Only 105 4K discs are available, whereas before there would be over 600. Only 6 movies under $30, two of which by a staggering two cents. Definitely wait for a 20% or more off.

Prices on 4K have gone up almost entirely across the board since the 20% off sale. Via Vision, Imprint, Umbrella and some of the exclusives are unchanged but most everything else is more expensive. Game of Thrones 4K is up to $500 now. Harry Potter went from $129 to $200.

Ugh, I've been holding off adding too much more to my collection while I procrastinate on sorting out a more comprehensive display/storage solution.
Hoping JB will continue stocking physical media as long as possible. I recall seeing videos of various JB stores gutting their media sections and was worried that a nation wide purge was imminent. Fortunately, that hasn't happened yet, but I'm not prepared to be complacent just yet.
Sentiment for physical media may be at an all time high but whether that's translating to positive sale figures I cannot say.
The one near me changed from physical media to pure land fill in its isles.

Til companies cut off your access citing licensing restrictions and expiry dates and you're left with nothing after spending hundreds or thousands.. Or they pull your favourites from live streaming services.
Unless you're sailing the seven seas.
But then you're also paying for hard drive storage space, nas or nas systems, etc etc…
I've gone the other direction, personally, and have started rebuilding our cd collection.
Whilst I'm not going crazy for dvd and blu rays, I expect to still maintain a modest physical library. If you're concerned about space, we found a vintage chest of drawers we're going to restore and reinforce, and each drawer can easily fit 240cds for example. It's much more space efficient than shelving.
I'd be 'okay' with digital, if the whole, cheaper costs, handling and management ACTUALLY applied to customers. But ultimately it's just allowing monopolies to control prices and charge you whatever they want. Pocketing the previous shipping and manufacturing expenses.
Digital is cheaper, more environmentally friendly and easier to handle.
This is correct however has much more restrictive in terms of ownership. Digital you essentially own a license to access said media. The license is non transferable and subject to company you purchased from to continue to provide access.
Recently PlayStation notified that they will be deleting 551 movie titles from users’ library. Not “we’re no longer providing you a download to the movies you purchased”, but “we’re removing your downloads of the movies you purchased from your hardware”.
Hell no to digital. You never truly "own" the digital content you've purchased, you're just hiring it until it gets taken down some day.
Sony's done it. Sony will do it again with all PS3 content, stating we will be able to redownload digital games and content we've purchased "for the foreseeable future". Their phrasing.

What about if I want to watch House of Flying Daggers - a movie I saw at my local Reading cinema back when released, which made 100 millions dollars - oh wait, it's not available to buy? There's 30 different blu-ray releases available though.
