  • Can someone just connect a long stick and make it a normal vacuum cleaner?

    • My question too. My old dyson animal is no longer good.

    • Then Dyson won’t be very happy with you using it on your boat mate.

      • just replying from my boat now

    • It says 'V8' family in the specs and looks like one, so my guess is you can…

    • Yes you can. This is just a V8 vacuum.

    • Yes that's what I have done with mine. It doesn't come with a wall mount which was disappointing, but my partner 3D printed one so problem solved there

    • You should try the long stick, let us know how it goes.

    • "don't disturb me while I'm cleaning my rooooooom"

    • Yes, but im my experience the stick is always first to wear out and not cheap as a replacement part. Unless you have one lying around already upgrading later probably not the best option.

p.s. check your models are compaible. Dyson the "masters of innovation" who continually cylce their attachment connection design (by downgrade) so you have to repurchase all your accessories might get ya here…

    • It's not about the long stick, it's how you use it.

    • yes just make sure it's compatible as there are different ones (older)

    • does it suck?

    • Yes. I bought this model and added a 2nd hand stick and fluffy head and change to battery to a ozito adapter. Awesome vacuum

      • That's awesome, there are so many different adaptors, which one did you get?

        • Just one off off amazon. Look for ozito/einhell

      • Does it work fine? Saw comments like - standard Dyson battery is Voltage: 21.6V, the ozito is only 18v. Dyson starts then turns off after 2secs etc

        • Quite a bit bulkier that hack/bodge isn't it?
Seems popular on Reddit. You can get generic Dyson batteries from eBay with much better power and 3x longer run time, under $45.

    • Yes, we use the long stick from our old V7 and works prefectly. I was very happy getting it recently for $200 from Myer, until I saw this post. The small motor head is also handy for car use.

      • The mini motorhead is awesome. It did incredible work on our car yesterday. I am very impressed.
I do have a blister from the trigger rubbing on my finger though. Will 3D print a trigger lock.

  • My 10years Dyson DC58 still working fine…..

    • These are/were so good. Just do a deep clean on the odd year and it'll keep going.

    • Our DC34 will be old enough to whip down to the pub in a couple of years.

Still rocking and when it kicks it, we'll keep the attachments running with 3d adapters.

  • v8 without the wand

    • harry potter is nothing without his wand…

      • Then, with a sigh, he raised his wand and prodded the silvery substance with its tip.

JK Rowling really had something else in mind

      • Pretty sure they use brooms.

  • The V7 and V8 is the same.

    • No it's not v8 has more power and suction than the v7

      • Sorry, I meant the wand is the same not the machines. I thought we were talking about wands.

  • You know you can just get the attachments?
Got them all free with the ultimate edition.

    • v8 ultimate you mean?

  • Will v7 attachments work on this?

  • Might be ATL. I’ve been eyeing this for a long time. Thanks

  • Thanks OP - missed out the last time but you saved me $40.

Will use my current V7 attachments on this new one and use these new attachments on my old V7 for the car.

  • Only $9.20 more than a single "official" Dyson V8™ Replacement Battery, and this comes with extra stuff attached to the battery, wow good deal XD

    • I personally wouldn't buy a Dyson battery. You're much better off getting an Ozito battery ($25 from Bunnos including charger) and adapter (under $20 from AE & even cheaper with cashback).

    • Paying retail is for suckers

    • See my post regarding aftermarket eBay batteries, much better. The Dyson warranty and runtime (power) is rubbish, and they are at least twice the price. Iykykm

  • Thanks OP purchased.

  • Can you also use your $30 off $150 spend code on top of the 20% off code?

    • Wanna know too

      • Both codes stack if you go to the store. Picked up the last one in Bayswater, VIC.
A big thanks to OP for posting this deal.
Now have to find the right Ozito adaptor!

    • I tried but didn't work. The $30 off didn't work for this item in general even without the store cash 20% off.

      • The $30 off is in store only. Did you try it in store or online?

