  • Oh wow good timing. I was literally about to move from Telstra $74/mth plan to Kogan 365 day plan last night but decided to wait until today to do it! Anybody in Perth have any experience with Kogan? I used to be with Felix and loved them in Perth, not sure how similar both are as they’re both voda

    • Would be similar but no 5G on 365 plans

    • Update: bought $174 sim and ported out from Telstra and was all done ez pz in 15 mins. Thanks op!

  • @AkuroPlays Hi AkuroPlays, where do you see if I can use this for recharge current number? thanks

    • Hi there, I'm not sure what you mean by this question.

      • @AkuroPlays
you wrote "These can be used as recharge vouchers."
please clarify where did you see that clause/term, usually cannnot

    • "If you are already a Kogan Mobile customer, simply login to your account and use your voucher to recharge"

  • I guess it depends which side you’re on.

I was paying for my grandma’s annual Kogan Mobile SIM plan using my own credit card. She passed away three years ago, and for the following two years I repeatedly contacted Kogan to stop the automatic renewals. They continued charging my card every year.

What surprised me was that Kogan wouldn’t let me cancel the recurring payment because I wasn’t the account holder, even though the credit card being charged was in my name. I wasn’t trying to take over the account or access any personal information—I just wanted them to stop charging my card in the future.

If you’re the account holder yourself, you’ll probably never run into this issue. But if you’re paying for a family member or someone else’s service, be aware that cancelling recurring payments can become unnecessarily difficult.

P.S. Before anyone says “just cancel it in the app”—I couldn’t. Another family member had already taken her SIM card overseas after she passed away (along with other belongings), so I no longer had access to the number or the account.

    • You can contact the bank to block the payment or do a charge back.

    • Just report your credit card as lost or stolen through your bank.

      • What about any other deductions set up for the card? Cancelling the card would be a last resort step

    • Just get a new fkn card LOL

  • I mean that your said the voucher can be used as recharge. So If I buy this plan, can I use as recharge for my current mobile prepaid plan which end on 31 August 2026. Thanks

    • Voucher expires at 11:59PM AEST on 31/08/2026.

Yes, you can use the voucher to recharge on the night that your plan expires. However, make sure to do so before 11:59PM AEST 31/08/2026.

    • After you buy it, you will get a voucher code in email which can used for recharge or start a new plan through the Kogan mobile website.

  • Anyone using Kogan in Brisbane able to provide their experience?

Tried getting Boost so many times and different variations but keep getting the same denial error. F*** Boost!

    • Not sure which area you are using. Here at south Kogan is fine from my experiences. I think someone said all telcos have shared their lines anyway? Still there are blackouts in the houses which are the known issue for many I know.

  • I've been using the 900gb plan 4G only to replace a home internet connection. 55/13.

Not bad, perfectly usable for home security.

  • For anyone who is unsure about coverage, 2 of the monthly plans are on discount as well. $10 for 20GB and $12 for 60GB.

You can use these to test it out.

    Downsides:

You have to phone them to cancel auto renewal, which you should do immediately.

It is possible to switch from monthly to redeeming a yearly prepaid voucher, but you have to phone them. If you explain your situation in simple terms (for their off shore team), they will usually be happy to redeem the voucher code for you, since you're staying with Kogan Mobile, you're not running off to a competitor. You should do this once your first month has expired and are happy with the signal reception. This should all be possible without a new SIM.

    • People taking up those Pay As You Go plans need to understand those discount prices only apply for the first month!

      • They're not pay as you go. They are pre paid, just on a monthly basis rather than yearly.

They do make it semi difficult to cancel auto renewal and transition to a yearly plan, which can make it look closer to a post paid plan, but they are pre paid.

It's also clearly indicated on the listings from Kogan.com and KoganMobile.com.au that these discounts are only for the first renewal/month only.

