Private Internet Access (PIA VPN) 105% Cashback on 1-Month, 6-Month & 2-Year Plans for New PIA Customers @ TopCashback AU

240

Trixieb's Tips:

  • Best value plan is 2 years (+ 2 months) = AU$51.74 (estimate).
  • Pay with a card without international transaction fees. If using PayPal AU, there could be a currency conversion fee from PayPal AU. These fees are not eligible for cashback.
  • The tracked amount in your TopCashback account will be slightly lower than what you are charged. This is probably due to the currency conversion fees/taxes as Private Internet Access reports to TopCashback in USD which is converted to AUD. 105% cashback minus the fees/taxes.
  • Use a new email address for Private Internet Access if you have purchased before. The same payment card and same TopCashback account are fine.
  • If your order doesn't track, please cancel and request for a refund from Private Internet Access within 30 days under their 30-day money-back guarantee. Please do not submit a missing cashback claim as cashback could be rejected.
  • If you cancel for non-tracking, you can buy again. Use a new email address for Private Internet Access with the same TopCashback account. Same payment card is fine.
  • You can cancel auto-renewal after you have received cashback.

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback is eligible only on 1-month, 6-month, and 2-year plans. Cashback is ineligible on all other plans & products, including any upsold items.
  • Cashback is only eligible for New Private Internet Access Customers. Renewals are ineligible for cashback.
  • Private Internet Access is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any coupon codes not advertised on our platform.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards, vouchers, or store credit for partial or full payment. Cashback is also ineligible on purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • A post-purchase check will be conducted by Private Internet Access. The results, compared against the chargeback rate, refund rate, app usage rate, and fraud metrics, will determine the reversal of the sale. All support queries should be conducted via TopCashback, and not Private Internet Access.
  • Private Internet Access orders report to your account excluding GST and other taxes, and may show a further difference in purchase amount due to international conversion rates. This is beyond our control.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, DNS AdGuard, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • Accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • Return to TopCashback to click the 'Get Cashback' button for each new transaction.
  • Transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted or negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

Good to know

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • If any part of an order is cancelled, returned, exchanged, modified, or credited, the entire order will become ineligible and cashback will be declined.

For better tracking, use the TopCashback app, click the "Get 105% Cashback" pink button to the Private Internet Access website (not app), use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, DNS AdGuard, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave, close additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites after clicking from TopCashback AU as tracking will be lost.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

  • Israel…

    • Thanks, that prompted me to join.

  • The service is owned by Kape Technologies, a British-Israeli cybersecurity firm headquartered in Tel Aviv.

This is anything but private internet.

    • Why does that make it any less private?

  • Sounds like a good one. I'll give it a whirl!

  • Is it charged in AUD or USD?

    • Australian Dollars (estimate) as stated on the PIA website via TopCashback AU.

PIA seems to report in USD to TopCashback AU as there appears to be a currency conversion fee (USD to AUD) with the cashback that is reflected in your TopCashback AU account (similar to other VPN cashback offers via TopCashback AU).

  • Anyone else having problems paying? I have tried paypal with multiple cards, and manual payment and it says declined.

    • Try changing your email and it may work. Some of the payment rejections with the VPN companies are due to the system rejecting the email. I had a similar experience and it worked after changing my email.

      • Thanks, tried many email addresses and many cards. Thought it was a card problem but its just happening with every email and card.

        • That's odd. Did you use TopCashback app to PIA website, mobile data and Chrome browser?

          • @trixieb: Tried only on PC so far, various browsers. Will try the app.

  • ExpressVPN is showing 120% for me

  • I was half way through a 2 year subscription when I found out about it's ownership. Uninstalled immediately

  • Worked with Mobile Data and phone app, with Chrome but still not tracked. $50.80 tracked. Cost $0.94

  • Still havent see the cashback from the last deal back in nov.

Edit: best thought I check and it looks like it eventually got paid out. Took awhile.

  • It seems to be a great VPN though, rock solid! impressed so far.

    • Did you have the option for a 2 year plan?

      I’m not seeing one.

There’s a three year + 3 months plan, a one year plan or one month plan.

Only the one month would be eligible for cashback though according to the terms. Will check again after some sleep.

      • Think its valid for all of them, and it tracked.

        Title of post:

Private Internet Access (PIA VPN) 105% Cashback on 1-Month, 6-Month & 2-Year Plans for New PIA Customers @ TopCashback AU

        Post description and T&Cs:

Cashback is eligible only on 1-month, 6-month, and 2-year plans. Cashback is ineligible on all other plans & products, including any upsold items.

        • Thanks, but I already noted the T&Cs, which is the source of my question above.

When I visit the PIA website, the only plan option I'm presented with that is eligible is the one month plan, which I'm not going to bother with.

The other two plans showing for me are a 'one year', or a 'three year and three month'. I'd happily go with either, but neither qualifies for CB.

Which plan did you purchase @TerryTightwad?

          • @fookos: Did you visit the PIA website via TopCashback website/app? That's where I saw the 3 eligible options (1-month, 6-month, and 2-year plans) listed as per TCB terms. I clicked through TopCashback to PIA website.

Sometimes going directly to PIA or the VPN website (without TopCashback) does not show the options available for cashback. I've seen this with other VPN companies too. The landing page could be different.

TopCashback website/app are down at the moment and being fixed.

            • @trixieb: Was the 2 year, 2 months one included? They seemed to be the only options when I clicked. Cashback tracked.

              • @TerryTightwad: Yes. I recommended the 2-year (+ 2 months) plan in the post description as the best value.

The 2-year (+ 2 months) option was available and featured when I clicked via TopCashback.

          • @fookos: I got the 2 year one, but I believe its the 2 year 2 months.

          • @fookos: Just checked again. The eligible plans (1-month, 6-month and 2-year plans) at PIA via TopCashback seem to show when you use the TopCashback App to PIA website.

The plans were shown via the TopCashback website before when I last checked but not at the moment.

To purchase the eligible 2-year (+ 2 months) plan, please use the TopCashback App to the PIA website.

For better tracking, I usually use the TopCashback App, mobile data and Chrome for all my TCB purchases.

Offer ends today at 11:59pm AEST.

            All the best.

            • @trixieb: Many thanks :) I'm pretty sure I tried via TCB last night on the phone but it was pretty late and maybe it just didn't compute!

Correct plans showed up going via TCB tonight, and purchase made.

              Now, waiting for tracking success…

              EDIT: Success confirmed
