  • Need more compensation for the down time today!

    • i actually noticed this deal on the weekend but couldn't redeem it for the discounted points. It kept coming up as the normal points once i clicked through. I thought i should try again after today's issues, to see if it's fixed this bug, and now the click through with this discounted rate is working.
Hope it's helpful for anyone with points to use up!

  • Do you need to be a new member or do you receive some sort of activation code that extends out your current membership?

    • I actually was on a trial membership. It asked me whether i still wanted to activate it anyway. I did and it cancelled the trial. I'm not sure if the same thing will happen to any existing paid membership.
You might need to look at the t&cs on the telstra page.

    • tnc: if you are an existing Prime member, your selected Prime membership period (3, 6, or 12 months) from Telstra Plus will be added to your Amazon.com.au account. Your existing Prime membership will be temporarily paused when the new period activates and will automatically resume once your selected period ends.

      confusing

  • Dang 960 points short of 32k for 12 months.

    • Can you try making a prepayment to your account? Assuming points earned is based on $ spent on your account.

      • I couldn't find an option to prepay, you can only topup a prepaid service.

        • I think you can just BPay to the details on an old bill

          • @ozbozb123: There is no bill for my internet, I checked and it said only an receipt can be downloaded.

            • @nadan: Have you tried in the app clicking Payments, Previous Bills and then downloading the PDF?

On a side note, interestingly my app is showing a really old account and not my current one. Probably to do with all of their outages over the last day and a half

Ohh I see what you mean. Yeah I'm only getting a receipt now as well. The app used to show me the full bill.

  • Tried to redeem - took me to Amazon - not eligible for this account
Now I lost my points. Dang

    • thts scary

    • You can redeem the Telstra code once your current membership runs out.

Or ask on chat for a points refund.

      • cant find the code to redeem..

    • I had the same thing back in February! Still trying to get them to refund my points … been an absolutely hilarious experience with Telstra saying it's an Amazon issue and Amazon saying it's a Telstra issue. Spoke to someone in Telstra last week and his initial reaction was "That ticket number was opened in February, are you sure you've given me the correct number?".

Anyway, long story but essentially, if you have an existing Amazon Prime membership that was obtained via Telstra points, then you can't claim the voucher until your Amazon subscription expires. It says that your existing Amazon subscription will pause, but that is only if your existing Amazon subscription was one you purchased through Amazon directly. If you have an Amazon subscription via the Telstra Plus points, the activation will fail. Unfortunate that that wasn't made clear at the time of purchase.

As long as you still have an active Telstra Service, then you should be able to redeem the voucher when your Amazon subscription expires by going to the "Manage" page on the Telstra Plus site (hub.telstra.com.au/dashboard - there should be a Manage tab at the top). In there you should see the link to redeem your subscription.

If you are like me, and no longer have an active Telstra account, then seems you are out of luck and have to just keep trying to get them to refund your points. I've been trying to get a refund since April (which is when I realised that my voucher has disappeared because I no longer have an active Telstra service).

      • Activate a prepaid service on long expiry? You can even activate the $15 one on long expiry. Get a new number and also get a $10 JB perks voucher and a free GG burrito

        • I asked Telstra Support if that would work and they assured me that it wouldn't. They even asked the Telstra Plus team who also confirmed it wouldn't work.

But I think I'll just give it a go and see.

    • Same wtf

      Activation failed

This account is not eligible for this offer

      • Do you have an active membership?

If so, I think you need to wait for current membership to end before you can apply this one

    • have you used this deal previously? it doesn't work a second time.

it took me multiple attempts to get the points refunded. Telstra said talk to Amazon, Amazon said talk to Telstra.

      • Are you serious?? That's the worst why don't they mention that?

Yes I claimed it before using points a few years ago.

  • 250 points short for 3 months 😩

    • I'm 1,000 short for 12 months.

  • How to you know your eligible and not sure what they mean your current Amazon account paused and new account.
First off am I eligible and as a current prime member can I get this and what happens to my current.

  • I am getting this after i click on redeem

    No Offers Available

There were no offers associated with your Telstra ID.

  • If you've every redeemed this previously on your Amazon Account, it wont work a second time

  • So what happens when I am a prime member currently with Amazon paid to Amazon? I have enough points for 6 months but I don’t want to use it if it pauses my Amazon one.
I think I have till sept on my Amazon one so what should I do forget it?
Don’t want to loose my points either.
What a shambles it should just extend your sub with Amazon not pause it.

  • Tried this but it didn’t work for me, thanks anyway OP. Hopefully works for other people

  • Didn’t work for extending existing membership last time. It was a struggle going back between amazon and Telstra to get a refund.

    • Is your "existing membership" redeemed from Telstra points or paid directly on Amazon?

      • Redeemed from Telstra points back when T-plus provided redemption codes to claim/extend prime membership.

  • Keeps failing due to a 'technical issue'. Couldnt be bothered spending an hour++ with Telstra support (again, after fetch mini ordering issues) - standard Telstra fare..

  • I had 3 months added to my current Prime. It was a bit temperamental, at first the page showed my membership ending in August 2026. A couple of minutes later I refreshed the page and it had changed to August 2027, the correct date.

  • pity this discount didnt apply to gift cards ….

    • 3 months of Prime for 12,000 points is worth $19.75.
Given issues people have had redemptions not working for their Amazon account, may as well just get $20 of Amazon gift cards for 12,600 points - very little difference in value and much less risk gift cards wont work.

  • Probably a dumb question, but does anyone know how to create a Telstra ID if I can't remember what the name was that I signed up with? It was all the way back in High School, and I can't remember whatever variation I used at the time.

  • I used Telstra points to extend my membership previously & notice that on the Prime Membership page it says:
    "Prime Plan:
    Partner Billed"

I presume this means this offer wouldn't work?

I'm sure I have used it twice before as it was quite use of Telstra points at that time.
