        We did. Yes, a Chardonnay but that’s rotated off now. Listing with airlines more often are on rotation as opposed to a permanent listing.

        Equally we’ve supplied Finnair and Air Canada in the recent past. Cheers! R

    That’s $34 a bottle delivered. Not sure you could say it’s “ridiculous”.

    The argument I would make is that business class wines are still quite average, which is worse flying as you lose some sense of taste. Eva air business had some of the better business class offerings (eg Dom Perignon), but nothing beats Qantas first class (Krug, Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay, etc)

    I generally prefer lounge anyway, given you can actually taste the drink.

      @ozbking Fair point. Wine does taste differently at altitude and airlines take that into account when selecting their lists - some even taste and evaluate at altitude prior to selection.

      The better carriers invest heavily in their wine programmes and the likes of Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qatar and Emirates regularly feature some very serious wines both in the air and on the ground. They'd be amongst the top Cellars in the Sky as measured by Skytrax.

      Equally, flying business varies enormously between airlines and you're right some are better than others. Cheers! R :-)

        Used to be. Qf J is sub par at best. Food is close to inedible. They have "partnered" with celebrity chefs to have their names on the menu, that's about it. Wine list is no better and deteriorated over the last ten years.

        Sq and the likes make it slightly more fancy with pre-select meals - but meh.

        Yes. Same. Eat on the ground and sleep once on the plane.

          @SetTheFaqUp: QF J food is terrible, and can they get rid of that stupid steak sandwich. Also, I love pepe saya butter on sourdough, but not when the butter is near frozen and the sourdough is almost as cold, and also incredibly stale.

          Best QF J food I have ever had was home style lamb sausage rolls, and they also gave us a little block of wattle seed koko black. That was amazing. On a domestic flight though

      I flew Qantas first class and I was disappointed with the wine list. It was nice but not amazing. I found myself drinking alot of Pommery Louise even though I'm not a champagne fan, to get value for money.

      Parents flew Singapore first and they had way way better wine.

      All flights were on points.

      Ive never had an amazing business class wine on Qantas. Plenty of nice ones, but nothing amazing. The only one that I remember was a Heirloom shiraz but that can be bought at under $30.

        @PCHammond Wine is always subjective and everyone's experiences will differ.

        One reason we referenced airline selection is that these programmes are independently assessed. Business Traveller's Cellars in the Sky Awards have been running for 40 years and are regarded as one of aviation's most respected wine competitions. Qantas and Singapore
        Airlines both continue to feature strongly in those awards.

        Personal experiences inevitably capture only a small part of the global airline landscape and are often shaped by the routes, cabins and carriers we've personally experienced. Like you, I've had great wines on some airlines and not so great wines on others. Cheers! R :-)

          @RD ADL: If that is anything to go by (2026), Qantas J is the new cattle class. Pretty consistent with personal experience on a recent flight with QF (unfortunately, other preferred carriers are booked out).

          Qantas is no where to be seen in J.

          CX and SQ tops the chart for APAC based airlines.

          First class is out of reach as redeeming points for 4 is impossible and all J flights are self funded. Needless to say, QF is far from being preferred with competition from QF and SQ. Just an inferior product on the ground to inflight.

            @SetTheFaqUp: I'd agree Qantas probably doesn't have the best hard product globally, particularly on some aircraft types.

            That said, the soft product, wine programme and overall service proposition remain highly competitive when compared with its peers globally and continues to be recognised by organisations such as Skytrax and Business Traveller.

            I thought in the link you shared that Qantas had won Gold Medal for the Business Class Inflight with the Oakridge 864 Drive Block Funder & Diamond Vineyard Chardonnay 2023, but I might be wrong.

            It's also worth remembering that all of our views - mine included - are influenced by the routes, airlines and cabins we've personally experienced, which can be a relatively small sample of a very large global industry. Cheers! R
