Hi all,
I'm looking to stock up on whey protein powder and was wondering what everyone is buying these days.
Focal Nutrition’s Australian WPC is currently:
2kg for $113.90 delivered - $56.95/kg
4kg for $215.84 delivered - $53.96/kg
I previously bought 2kg for $71.18 during a christmas sale, so the current price feels quite a bit higher.
Is Focal Nutrition still one of the best options for value but are brands like Bulk Nutrients, Amino Z, VPA or others better now?
What protein powder are you currently buying and what price per kilogram would you consider a good deal?
Thank you and look forward to hearing from you all
I found this website via a reddit thread: https://affordahouse.com.au/best-cheapest-protein-powder-aus…
It gives a breakdown of price, but also takes into account quality of the different types of protein. Unlike the other website posted in this thread it has dozens of different protein sellers (the other site looks to just cover the big supermarkets).
I've used BulkNutrients for years, but after reading through this website ended up changing from their WPC to Micellar Casein to save a few dollars, and it still suited my needs as a slow release is fine as I am just looking to hit overall daily protein targets rather than focussed on something quick acting.
Surprisingly I actually prefer the more powdery/thicker texture of the Micellar Casein over WPC, which as I only mix with water (and not with milk) found the WPC a bit too thin/watery at times.
Unfortunately BulkNutrients put up their prices on 1 July, but they're still very competitive for quality options.
