Though if you approach this like Minecraft, this may be the kind of game you'd never want to sell and would always want to be able to play at any time.

Great game. The only game in my opinion worth getting a Switch 2 for at this stage, hopefully the new fire emblem/zelda/mario is decent.

Because of the toy sale it's was spread out to November 6. So I've got an extra 2 months

@OhNoUShiz: It is. But for me I'm buying it as a Christmas present and trying to beat the price increase.
By doing layby I'm making my purchase date later which is good from a warranty/ consumer guarantee perspective…. Otherwise it is going to be under my bed for the next 6 months.

Note it's cheaper to buy the console and game separately, but both from target by using a $10 newsletter coupon for each purchase - $688 total.
Other than the logistics and the reduced price, the only difference is the bundle has the different packaging and a download code on a piece of cardboard, vs standard packaging and a "physical" copy of the game from buying separate.
Digital code means you can play without needing to put the cart into the console, but is non transferable/resellable etc.
"Physical" version is a game keycard meaning the game is still downloaded from the EShop, requiring a free account and internet connection and the cart in the console to play, but the licence lives with the cart so the game is lendable/resellable.
Buying the game outright as digital is as high as $129.95 on the EShop. So if you want the game and you want digital, or you are a box collector, buy this bundle.
Otherwise buy separate and save a few more dollarydoos.
