The older ones had the numbers rub off but the newer models are laser etched and are much more durable.
ok it wasn't about the markings, pretty sure the temperature buttons stop triggering the kettle because some kind of fault. same thing happened to a breville my family member had which is what I replied with. again I don't have experience with the one in the deal so ymmv.
We had one become increasingly unreliable at around 15 months. Replaced within the two year warranty. The replacement is just starting to act up up, also around 18 months. Think of it as a lease đź¤
I have had one for 4-5 years. About to replace for another of the same. Leaking at the bottom of the window. Great kettle

Yeah, mine started leaking from the bottom of the window a few weeks ago. It was 2.5 years old, so 6 months out of warranty.
I still I bought the same one again because I'm yet to find a variable temperature kettle that lasts more than a couple of years. When this one breaks the next one I try might be one of the Fellow/Varia/Hario gooseneck kettles.

pretty sure all gooseneck was lower watts than regular kettles. like 800W~1500W somwhere in that range. so they take alittle longer to boil afaik.
4 years in and my buttons all still work. Maybe the problems start in year 5?
Just a heads up, the window on this kettle is made from plastic inside and out. So it’s not 100% stainless steel
I don't think you can have a window if it's 100% stainless.
instead like philips I think it's carved into the inside wall. a bit hard to see.

This is after having similar Black & Decker and Durapres kettles develop leaks. Set the temp on the little display, not buttons that rub off.
If you care about standby power consumption this probably always draws something
This is worse than an Anko kettle tbh. Ours had the markings rub away and started being extremely loud when boiling like something is cracking.
We did have it for roughly 2 years but this is easily the worst kettle I've ever used.
Had this kettle. Lasted 13 months before the click plastic on the top door gave out.
Similar thing happenned to our one. The lid couldn't be open fully. It can still boil without problem.

You can pick a temperature less than 100°C. Useful for some teas and coffee.
Both are same same, comes with plastic in your water.

I have this one. The main annoying thing for me is the window is only on one side.

After having a glass smart kettle for the last several years with voice control, routines and LED temp readout on the handle i could never go back to a regular kettle or one with a tiny window.

some people say the temperature buttons go funky after a few years.
so I got the one without. if you aren't too fussy about exact temp that would probably be more reliable.
also mine has been fine 1 year now, but some ozb users said their RH developed a leak somewhere around the window. so keep an eye out for that I guess.
