and C8L last time I was at a JB store (I did do the panel tapping test to confirm they are both VA based SQD mini led TVs). The above was quoting the issues rtings review mentioned for C7L (some of them can be corrected via firmware updates). Wish I have the budget for one of those TVs.

        I have RTINGS access. Great TV for the average folk, but garbage PQ EOTF Tracking, Upscaling, HDR Native Gradient, Lighting Zone Transition and SDR & HDR Pre-Calibration. Everyone's getting sucked into TCL because of their Peak Brightness and Black Uniformity but there's so much more to a TV than this. I guess that is all gibberish to these guys anyway. I did entertain the idea of buying a TCL once but couldn't bring myself to do it after having worked for Hisense. Their failure rate is atrocious compared to the likes of LG, Samsung and Sony.

      I have a C7K and the motion smoothing with the initial firmware that it came with was rubbish. On the latest V643 OTA firmware update it is much better to the point that I am now happy enough with it for its price point. Before, I was only using it as a PC and gaming monitor because the motion smoothing with other content was so bad, but now I am happy to watch TV and streaming content on it.

          I game at 4K 120Hz quite a bit and it is excellent for that. Sport is a bit average though, but I don't watch much of it on mine so not a big deal to me, but I understand it would be for some sports lovers. If I was going to watch sports all the time I'd go for a Sony as IMO it is the best in the business for this.

          If there is one criticism I have of this TV for my use is that it very occasionally shows slight horizontal band DSE with greys, which can be a little distracting. I have a slightly older C655 that also has it too, so it may be a TCL panel quality issue. Regardless, for the money it is pretty hard to beat the features these TCL TVs offer. I have a Sony OLED that, other than for brightness, is better than it but it also cost 3 times the amount for a smaller size!

        Delivery, I thought, was quite reasonable at $59 especially considering pickup was not an option for me, which I found strange for Brisbane.

        I expect that maybe stock ran out due to my delayed purchase as deal was posted ~24 hours prior to purchase. (Yes, had to think about it first. Shame on me.)

        I'm roughly 20min drive away from my nearest store.