Like I have already said, nobody should be staying on the monthly Kogan Mobile plans longer term. They are a bad deal in that case. They are best used to test out being with Kogan Mobile or testing out Vodafone coverage before committing to a year long plan on a network you may not have used before.

  • I got the 900gig for 20 more, way more than i normally use but nice to have. dont have to think about data limits for the year.

    • Where is this 900Gb plan? Can't seem to find…

      • That offer expired yesterday. Sorry to break the ball to you..

        • It comes and goes, I got mine last month. Keep an eye out for it.

    • LOL I'm on FELIX unlimited and use between 300gb & 600gb per month 😜 that's my main hotspot all my devices etc

      • How TF are you using over 6TB of data per year

  • I have the SIM now, it's fast enough to stream YouTube right away whennin western Sydney but randomly sometimes acts really slow just loading a simple web page

    • yeah this is just typical shitty kogan data service

  • These can be used as recharge vouchers

    Much better than OnePass mobile

    • Yes, that is why we have 2 of the family sims with Kogan. My adult kids can't be bothered moving, they would just rather pay $150-180 and also the amount of data given is absolutely insane.

      • No idea why people are supporting the churning culture while this way is a lot less stressful

        • Well they do it to save money. If you are a light to medium user you can find cheaper deals.

  • We have 2 sims on Kogan and 2 on Vodafone. No problems in Sydney.

    • Good to know. I'm about to activate mine and the rest of fam's soon. (Kogan Mobile runs on the Vodafone/TPG network and I've heard horror stories with Vodafone around my area. We'll see.)

      • I would try it with a monthly first if I were you. In metro I believe Vodafone it's fine, I even have friends that have monthly contracts using Vodafone. We just do the prepaid, as we don't want to pay $40 plus a month.

  • I've been all over Australia with this in the last month and it's worked well.

    • Similar experience with me.

  • Hello all,

I am currently on esim with Kogan, my current annual plan ends in December. I am looking to transfer over my esim to my new iphone. Google search says I'll have to buy a recharge and recharge it on my new phone for the esim to transfer with Kogan. can anyone confirm or suggest other options

    Thank you

    • I would advise to use a physical sim as that’s what I’ve stuck with for the past few years that I’ve been with Kogan Mobile. I don’t have much experience with using a Kogan eSIM, however if you were to switch over to a new phone, you would have to ring up Kogan Mobile and go through the ID verification process in order for them to send you a new eSIM and each eSIM QR Code can only be scanned once.

    • You can buy a $2 esim for your new phone. Scan the QR code that is emailed to you on your new phone and you will have to call Kogan to complete the transfer. Think that's how I did it. Did it a while ago. Search 'esim' on Kogan.com to buy $2 esim. Hope that helps.

  • Shrinkflation? Was usually $139/$149 for the Medium (200gb) plan.
Now we are paying $144 for 140gb. Unless I am missing something?

    • K shaped economy.

If you're poor, you have no choice and have to accept any deal you can find, even if it is poor value.

If you're wealthy and would actually make use of the larger data allocations, you'll find much better value deals.

The top end Kogan Mobile yearly plan has gone on sale several times for under $200 with the usual 500GB increased to 900GB. Great value if you have good Vodafone reception and will actually use most of that, less so if you have bad reception or have no need for such a large amount of mobile data.

  • No international calls or sms?

  • Got 1 for my Dad. 86 yrs old no need for data as not tech savvy. Was paying $20p/m so $90 saving per year, happy with that. Thanks for posting.

  • Can this voice/data SIM be used in a 4G wifi modem as the primary source of internet? Can anyone suggest a 4g modem around $100-$150, please?

  • Is this comparable to Black Friday deals?

    • In my opinion, Black Friday may have better deals, but these deals are good right now for the amount of data you get.

  • is the 4G on kogan good enough? Currently on 5G and idk if the switch is significant

    • From my understanding, unless you need a high speed or are at a crowded area, 4G would be fast enough for most of the tasks.

  • I received my sim card but when I trying to activate it. website says the voucher is invalid
