  • Heads up. No free incoming sms while roaming without a roaming pack.

    • Such a massive deal breaker… So many things have 2FA these days that it's a necessity for anyone that travels.

    • Interesting, I'm planning to move to Optus from Boost due to poor coverage in my area and the following is the Optus 'chat' told me. Can someone please confirm they can receive overseas SMS while overseas? Thanks

Free Incoming SMS: While it's not technically "guaranteed," you typically won't be charged for receiving standard incoming texts on Optus prepaid plans. 2FA Bank SMS: The delivery of 2FA messages depends on international network agreements. Some travellers receive bank texts without any add-ons, while others may encounter issues and need a roaming pass.

      • Purchased a roaming pass for OnePass Mobile just incase when I travelled to Japan earlier this year and had no signal the entire trip except for the first few minutes at the airport. Not worth the gamble if going overseas is a main priority.

      • Optus receive free sms but wifi call doesn't work while overseas. Only Australian network that can receive free sms AND wifi call while overseas is Telstra (and its MVNOs).

  • What's the cheapest long expiry option for just calls and texts? Thinking of chucking one in an old phone for the kids to take when they go for walks around the block.

    • Sign up for the Amaysim $15 Pay As You Go plan using a referral link. You'll end up with $65 credit, which should easily last about a year if it's mostly used for calling the kids.

    • Amaysim has a $60 Talk & txt for 365 day. You have to activate sim first, then go to change plan & choose $60 talk & txt. Unlimited talk & txt

      • Where? I only see 365-day 240GB for $199 and 184-day 150GB for $109.

  • No 5G, no call merge. No thanks

    • But this plan has 5G?

      • Don’t think it has 5G

    • $179 Plan - "5G/4G compatible (150Mbps max speed)"

  • Just a heads up, if you need your sim in a hurry, maybe consider elsewhere. For whatever reason OnePass sims get lost in the mail

    • Yes it's odd. Our latest one got lost but on calling they sent another express post. Previous ones have take 3 weeks to arrive. Latest one just totally lost.

    • yes do not buy from onepass mobile, all their support are overseas, its been a month and no one knows how to provide me with the free onepass membership that this deal promises.

    • Absolutely spot on !
Took 3 weeks to arrive. (Boost takes 3 days max)
Payment has obviously gone through but struggling to activate deal !!
      Buyer beware!

  • … or 200GB for $139 minus 1 year onepass ($20-40) minus $6.95 TCB cb? (Who needs data, when we have free Lyca?)

  • If i have a onepass account can i buy this for my partner and get the onepass bonus membership? Her phone account is in her name

  • Do these SIM cards actually expire? My current plan ends in October…

  • Bought via Top Cash Back. Paid the extra $9 for express delivery (Going OS in 10 days so don't want to risk dodgy mail times). Hopefully a good deal.
