The Edge 70 (and the Edge 70 Fusion) doesn't have a microSD card slot though, if that's something that matters to you.
This Edge 60 Fusion does have the microSD card slot.

Yep! I got the 60 and have a 512GB SD totalling 750 GB storage!
Good phone! No issues and battery lasts 2 days.
Only down side is the curved screen as it's impossible to select text at screen edges.
It's tough, I've dropped it many times and scratched the screen a bit (it's plastic and doesn't scratch).
Camera is slightly over sharpened but no issues.
Screen protectors don't stick too well because of the curve but can't complain- 0

@Buyingcrap: I did look on this so called "internet" but could only get a range of crappy AI versus type sites. I avoid using AI whenever possible. Thanks though.

Keep an eye on the everyday market when they have a 30% cashback deal. I went with the edge 60 pro over the 70, but I ended up paying 550 ish so in time it should drop

But even if not, their firmware QA is rubbish. Had a Moto Edge 40 for a year and they never fixed the choppy UI, buggy camera and numerous other issues.
Hope things have changed since then, but it made my Poco F3 at the time look decidedly like a saint in comparison.

I've had an Edge 50 Neo for the past 12 months and it regularly gets updates and is snappy and responsive. Camera app is weirdly resource heavy, but i use Gcam anyway so it doesn't really effect me.

Lol that's what I mean, I've never had that on any other brands phone where the camera bugs out. My Moto was set to 120hz and it wasn't running at it,.kept dropping to 80/90hz when I measured it. And they eventually fixed it a year later with an update but the other issues remained, also with charging it would massively overheat.

@adrianhughes1998: Admittedly I run mine at 60hz due to battery because I don't notice the difference, so couldn't tell you if it drops or not. But the camera issue is a non-issue for me as on my Poco F3 or any other phone i have always used Gcam due to the stark improvements. It should work better out of the box, i agree, but for me it doesn't matter. No heat issues on charging with the 50 Neo at least.

@witheredcouch: Yeah pretty big diff to me on my eyes between 60 and 120, I agree GCam is the much better bet but I'm too lazy these days to bother with all that on my phones.

That's what I have as my personal phone and it does everything it's supposed to.
I use proshot from the app store out of habit for the last 8 or 9 years and it again, does what it's supposed to.
Pocketable size is nicer than the edge 30 fusion it replaced and less edge (pronounced edge screen would often register touches when not needed, better case fixed it) but I'm interested in a new phone again and instill think I prefer the Motorola phones more than my work provided pixel phones.

Same here, no issues at all I love the phone. Two days battery, fast charge, snappy and responsive, no glitches in the UI whatsoever with any app including the camera. Same with edge 30 neo I had before.

Timely isn't a deal breaker but security updates until March 2029 is not all that much, to me that is something that put me off this phone.
Ended up with the nothing phone 3a lite which should be good up to 2031.
Motorola are meant to release a grapheneOS phone which is interesting and might be my next phone option- 2

There are variants. The JB Hi-Fi variant is the 12GB variant (increases to 16GB with RAM boost, but I keep it turned off, as 12GB is more than enough for me).

I've got an A34 and have been with Samsung for as long as I can remember, thinking of switching it up and trying the Motorolas in the near future.
How do these compare? All I do is text, call, Insta and OzBargain basically- 1
I found motorola to be by far better bang for your buck. Top end Samsung are better than top end Moto, but for budget / mid tier phones I'll go motorola.

You will like to stock Android experience and the famous Moto chop chop gesture for light and the twist twist gesture for camera. I can always turn on my camera before everyone!

If anyone else misses these Motorola gestures after switching to another phone maker. I found that the app "Shake Flashlight & Camera" on the Google Play store works pretty well as a replacement. The apps free and allows you to change the sensitivity etc (it has ads but they seem to only appear when you go into the app to change the settings).
I wish google would just adopt the feature into stock Android :(

I don't like the stock android, in comparison to Samsung. The Bluetooth dropdown shortcuts are terrible on stock android.

Only issue I have with this phone is the curved screen and lack of battery power,
My wife had a previous model, very thin and capable phone, but those were the 2 issue she had.
She replaced it with a G75 Motorola that had bluetooth issues that could not ne resolved. I see they stopped selling that phone so I can only guess they had issues.She dumped the phone and got the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro as an alternative, a bit more expensive but she is happy now.

But they are not comparable. This has double the RAM 12GB vs 6GB, double the storage 256GB (expandable) vs 128GB (non-expandable), a sharper display at 440 ppi vs 380 ppi, faster charging at 65W vs 45W and a better front camera at 32MP vs 12MP. Motorola is the better deal, except for software longevity.

was deciding between this and a samsung a17 for a work phone, picked this up yesterday, got it price matched with TGG who have it for $394, and then used a 5% gift card to pay.
honestly, it's a great phone for the price, it's thin, light, good screen, 120hz (vs the 90hz on the a17), optical fingerprint scanner works well, cameras feel good enough for a budget phone. it's been running through the various software updates, which have been an update to android 16, and various security updates. It comes with a lot of crapware installed though, I spent half the night uninstalling and disabling stuff. Once you do all of that, it does feel more or less like a stock android experience. The curved screen is annoying though, but if you can live with that, then it's a great phone for the price. bear in mind, the phone box for some reason has some weird perfume sprayed in it, really bizarre.

I bought one of these on last oz bargain sale at Bing Lee, can't recall the price maybe $499
Great phone, great battery life gets through a day of heavy use with still 50-60% left.Only gripe the curved screen looks nice but if you have a half decent case or protective shell it makes it difficult to touch the edge of the screen due to it curving down at the sides. Also I have only tried soft gel screen protectors and they don't last long they lift up and get dust under the tops and bottoms. But apart from that a great value midrange phone. I used to be a xiaomi budget fan boy but I think Motorola have taken my interest due to good value and local support I guess

Moto rocks! I have the 50 edge Neo comes with five year security update and got it for $313 delivered last year. I'd grab this if I didn't have the 50 tho 3 yrs a bit lacking…Moto is amazing value and features, I don't miss my prior Samsung's at all.. Fast and light , heaps of pros , no cons! Highly recommend them!

I have one too, the five year security updates and square edges made it a no brainer. I had previous Motorola's, still great phones but I found the curved screen a bit annoying and ultimately ended up being susceptible to damage and last two cracked through

I've got the cash saved for a new Pixel 11 Pro when they're released but I'm considering just going to a Motorola or maybe a Nothing phone this time. I keep saying I want the better camera but I rarely try to take nice photos with my phone these days. Outside of the camera I probably wouldn't know the difference.

You mean non-volatile memory as in a data storage card. The only expansion slot that a smartphone has ever had is a Micro SD card (data storage card) slot and it's becoming more a rarity on a smartphone. These manufacturers are starting to move away from it even on mid range smartphones.

Also what I have to chuckle at is that the processor in this phone is the same as the Moto Edge 40 that I had, just a re-badged one. So for the same price I paid, in two years elapsing, it's the same device just a bit of a bigger screen and a bigger battery. That's about it.
