Awesome price for one of the most underrated open world games of the last decade.

If you're a Mad Max fan, this is a must-play. Itperfectly captures the gritty, gasoline-soaked atmosphere of the movies. World-building, eccentric warlords, and rusty aesthetic of the (imaginary) outback, it's all there.

  • $2.50 AUD off Loaded for the Steam copy

And has been as low as $3.35 AUD off Gamebillet (an official store) only a few months ago

It's been hovering around this price for the last year and a half or so, so not too special of a deal imo

    • $2.50 AUD off Loaded(loaded.com) for the Steam copy

True, but with GOG you actually own the files forever without being tied to a launcher or needing a storefront's permission to play them (GOG's value proposition is very different). Worth the small premium for a lot of people.

Another Steam keys reseller. Also, you have to let the past go mate.

      • Gamebillet is not a keyshop/grey marketplace like Loaded, G2A, etc. Gamebillet is an official source

Fair call about the ownership/DRM side of it, but nevertheless good to let people know there are cheaper options out there for those who don't mind going through Steam

    • RECOMMENDED GRAPHICS:

      I was there….

Almost my same PC specs from back in the day.

      • I'm still there :(

    • Please stop buying everything off Steam, you're creating a monopoly.

      • Too late, the monopoly was already created a long time ago.

        • It's never too late. Or else you will have more subpar 'steam machines' for 2k

      • I have. I pretty much use my PS+ and grab the freebies from Epic and Amazon. Too many games unplayed to even want to get games on sale.

      • Ahh yes with all their anti-competitive practices.

  • This game is fun but a bit repetitive.

Pity, with a bit more polish it could have been the start of a really cool series.

    • Agreed. On PC at least I always found it funny/sad that there's a Downloadable Content menu item that never received anything to go in there.

      • Agree, same repetitive game play, gets boring after the second lightning storm (but great sound over headset thats for sure

        • Takes ages to get stuff done too

          • @serpserpserp: So true, how many times can you left, right, left, right, kick kick throw

        • Agree, just to agree

    • Exactly my thoughts! I've been playing it lately, and while the core loop definitely gets repetitive, the actual gameplay mechanics are still a lot of fun.

  • very fun game, this here is a sleeper im telling you

  • im going to pleasure myself with your twitching corpse, one of the pick up lines used on max within the game

    • whats's the point, GTA 7 is coming

    • Gonna be like 2 years til it's on PC lmao

    • GTA doesn't have a character named Chumbucket

      • Who dat

        • Doesn't matter. The name alone should be incentive enough if you're a Mad Max fan.

  • "But he's just a raggedy man!"

  • oh should be great on the steam deck!

    • Yep, it plays beautifully on SD! Really works well on a handheld, I think.

  • Got this on ps5. Still an amazing game to play in 2026.

  • Its more than a decade old now. It wasnt really anything ground breaking when it came out either.

  • If you're someone who enjoys roaming an open world and having encounters, but not necessarily completing the story, this is really fun. I reckon it's definitely worth $4.50.

They worked with George Miller, the director of Happy Feet Mad Max who'd been trying to get a new Mad Max film off the ground for years, so they got a ton of his ideas and artwork. Then they had a falling out, and took the story in their own direction.

Also, I'm told you can get it working in stereo so you can play it in 3D (not VR) on VR goggles/virtual desktop.

  • Best 6 out of 10 game you'll ever play.

Review that perfectly encapsulates this game.

  • I loved this game from start to finish. Car combat was a blast, Arkham style combat, impressive open world and surprisingly varied biomes.
