I've also tried to use AP to pay for a GC at Kmart a while ago during one of these promos and it doesn't work. DOes anyone know why it doesn't work? coz Kmart accepted AP at the time I tried.

@cloudy: I didn't use self checkout as I had to choose how much I wanted on the gift card and have it activated. But yes, tap Afterpay card like a credit card once added to your Google Wallet.

Grabbed a Wish card, self checkout, chose $80, waited for attendant to scan her badge, paid via Afterpay card in Apple Wallet. Went through fine.
Afterpay popped up a minute or so later saying you owe 4 x $15 ($20 promotion applied)

do you mean the Afterpay Card doesn’t work for buying gift cards, or that the gift card purchase doesn’t receive the promotion?

the $70 woolworths gift card I bought from afterpay is like a Prezzee gift card, and can be swapped to other gift cards, but need to swap in full amount. Maybe other gift cards from afterpay can be swapped too.

I got both offers - an instore (any instore) and a Big W specific one. The big W one could be used online or instore is my understanding.

If you have the afterpay plus
Afterpay Plus is used for all stores just like a bank-issued credit card.
Afterpay Card is used for ONLY Afterpay-supported merchants which Myer is one of them.
So just go shop in-store and pay/tap with Afterpay Card on Google Wallet/Apple Pay.

From my past experience, Afterpay will deduct the $20 off total order, so you only pay the rest in 4 over time.

That it only works if you pay for the order using afterpay?

Can confirm you can. Did both the in-store and the $80 spend at Big W on Wish card using Apple Pay and got charged $95 for $130 value. In hindsight you can do $130 on Wish card and just ask for a split payment of $50 and $80.

Yes you can, I just did. Bought 50 dollar wish gift card at BigW and paid 35 with Afterpay (non plus) card.
I received $20 off $80 spend at BigW and $20 off $100 spend at Myer. Went jn store this afternoon and no problem at Big W. However at Myer I tried to pay $100 for Coles Group gift card without success. The staff was very patient and let me try quite a few times snd she even re sent the transaction to the terminal couple of times. My phone vibrates then beeps twice and got the fail message. This is at Chermisde Myer. Couldn't buy.

I used IOS iPhone, I got declined when I tried to use apple pay directly (just double tap like any other bank card) when purchasing gc yesterday. Then I found that triggering Apple Pay from selecting ‘pay in store now with apple’ in afterpay app will work.
I use Samsung phone. I am not sure if AfterPay has the similar function for Android phone. I will check. Thanks.
Did you have the right card for the first payment selected as well? (If you don't have the no payment upfront) I remember once at JB I had the wrong card selected and it took me a while to realise. I bought a $100 gift card at Myer Eastgardens today with the promo and it worked instantly.

You can but can only use it instore. Also with JD instore, can also split payment to redeem 2 offers. myself and wife had JD offers, redeemed it both in 1 purchase by splitting payment.
