From TA: How to determine the category of an item.

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • You must empty your Amazon cart prior to clicking from TopCashback. Failure to do so will result in an untracked purchase, and claims will not be approved.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards, vouchers, Kindle Unlimited, Audible, mobile apps, Amazon Prime subscriptions & renewals, bulk orders, commercial or reseller purchases.
  • Cashback is ineligible if using any Amazon credit as partial or full payment. However cashback is eligible if using Amazon gift cards or gift card balance as payment.
  • Second and subsequent Subscribe & Save orders are ineligible for cashback (only first Subscribe & Save orders in eligible categories are eligible).
  • Cashback is ineligible if using any codes entered manually in the 'Promo Code' field.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any coupon codes not advertised on our platform.

What else is essential

  • Cashback is eligible if using a gift card or Amazon gift card balance as payment.
  • You must start with an empty cart prior to clicking through to Amazon.
  • Pre-orders are eligible for cashback provided they are scheduled for shipment within 60 days of purchase, however they may not track to your account until shipped.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, DNS AdGuard, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • Accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • Return to TopCashback to click the 'Get Cashback' button for each new transaction.
  • Transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted or negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

Good to know

  • Amazon reports transactions based on item instead of combined cart value. If you purchase multiple items in one order, they will report as multiple transactions in your TopCashback account.
  • Purchases from Amazon US/UK are ok, provided you navigate & make the transaction via Amazon AU.
  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.

TA's Tips:

  • Amazon tracking typically takes 1-7 days to report into accounts (Amazon tracking is not instant).
  • For tracking success, ensure you disable 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave, close any additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites looking for codes etc after clicking from TopCashback AU as tracking will be lost. TopCashback AU must be your last click (not 3-Camels etc).
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).
  • Try our iOS/Android mobile app for improved tracking results.

  • Can I get cashback if I order from Amazon Business account?

    • Nope

    • Yes, always have so far

    • Yes

  • I assume if I click into the product page on a desktop browser and its top left corner says "Electronics", it should be catagorised as electronics? It's a difference of $50 cashback so have to ask. Thank you.

    • The same item could fall into another category although it may show "Electronics" in the top left hand corner suggestion mentioned in the post. It's only a rough guide.

Amazon has sometimes placed an item in another category so cashback could be different.

As per TA's comment in the link, "we're at the total discretion of Amazon and not much we can do about it".

    • Not always reliable. Last time it was 5% for specific categories but tracked only 0.5% for me as "Others" catagory. Submitted a ticket, they adjusted the cashback higher but still not even close to 5%

    • Best way is to check the link in 3 camels site, it will list the category and subcategory, always found it to be accurate w/r to cashback categories

      • The 3x Camels website is not always accurate. Amazon may pay cashback in a different category as per my experience. Some items may fall into another related category.

Cashback may not track with TopCashback after clicking 3x Camels as it may steal the commission from TopCashback.

Please refer to the rep TA's comment last year.

Just fyi. I strongly suggest not engaging with 3x Camels during your cashback shopping process. Most aren’t aware that 3x Camels operates as an affiliate just like all cashback sites, generating its income from your purchases via commission. A lot of untracked sales are directly attributed to them, and is the reason I shudder when I see their links in posts such as these.

If you really can’t avoid using them, make sure to keep them on a completely separate browser to your cashback browser (not a separate tab) to lessen the likelihood of lost cashback tracking. And always ensure the very last click you make before purchase is generated from your preferred cashback provider.

        All the best.

        • Fair enough.

I always use it to find the category BEFORE going to cashback app and it has always been accurate for me.

  • assume the Amazon eero mesh router range counts as 25% cashback uncapped?

    • Yup

  • Brings the LEGO Death Slice to about $1k…..

  • Would an iPhone be electronics? I doubt it?

    • It's vegetable

      • Last time I checked an apple was classified as a fruit.

        • I know, that vegetable hallucinate often. At one time, it even dreamed of obtaining a physical body and goes on enslave the vegetable growers

  • Is it okay to assume Kindle Scribe Colorsoft counts as 25% uncapped cashback? This is not discounted as part of the prime deals at the moment.

  • Would using AfterPay coupon AFTERPAYD make it ineligible?

  • Damn! I bought yesterday because it was 20%. If I'd waited I could have gotten back another $4.21.

  • I don't see anything about this not eligible on Prime day deals. Which would effectively make the Kindle $105. I'm not missing anything here right?

    • Yeah it nearly would - but cashback excludes GST so not exactly $105. Can save more with discounted gift cards too

  • Damnn ordered eero pro 6 pack yesterday with 20% cashback

  • Good price on Kindle Colorsoft (16 GB)

  • Hmmm. Baradur will be around $500.

    • Which would be about as cheap as it’s ever been in the past!

  • Shopback has 24+5 for westpac, so I guess it depends on whether you have giftcards or not

  • Is Apple Watch Ultra 3 eligible for the 10% cashback?

    • No.

  • Is this limited to one transaction?

    • There is no limit and also uncapped.

  • Does anyone know if you change your payment method on an order after initially placed, does it mess up the tracking? ie if you buy a gift card and then add that to the payment instead of of the full amount being on credit card? Thanks in advanced.

  • Should the clicks through log immediately? My first did, but 10 mins later I made another purchase (back through TCB site, showed the click registered banner), but nothing yet in the clicks to merchant listing for the second purchase almost an hour later.
I know cashback takes time to register, but though clicks were tracked almost immediately.
Has anyone logged a purchase more than once?

    • Mine only logged one click through to Amazon. I did them about five minutes apart, but shut the browser and started the process from scratch both times. I made sure I had screenshots etc of the process, including showing it saying the click through had been logged. I think it just only logs one, but the earrings themselves come up next day.

Come to think of it, yesterday's orders (that I cancelled) don't show as clicks at all, so I think it might just show the most recent click through to each merchant.

    • @Wimma @chocsyrup On the TopCashback website (not app), you can check your last "click" to Amazon or any retailer in this link. The time updates with each new click.

To view all your clicks in the last 100 days, go to the missing cashback claims page on the TopCashback website (not app). Select Amazon or the clicked retailer on the claims page in this link. Here is also where you submit a missing cashback claim for non-tracking.

Amazon usually tracks the next day. When your order has tracked, you should see the purchase with the cashback amount pending on your "Earnings" page here.

You would also receive an email from TopCashback that your purchase has tracked. Please ensure you are subscribed to receive the TopCashback email with the toggle switched on in the "Email Preferences" page here.

      • Yep, aware of the click tracking on the website - that's where the second order hasn't shown.
But today it has tracked with the purchase under earnings.
Guess that's ok then, just unusual. Fungers crossed, it's a decent cashback!

  • Nothing has tracked for me
