CyberGhost VPN: 120% Cashback on 1-Month, 6-Month & 2-Year Plans for New CyberGhost VPN Customers @ TopCashback AU

340

Offer ends today at 11:59pm AEST.

Trixieb's Tips:

  • Best value plan is 2 years (+ 2 months) = AU$64.74 (estimate).
  • Pay with a card without international transaction fees. If using PayPal AU, there could be a currency conversion fee from PayPal AU. These fees are not eligible for cashback.
  • The tracked amount in your TopCashback account will be slightly lower than what you are charged. This is probably due to the currency conversion fees/taxes as CyberGhost VPN reports to TopCashback in USD which is converted to AUD. 120% cashback minus the fees/taxes.
  • Use a new email address for CyberGhost VPN if you have purchased before. The same payment card and same TopCashback account are fine.
  • If your order doesn't track, please cancel and request for a refund from CyberGhost VPN within 45 days under their exclusive 45-day money-back guarantee (6-month or 2-year plans only). Please do not submit a missing cashback claim as cashback could be rejected.
  • If you cancel for non-tracking, you can buy again. Use a new email address for CyberGhost VPN with the same TopCashback account. Same payment card is fine.
  • You can cancel auto-renewal after you have received cashback.

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback is eligible only on 1-month, 6-month, and 2-year plans. Cashback is ineligible on all other plans & products, including any upsold items.
  • Cashback is eligible only for new CyberGhost VPN customers opening a new CyberGhost VPN account. Renewals are ineligible for cashback.
  • CyberGhost VPN is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any coupon codes not advertised on our platform.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards, vouchers, or store credit for partial or full payment. Cashback is also ineligible on purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • CyberGhost VPN orders report to your account excluding GST and other taxes, and may show a further difference in purchase amount due to international conversion rates. This is beyond our control.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, DNS AdGuard, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • Accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • Return to TopCashback to click the 'Get Cashback' button for each new transaction.
  • Transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted or negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

Good to know

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • If any part of an order is cancelled, returned, exchanged, modified, or credited, the entire order will become ineligible and cashback will be declined.

For better tracking, use the TopCashback app, click the "Get 120% Cashback" pink button to the CyberGhost VPN website (not app), use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, DNS AdGuard, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave, close additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites after clicking from TopCashback AU as tracking will be lost.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

  • So I get paid to have a VPN?

    • Yes. Are you new here?

    • This is customer acquisition cost.

you are really not the product. this is a legit company that chooses a different approach.
Instead of paying $$$ for advertising and trying to acquire customers. They just pay $ to each customer and hope that customer likes their service enough to continue paying full amounts after the plan.

  • Is there any restrictions as previously that you have to have certain number of days between these deals otherwise you won't be eligible for cashback?

      • Thank you.

  • How good is this VPN? Anyone got any overviews on this over the other main ones in the market?

    • It has China virtual location.

      • Free Chinese IP, I'm in!

      • Does it work in china ?

  • Good deal, wonder how long it takes to track.

    • From previous comments last year, tracking could be as quick as half an hour to more than an hour. Allow a few hours for tracking as delays do occur.

      • 47 minutes for me just now.

  • Tracked $64.74 AUD (60.55) - $72.65 cashback Profit $7.91

    • Same here. Tracked within 45 minutes in Google Chrome incognito and with wifi

  • Does cashback get rejected if you cancel auto renewal before you receive cashback? Or is it just a precaution?

  • Ok here comes the next ‘most purchased - never used’ vpn for ozbargainers!

  • CyberGhost is owned by Kape Technologies, a British-Israeli cybersecurity and digital privacy corporation founded by Israeli billionaire Teddy Sagi. However, the VPN service itself was originally founded and is operated out of Bucharest, Romania, where its primary development and IT teams are based.

thank you for your attention to this matter

    • So are most technology companies.

