Both black and white available. They don't quite have the bang for buck for me (wishing I nabbed the PX8 when TGG had them for a similar price) but if anyone gets them, let us know your thoughts below.

the original hinge wasn't bad.
you don't see many compalints about it from XM2, XM3, XM4 which use the original hinge.
they screwed up XM5 hinge, and many other things by making the headband super thin. other issues were bad comfort from the thin headband and it slips off easier.
XM5 earpads were also made shallower and rounded, which together with weaker clamp from thin headband meant many head shapes were not getting good seal which is step 1 for ANC.XM6 just made the XM5 hinges slightly different design, with metal outer material. the core is still plastic.
XX made the hinges and headband fully metal.

Sound wise and battery life absolutely. ANC no. Very tunable due to PEQ but PX8 S2 sounds more enjoyable but quite a bit more expensive

Yeah I hear less ANC, but way better sound quality. The 630s have been this price not long ago.

I had the B&W PX8 S2 but the clamping force was too much, creating a pressure point on top of my head after about an hour. Impossible to use on international flights. Sold them. Read these Sony's have a much lighter clamping force… Trouble is I've never liked the Sony sound signature, they always sounded too clinical and stark to me, vs Bose Quietcomfort which were my previous go to. So I'm now deciding on these, hoping they have a much nicer sound, or stick with the Ultra 2.
I've also tried the Sennheiser Momentum 4 which had superb sound, but didn't have the playfulness of the Bose, and tried the Sonos Ace, which had terrible bass - pretty uninspiring even though it had some thumb… it looked great though, so many they can improve on the next gen.

I just bought an "as new" PX8 S2 and I am quite impressed by the build quality. Sounded bright initially but adjusted to it. After slight eq it sounded very good with satisfying bass, airy treble and overall fun sound signature. Timbre seems pretty accurate.
Also, I found it to be very comfortable. QC Ultra 2 would be closest to it sound wise but not as resolving and muddier mid-bass/mids. Bose wins in comfort and ANC though.Sony XM6 sounds muddy with bloaty bass but I read that Collexxion has slightly better tuning.

I think they are saying it's should be that price. not that it will drop to $499.
tbh it's not half wrong XM6 was $499 and already saw it available for $350 ish.
the retail is even more inflated for XX (which is why comment above says it should be $XXX), which I think is $899. so I think half that is definitely possible.
