  • Good price. No stock for Click and Collect in VIC

  • This 65w charger from Officeworks has served me well, same price and free pick up or onepass free shipping, multiple colours available (I have linked to black):

    • Thanks Otto rep

      • seems like a valid recommendation

        OP's Cygnett = 45w, 80 cm cable, 2 5 Years warranty
        Otto = 65w, 70cm cable, 3 years warranty.

unsure of specific charging protocol differences, but with the Otto being 20w more powerful and extra year warranty (high value on a retractable cable unit) it's a decent deal if a 10cm shorter cable isn't a problem.

EDIT - Cable retract side is also a factor depending on your plug orientation.
Cygnett website also lists "NEW 5 Year Warranty" so that makes it a tougher pick.

        • More importantly, is it USB-IF Certified?

          Don't trust products that aren't.

  • Any one know whether this one support Samsung super charge 2.0?

    • ChatGPT says yes, Gemini Flash says no.

Why It Doesn't Support SFC 2.0:
Current Requirement: Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0 requires a charger that supports Programmable Power Supply (PPS) with at least 4.05A to 5A output in the 5V–11V range (along with a 5A-rated cable).
Cygnett Specs: The Cygnett charger's PPS output is limited to a maximum of 3.25A in the 5V–11V range (5.0–11.0V ⎓ 3.25A).

      • So we need third AI to tell me which AI should I trust

        • No, Gemini has already explained why.

    • I have the 65W version and can confirm it supports Samsung super charge 2.0 for my S25U. Not sure about this 45W version

    • Here's the info pulled from the manufacturer's product page:

      USB-C Port & USB-C Cable Output
      5.0V⎓3.0A (15.0W); 9.0V⎓3.0A (27.0W); 12.0V⎓3.0A (36.0W); 15.0V⎓3.0A (45.0W); 20V⎓2.25A (45.0W)

      USB-C Port + USB-C Cable Output
      5.0V⎓3.4A (17.0W) PPS; 5.0-11V⎓3.25A PPS: 5.0-21v-2.15A

Why is there two outputs specified? I don't really know.

SFC 2.0 relies on the PPS standard. You have 45W so it's fine.

      • SFC 2.0 relies on the PPS standard. You have 45W so it's fine.

That's not quite right. While 45W total power is enough, Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0 relies on 5A PPS (specifically 9V-11V at 4.05A–5A). Because this retractable cable is only rated for 3A, the charger will drop back to standard Super Fast Charging at 25W. Not sure why I'm getting downvoted for this.

        • Yeah you're right I see 3.0 and 3.25A max on the 9-11V listed on my previous comment.

  • Retractable cable chargers are so cool. I had some 65W PPS OEM ones produced in China and haven't looked back since.

Obviously it'll be a sad day when/if the cables break.

    • Aliexpress?

      • Alibaba since I ordered dozens. About US$7 each and took about 3 weeks to manufacture.

  • 100% the retractable cable will break soon enough

  • What happens if you plug that cable back into charger?
