  • How does this compare with the free Pearcleaner?

    • it doesn't have proper cleaning option its just better as a complete package

  • On your site it mentions it’s freeware and:

MacPrune is free. Seriously. No hidden fees, no subscriptions, no upsells.

  • Yeah there is no mention on your site about subscription fees or anything, does this mean if we download it for free we will be subject later to a update that will kill it unless we pay a subscription? if yes then stuff your company that would be dirty rotten.

    • It's a one-time payment, free forever, including all future updates/upgrades. No subscription, no rug-pull.
We're still in early access so pricing isn't fully locked on the site yet , once we're past that stage, all new new customers will move to an annual plan going forward. But anyone who buys in now is grandfathered for life on the one-time deal. You have my word on that.

Will get the site updated to make this clearer, thanks for flagging it.

  • Did this guys Ozbargain account get hacked?

    • no, not really was just out for a quick coffee and back to desk

  • Please explain where the paid option is on your site? the link Buy Now / Pricing https://macprune.com/pricing has no mention of a paid subscription?
EDIT: Ok I see you just updated your site as previously the pricing link looked like this https://ibb.co/wr4KtMQZ

    • thanks for flagging it out,
      we have fixed the issues

      • Because I downloaded the app before you changed your website pricing page do I still get features like CPU process monitor & force-quit killer for free as mentioned in the screenshot I posted?

        • yes, we haven't changed anything in mac app code base, we are just updating the website for general info,

  • If you’re paying for something it’s not free, right?

Here’s a simple and open sourced tool to keep your Mac tidy for free: https://github.com/tw93/Mole

    • I totally agree that many of these things can be done manually if you are technical enough.

But for a fraction of the cost, almost the price of one coffee, MacPrune gives users a clean and simple UI so non-technical people don’t need to touch Terminal, run commands, or worry about deleting the wrong files.

  • MacPrune 80% off

Thanks, my MacTrees have dropped all their MacLeaves

    • Haha exactly, MacPrune is here to clean up all those fallen MacLeaves

  • bought it to try….

    • Thanks, feel free to share your thoughts after its use,

  • Not trying to troll, I'm genuinely curious. I have several Macs, never needed this kind of app. How much good will it do for my Macs?

I never run out of hard drive space, my CPU rarely hangs (can't remember when this last happened).

    • This is a common pain point for anyone who watches a lot of YouTube or Netflix, uses Xcode, or does basic development work on a Mac with limited storage like 256GB or 512GB.

Over time, your Mac can build up a lot of cache and temporary files.

Even with normal day-to-day use, you might be surprised how much cache is sitting on your machine.

download and give it a go. It will show you an overview of the cache and storage usage on your Mac, so you can decide what you want to clean.

  • Can I buy once and use it on all my macs? Or it is per device?

    • its per device

      • I am unable to utilize my second account on the same device. Could you please provide clarification on this matter?

        • This is designed with 1 Account per mac, once you signup with mac, it will generate a uniqueID for that device and cant be replaced unless you revoke it,

if you are trying to buy additional license

you can get it from /buy in our website

          • @sammrjn: would be good to have a multi device upgrade option ie 2 device and 3+.

            • @yeohkt: we have noted and will have that featured enabled in next few days

              • @sammrjn: it will now support multiple device purchase,
