To everyone who has jumped aboard the Jackdaw, shared their adventures, posted screenshots, shared gameplay, and celebrated this launch with us: thank you.
We've also been following your feedback closely. Many of you have helped us identify issues that need attention, including localization and VO issues affecting some territories or the 30FPS cutscene bug on PC.
We want you to know that we hear you, we appreciate every report, and our teams are already working on fixes that will be rolling out very soon. In the meantime we invite you to flag any issue on our Bug Reporter | Ubisoft (https://www.ubisoft.com/.../black-flag-resynced/bug-reporter).
To celebrate this milestone and thank you for your support, we're granting the Crimson Storm sails to customize your Jackdaw, along with 1500 Animus keys that can be used to purchase unique items from the Exchange.
These rewards are available for free to every player who purchased Black Flag Resynced and will remain available for a limited redemption period.

  • Don't forget to claim your Shipmate Monkey also.

    ASC-BFR-PMK-000

  • I would play it if they brought back the Kenway’s Fleet companion app.

  • Server looks to have shit the bed

    • Make sure you use the "Go To Deal" button, the link in the text is broken.

  • Maybe I'm just a grumpy old gamer but I remember when cosmetic appearances were unlocked via In game efforts, not redemption codes and credit card swipes.

    • Iirc you can pay to speed up xp progress as well

      • Surely that's what cheat-codes or an in-game dev console are for? To speed up progress, you should be able to, for example, press "~" and type a command like "+xp 5000".

Charging for this kind of thing in a full-priced game is insane.

Devs need to either make a full-priced game or make a free-to-play game. Trying to apply free-to-play monetization tactics to a full-priced game is absurd.

As soon as I see mention of things like "1500 Animus Keys", I'm getting gacha vibes, which means I'm running in the other direction as quickly as possible.

        • It's completely free and optional.

I've played all the AC games and never bought or felt I needed to buy the Microtransactions packs.

Ubisoft gets criticised a lot but tbh they have some of the best practices in games. Compared to Rockstar for example, Ubisoft is a saint. Sadly many people don't see it that way.

          • @DingoBilly: Ubisoft is basically charging for what would have been, in the past, a cheat code or free mod content.

If you pay full-price for a game, you should get 100% of the content, and have access to any optional "cheats" to speed advancement out of the box. DLC should be reserved for meaty expansion content that adds significant new content to the game.

Anything else is unacceptable. Many of us remember a time before this kind of nonsense existed, and are going to keep criticising it until it stops.

            • @axyh: Unfortunately DLC and in game purchases have proved to be extremely profitable.

Paid skins and pay to win cheats have been around for over a decade. I dont like it but its time to read the room, all triple A games are going to have some element of paid extra content.

At this point Im just glad games arent charged by subscription (although some platforms are trying to head in that direction)

              • @shiver: I agree that there's a strong incentive for developers to do this. But it's only profitable because gamers engage with it.

The problem is as much (if not more) with gamers as it is with developers.

They need to realise that every time they buy DLC, every time they jump on "free" DLC, every time they engage with this entire load of nonsense, they're enabling and justifying the whole thing to developers and publishers. They're helping to ruin gaming.

If players boycotted low-effort DLC and in-game purchases entirely, the whole thing would stop.

            • @axyh: I mean… You say many of us remember a time…

I honestly don't remember a time Ubisoft wasn't a scummy, greedy company that always tries to squeeze every dollar they can out of everyone.

I think the Assassin's Creed games are overhyped crap. And every time I go to play one and think "Maybe it will be different this time" I'm reminded why I had Ubisoft games.

Ubisoft putting 100.00 worth of DLC on day one is exactly what I expect from Ubisoft. They're a joke.

Also it will never stop because Chinese markets buy the crap out it. Blame the horse armour in Skyrim.

  • They want how much money for a remaster of a thirteen year old game?

    • About the same as Nintendo…but its Ubisoft, give it 6 months and they will practically be giving it away.

  • @evilgenious448 with the mini map gone, how do players figure out if they are about to enter a restricted area? I am constantly triggering fights when running across roof tops and ending up in restricted areas.

    • Just started the game so not far enough in to answer this yet. I will get back to you with an answer when I figure it out, but from memory, I think the coloured line under the compass tells you when you enter restricted area if it goes red?

      • Yeah thats only AFTER you enter not before. There is no way to avoid the areas

  • Honestly, it's kind of unbelievable to me that people pay full price for essentially any game, but particularly a single player game. Why the urgency to waste money?

    • What a strange take. You expect studios will survive if games don't sell at launch?

      • Maybe it doesn't matter. But do people think about the studio survival as a major part of the decision when buying games at launch? If so, why such charity?

        • I don’t think it’s that deep. Most are people probably just look forward to it and want it as soon as it’s available. It doesn’t really apply in the case of a remake, but avoiding spoilers is another reason.
Even if it’s a single-player game there’s some benefit to playing it while it’s ‘hot’. Something that sucks about playing an old game, watching an old show, etc. is finding someone to talk to about it.