    • Yeah, came here to post this for those that care. They are the same owners as ExpressVPN and a lot of people avoid ExpressVPN for the ownership issues. It's a fair warning imo.

      • Can I ask what the warning is about though? I tried to ask in the other thread. Is there a valid reason to be concerned with privacy? or is it just phobia over the word Israel and people wanting to boycott? I tried to find information about this and can't find anything.

        • I've been using it for quite a while and haven't had any issues so far. I also found a TechRadar article from 2024 saying they passed an independent audit twice.

          https://www.techradar.com/computing/cyber-security/independe…

          • @nehemiah: Yeah thats what most seem to say about all the "Israel" VPNs, so most likely a personal gripe about Israel which has nothing to do with the deal. Had someone the other day say they don't shop at Coles due to Israel being linked to Coles, which seems a bit far fetched.

        • Sorry - missed your reply and question. It mainly relates to the fact that it is owned by Kape Technologies (as per dealmaker's comment above) and in particular Teddy Sagi (the Israeli billionaire owner) who reportedly donated $1m to the IDF during the war on Gaza.

As I say, it may or may not be a deal breaker for some but a fair warning for those for whom it is.

          • @smifter: Good stuff, even better so. Will happily accept his donation towards my cause i.e. profit. I don’t plan on using or installing anywhere. :-)

  • used paypal and was charged in aud of $64.74 without conversion fees

  • Once again, thanks OP

  • @trixieb I recommended this to my mate, who got double charged (who knows what happened but it was his error and not this company’s).

TCB successfully tracked the item upon purchase (despite double purchase) and CyberGhost VPN were great, issuing a refund. Given he was issued a refund and TCB still has the item listed as tracking (which will fail as he was given a refund), if he was to repurchase via web browser, will he still be eligible to get 120% back if he was to re purchase (given there is already a tracking that will fail in TCB)?

      • Does this mean you can do this multiple times? Or is that only if cashback fails? Eg, just one per TCB account?

  • Be careful if signing up and using an email with the + sign e.g.. joedoe+cyber@gmail.com. It allows signups but getting password is an issue as it says Email not recognised. I had to get onto CS to send me a Password reset direct link as no password was given from the get go.

    • But can you sign up multiple times with casback?

      • No idea but wouldn't chance it without clarification if more than one per TCB account permitted within x period of time.

        • I wouldn’t chance it either, but would like to know, because if you kept doing it all day long you would soon have enough to buy an investment property.

    • had no issues signing up. after completing the payment, I was able to set password without any problems.

        • Yep

          • @ShadowSaver: Same, signed up an hour ago with + appended in username and I was prompted to set a password after signup.

  • Does anyone know how long it will take for this to track in TCB?

  • This tracked.. but anyone else notice that their transaction got refunded?

    • Mine wasn’t refunded but will monitor

      • i didn't even cancel it… just checked cyberghost too and its refunded there too.

        • 36 hours in and all good. How long after buying were you refunded, perhaps your bank failed to release funds?

          • @Borg: dunno. Never got an email about cancellation.

I got two lines on my 28 degress - one with transaction and then one with refund (hard to tell).

    • Yes mine got refunded randomly too. logged in to confirm it was refunded. There was many problems paying for this too.

  • Disapointing it got refunded for no reason. I would pay again, but then theres a risk of it not tracking.

  • Signed up last night. Order hasn't been tracked yet. Should i cancel and re order again?

    • Its only showing as "105%" cashback now on TCB. If it were me perhaps wait a week or so and see what eventuates and then cancel and grab a refund. You have 45 Days so can test it out. There is a chance that they may refund you out of the blue as well as per above comments.

If you need a VPN, I'd be more inclined to wait for a NORD or even Surfshark 98% CB over this 105% as they are better, Nord in particular.

  • How come I can subscribe to "CyberGhost" on Ozbargain to be notified of future deals? It doesn't show up on its own page with subscribe button like other companies…

  • doesn't mention a new customer limit - could you make more than 1 account and get more cashback?
