  • So apparently there's 2 variant of the RedMagic 11 Pro.

Differences - Different back, battery, peak brightness & wireless charging, etc.

The Amazon listing uses a mixture of both images, so not sure which one you'll receive

    • Appears to be the Global version as the Amazon spec sheet states wireless charging and 7500 mAh battery.

    • The Global / International Model also has that design called Matte Black Cryo
Look at the first phone. It's the same back.

    • They'll only sell the global version through the Amazon Australia web site.

  • ugghh 256gb, hope there are bigger options for storage.

    • Why? I have all the games I need + normal phone stuff on 128gb.

    • Yeah, want 15% off a 512gb version.

  • 2 Generations of Android OS Updates and 3 years security updates is the deal breaker for me

    • Damn all those hackers hacking into those android 8/9/10/11/12/13/14/15 phones is a crisis!

Someone call a royal commission into this NOW!

FYI this is a joke. I'm technically minded and installed so many unofficial ROMs from the XDA forums (and telegram) and I never had an issue with security.

I have absolutely no clue how companies have spooked people into believing they require "the latest security". Like the latest android releases are literally blocking you from downloading FOSS apps…

      • It is not about just security though.
Some developers only support recent os versions.

Also most of the banking apps also drop support for older versions or rooted phones, so installing other ROMs is not the solution.

        • I am yet to see a newly updated app, banking or otherwise, that doesn't support android 9…

And developers don't build for a single OS. Android is a lot higher level than that so when you build for the latest phone it's common for it to be backward compatible with little to no modification.

Also custom ROMs work fine with banking apps (just need google play services). Its rooting that causes issues.

          • @Some Random Guy: Don't all custom roms require root access?

            • @donnytuco: Nope, that's a conflation.

Root access is something you can obtain on any device and firmware, assuming you can install a custom recovery (unlocked bootloadet usually required) and flash magisk or supersu or whatever it is nowadays.

A custom ROM is something you can install on any device assuming you can install a custom recovery (unlocked bootloadet usually required) and have your firmware of choice.

Saying this, I can install any OEM firmware I like on my tab s8 ultra or moto g86. To my knowledge only non-OEM firmware requires an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery.

I've personally run a completely de-googled and rootless device however I find that having root access is quite handy. But for banking apps and what not, if root access is causing you issue, just flash the custom ROM and omit the magisk flashing step.

  • Thought this was a Samsung Note Ultra

  • Will this one get cooked by vodafone as well?

  • Is this a tablet?

    • Seems a liquid-cooled gaming phone.

  • Where's the liquid cooling thing on the back??

    • I believe the base version don't have that, you'd need to go up a grade.

    • only available for the 16gb/24gb on the (non-s) pro version

    • its there you can hear it but not see it.

  • I am looking for a new phone to upgrade from my pixel 7 Pro. Didnt realise there were gaming phones, I probably cant afford the big brands anymore after all the price hikes so was thinking i might have to go to the lower brand phones. Is this a good one to get or is it more suited to gamers ( I dont really game on my phone much ).
