Basmati Board. Gives it contrasting texture and flavours

That wasn’t bad. I think people see the name and instinctively downvote.

I was just looking for a new chopping board from Amazon last night ! I couldn't find any that will handle the chopping of meat with bones, all were just for normal slicing and can't handle the chopping. The closest I am looking at was the eco wood type, any other suggestions ??

Use end grain, not long grain. Acacia wood is popular because it's so easily grown but it's not the best.
you get what you pay for with chopping boards.
- 5

Would like an end grain, but only see them in larger sizes. Can you get smaller boards like this one with end grain?
- 0

You can. As per below poster use butchers block in your search terms e.g. "small end grain butchers block" should give you some options.
- 0

Butchers block might be a better search term than chopping board for you. And as coffeeinmyveins said, end grain. End grain is better for your knives too, think.

Get the butchers block from these guys
Much better wood than acacia for your knives. Australian made too.

FYI rrp is bogus. It's been $29 for the past year.
- 16

Showing $42 for me now..

Bought one of these. Split after just a couple of months (other long grain boards are fine / even Ikea / no dishwasher etc)
- 3

poorly made in china most likely using wood that wasn't dried properly.
- -1

fyi long grain boards are quite a bit harder on your knives vs end grain.
- 1

my one of these the metal part is slightly raised so metal hits benchtop and it doesnt sit flat fully
kind of anoying but hasn't fallen apart after about 4 years I wont buy another though

Thanks Op, used the discount code for kitchenware, saved an additional $8
- 1

whats the discount code?
- 0

It was just applied on Mobile App. Spend over $80 on Kitchenware get $8 off
- 1

e; cancelled based on everyone's comments though. Will look for Long grain. The more you know.
- 1

The normal price for the past 12 months was $29.00 and it's now $24.70, hardly a discount worthy of OZB.
- 1

Could be worse - it could be a 10% discount
- 0

Yet, we post something like a burger that drops from $7.95 to $6.95. 🤷♂️
- 6

Apparently acacia's not great for chopping boards?
- 0

nope and this is long grain too which is even worse..
- 6

Take this price with a long grain of salt.
- 1

You're best off waiting for a board with square end grain. A lot better for your knife and health (easier to clean etc)
- 2

People will find an issue with everything. For me this is a step up from Ikea plastic junk boards
- 3

I have the next size up and now just bought this one as well.
I have no issues with long grain and have quality knives. Wash the board down, obviously don’t let it soak, don’t hack your food.
Both knives and board going just fine.

Oh yea legit. It's a good start. You probably missed out on the massive chopping boards from Myer for $60.

Why do these cheap cutting boards always have a metal ring where stuff gets stuck in it