        • Yep, works in store, final price was around $126.80

          • @Menace007: Thanks, confirmed for me as well. Final price was $129.20 ($159.20 less $30)

        • It worked for me and down to $89.2 as I had 2 vouchers of $20 each in my storecash wallet, thanks OP.

    • Yes. This worked for me, the guy in store was happy to help

  • Multiple Good Guys gift cards can be used in online checkout

    • Is there a limit of 2 still or has this limit been removed?

      • No limit for gift card in store

  • How is this deal not considered as targeted if store cash activation is required?

    • Not targeted, just sign up required.

“ Sign-up and Activate a 90 Day StoreCash> Digital Wallet to enjoy 20% off^ this product via a unique discount code until Sunday 19/07/26. Unique discount code is sent via SMS after Digital Wallet is activated. ”

      • Even if you don't have store cash

        • You don't need to have store cash. I'm not even sure what I signed up to but either way you just sign up, add card to wallet, wait 10mins then get an SMS discount code. Done.

          Thanks OP.

  • The cart is showing $199 for me. Price check, price beat brings it down to $194/-

  • Anyone else getting invalid promo code error?

    • I did, mine was the letter O instead of zero

      • Thanks mine was the opposite!

  • Hell yeah, our first Dyson after years of cheap Chinese handhelds. Will look at Aliexpress tubes to use it as a floor vac too

    • You'll need a head too, the included one is small as.

      • True

        • Hence why something like this was a better deal for your use case or anyone else looking to buy with a wand and a head….
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/965211
P.S I wouldn't buy the aftermarket crap for these

          • @spy: First and foremost I wanted one for the car, so I’m happy with this deal, but yeah that eBay one is great.

Surely an aftermarket wand will be fine.

      • There's 3 heads included, not sure what else you'd need.

    • marketplace is full of them

  • Does this work if I already have an account with them?

    • Yeah it’s a different system to their online store accounts

    • Check your email - as I got an 20% voucher for my existing storecash account this morning

  • StoreCash Activation system is not sending me the activation SMS after I submit the sign-up form. Did anyone have lucky getting the code recentliy?

    • i had the same problem. Turns out my phone filtered the SMS as spam, so found it in the spam folder. Managed to bag this deal with discounted gift cards and shopback on top of storecash discount

      • thank you so much for this - identical issue, haven't had to deal with SMS spams for a while so didn't even consider it.

great reminder for the discounted GC (5%) and cashback. I ended up using TopcashBack but noting the use of discounted GC should invalidate it.

  • Not good for cars . This is too bulky to maneuver around tight space, ie can't reach spaces under the seat

    • yeah, would need a kit like this to clean the nooks and crannies like the sides and under of the seats. Another $126. Dyson is never cheap.

      • My thoughts too, I'm not sure how they justify $126 for a couple of accessories! Does anyone have third party recommendations? The flexible hose attachment seems like it would be most useful for the use case.

        • third party kits are available on Amazon but then you won’t get complete performance experience there would always be a bit of ‘only if’.

  • Thanks OP. Got it for 129$ after 30$ in store discount and thr 20% discount.

    • Nice, they let you stack the vouchers?

      • Yes, they let me stack via chat and have it pick up around my area.

    • Got mine for $129 also with the $30 voucher. Bargain!

    • How? The $30 is an instore discount only? Did they allow this via online chat/did the order online for you that include both 20% and $30 ?

      • Yep, they did allow it via online chat.

        • Might give this a try… Im ready for rejection

    • Also able to stack with the $30 voucher.

  • Nice timing with vouchers and discounts, scored for $129

  • What's the $30 code for in-store?

    • targeted it seems to people on their marketing list who are probably dormant customers

  • bought this and am looking for a wand and motorhead to use as a normal stick vacuum - any recommendations?
having some regret as indeed I might have bene better off to just buy the full stick models without the hassle of looking for alternative stick and wand. I was hoping my other Dyson corded vacuum's attachment would fit but it didn't work out.

    • AliExpress. Not sure about the longevity though.
