But the main problem is I have an ATX PSU (Seasonic Vertex Plat 1000W) in my Lian Li A3, so with that configuration there would only be 2mm of clearance with this GPU (if the specs are to believed) and I'm not taking that risk.
Also, why am I even considering this GPU when I already have a 4070 Ti and I literally just play Europa Universalis IV 90% of the time

As far as I'm aware 16GB will be enough for 4k gaming for the next couple years & by then the next generation will (hopefully) be out and would give more performance with the savings on not buying the super rather than paying $1k more in a few months.
and if no new GPUs come out, then game companies will have to target a max of 16GB VRAM anyways
@tries: I do agree that the 5080 should have at least 20GB of VRAM, but AI companies/local users make higher VRAM cards ridiculously priced
@tries: I've noticed limitations on 16gb for 4k with path and ray tracing already from online comments. I feel like I'll be making a mistake buying something that's already limited . But you are right the financial burden is great for going with potential super range.
Also my alternative was the Sapphire Pure 9070xt which is one of the better smaller 9070xts, ATL at $929
@maverickjohn: Won't you already be using DLSS at 4k anyway with RTX 5080? That should lower the VRAM usage for those few games that really pushes RT.

I'm honestly not sure but I do like to play things properly in 4k with all ray and path tracing. I'm also ok with 30 fps I'm not too fussed about reaching 60 fps.
@maverickjohn: 😵 30 fps no way. 60 is minimum. Definitely see the difference feels so much nicer to play at 60.
That's like $1k of VRAM before anything else. Probably $2k+ retail after Nvidia and the AIBs take their cut, just in VRAM costs. Good luck finding a deal!

It's as much as used 4080s go for on eBay but with warranty and free shipping too
I think 4080 supers still have physx where 5080 drops, hence why they held their value.
I find the $570 difference against the 9070 xt hard to justify. But ray tracing is important to me. I just still think 16gb is limiting. So I will either buy a 9070xt or wait til the 5080 super or 5090 SE
Well you could think about it this way rrp on release for 5080 was $999 usd which would make it about $1430 aud but if we consider import tax, au retail markups etc it would be closer to 1500-1600 or maybe even more. Is it a steal?? Not the biggest but its not a bad deal at all, considering current climate.
You could also get a 9070XT and a $100 item for "free"

I bit the bullet and bought an asus 4070Ti at $1419 last Dec for the $100 egift card return, and the gift card was delivered in June after 5 rounds of various chasing and compliants to NSW fair trading eventually
