Would have hopped on this if bambu labs didnt keep continuing their shitty business practices
For those in the know: Ocraslicer (stealth mode) + LAN Only + Developer mode
Any reason why you would use Orcaslicer vs Bambu Studio?
@nightelves: They are all a fork of each other, Orcaslicer is effectively a drop in replacement for Bambu studio. They look identical but Orca has more settings you can tune and came to the table when Bambu was doing shady shit with their cloud. So Orca is the go to when you want to ensure everything stays offline and doesn't touch Bambu servers.
@DragonDrew: With Bambu Studio, Bambu Lab can do shady shit monitoring your prints. With Orca Slicer (stealth mode), you can do your own shady shit.
That price is tempting me…
I brought one of these under a month ago and am already at 250 print hours. The best thing i have brought in a long time.
What have you made?
Can anyone with practical experience weigh in on getting an X2D combo over the P1S combo (with AMS1/2)?
I like the sound of the X2D being able to print more types of filament due to the heated chamber. Just gauging whether that's worth $450~.
Once you print supports with a different filament, it’s hard to go back. In my opinion the $450 is definitely worth it.
X2D has dual nozzle, much better then single nozzle, Use PLA and Petg as support or vice versa.
I thought these were supposed to be newb-friendly but I keep seeing many screwed up prints and wasted hours of time and filament and other issues on the Bambu subreddit. Is seems very picky about filament and settings.
Never owned a 3D printer and I'm considering a P2S Combo but I want something as close to plug and play as possible.
Mate I was a newbie and this gadget is absolutely worth buying!
When it screws up there is normally a reason and it is me.
I little thing like touching the build plate surface with hands, leaves grease and this results in failed adhesion and thus failed prints. (I touch the non printable edges, if I do touch the printable area, I wash the plate)
There are very good guides on the Bambu Lab site on doing just about everything.
Then again, start doing crazy stuff like not telling the machine what filament you are printing with and of course issues happen, same with hardware changes.
When you start experimenting with higher end filaments, research and learn first, then take your time with whatever you start working on.
If you believe it is see a model on makerworld, send it to the printer and it will simply print in PLA or PETG, then you are probably right, it will just print.
But step outside and not do the preparation and you are asking for issues.
Not dry your filament (PLA is usually fine, but not always.) then you start getting issues. PETG is usually fine as well, but not always.
With TPU and almost everything else, it must be dried properly.
Lastly it really depends on what you want to print.
Just seen another "28-hour print crapped out at the very end… " post on reddit. Then people told him he used the "wrong" infill.
Doesn't sound very plug and play. I'll hold off another year.
Retravision is doing $100 off if you spend over $1,000 and $50 off if you spend over $500.
For example, this offer is making P2S with AMS2 Pro combo $998.00 with free delivery and P1S with AMS Combo $749.00 with free delivery.
If you want them without the combo, then it's $499 for P1S and $799 for P2S.

BMCU 370C on Ali express if you want to make your own AMS and save some coin. Around $100 give or take.
Its a nice little side project
I bought the P2S combo at officeworks a week ago and price beat retravision. $1043 or something like that. Grabbed some filament and I’ve been printing stuff everyday just from what’s on their maker world. It’s been awesome. I was waiting for some prime day sales on filament which didn’t happen so I ordered from siddament.
If i put this in my bedroom am I going to be vaping plastic particles?
Yes
good deal cr4p company
