I've found these clean very well, never had any issues. Make sure you buy this one and not the cheaper cardboard box version which one tried and are terrible.
This everyday price is cheaper than when Finish and Fairy is on special and just as good IMO.

All I can say is I tried them and gave up after half a dozen uses. Left residue on glasses and often ended up with some dishes not cleaned.
Rarely have any food left using the capsules in this deal unless I've stacked things too close.

Which is fair; people have different dishwashers, and some people rise a lot more/less than they should.
If it works for you, then that's fantastic, as the stuff in the box is much cheaper! I do wish they'd kept the old version of the one in this post though(also came in a box) as it was cheaper per tablet and worked just as well.
Same situation, I gave the cardboard ones a try after I saw it mentioned a bunch of times on ozbargain, but no matter what I tried it always left residue on glass - really noticeable on drinking glasses.

Does that still work out cheaper per load compared to the better tablets?
Can definitely see the better tablets being worth it to some as you only need to throw in the one tablet and don't have to put aid in as well.
I also only use the cheaper cardboard box tablets and have never had an issue. My dishwasher is a basic F&P freestanding model around two years old.
I use the ALDI cheap dishwasher tablets in the cardboard box as well. They are good enough and do NOT leave strong smell as other brands.
Maybe it's to do with your dishwasher or placement inside?

I've been using the cardboard box ones for ages now and never had any complaints; however I've noticed recently the tablets are leaving a heap of blue residue in the dishwasher filter. Anyone else noticing this in your dishwasher filter?
I'm going to give these ones a shot now as cleaning the filter all the time is a PITA - the blue gunk takes some scrubbing to remove from the filter.

After having numerous issues with our dishwasher of not cleaning, finally worked out a good system that has a reliable cycle. I get the cheaper powder from Coles and place a tablespoon of it on the door drawer and an aldi cardboard box tab in the dispenser. There is a pre-wash cycle that all dishwashers have, so the powder will remove a good portion of the gunk and the tab will the be used on the actual washing cycle.
What seemed to be a junk dishwasher is now fantastic and can be blamed on user error.

The warmer power wash on my Bosch does not do a prewash; I have to manually do my own with the pre-rinse run first.

I have an older Westinghouse possibly 15 years old or more. I cut these tablets in half and put on a regular cycle and dishes and glass come out clean. A whole tablet smells too strong and an 'eco' (basically colder) wash leaves some residue on plastic objects (but trying to minimise plastic in dishwasher anyway).
Have tried the powder and don't really rate it. Can't cut liquid tabs so I'll be sticking to the cheap cardboard box tablets.

I tried these too. Made no difference. Good cleaning overall.
Just don't over stack the washer.
And drizzle some liquid dish Soap on the door before you start.
I also always take the wrapper off, made a massive diff!
ours makes a lot of foam with normal liquid dish soap, kinda funny when you open it and see all the suds
Mine too, but it's all gone at the end. The more suds the better, does the job really well imo.
How does this compare with the Logix dishwashing powder? Aside from the convenience of the tablet versus measuring out the powder, is there much of a difference in cleaning performance?
Powder is way cheaper and does the same thing. BUT i find that over time, my glassware gets a cloudy residue and needs the occasional hand wash to clear it up.
This is a common issue with all brands, the powder needs to be adjusted based on how dirty the dishes are. On a standard wash I half fill the compartment and sprinkle a little for the prewash. Overall I find the powder cleans better than tablets.
after the first main cycle is done, run the shortest cycle without opening the dishwasher or adding any cleaner. It rinses off any residue from the dishes including the shine inducing rinse aid(linked to stomach lining disruptions).
The powder is the way to go. The 1kg bottles are less than half the price of the box tablets and last 30+ washes. I can sprinkle some outside the dispenser for the prewash cycle and use less for the main wash. Also great if you want to do a light load, as you can just dose accordingly. Been using powder for a year without issue.
Interested to know about sprinkling some around for the prewash. As in using a small amount on / around the dishes themselves?

Most of the expensive tablets and sheets I've used smell like some lemon sauna when I open the dishwasher door. The kids plastic lunch boxes also get infused with the perfume, which build up the more you wash it. In the end I had to buy new ones and handwash them.
The Aldi powder leaves almost no lemon smell because there is very little perfume in it. I hate all the expensive tabs they are laced with perfume to fake their strength and I am sick of clean dishes that smell like lemon. The only dishwasher tablet that doesn't leave a scent is the Finish ultimate 0% in the greenbag but I am not rich enough to be buying those.
With this Aldi powder I don't even need rinse aid and resulting in rather clean and dry dishes. When the cleaning cycle is completed there will be a small amount of water pooling on the cups bottom. I use this to check if there is any detergent residue in the final rinse. Happy to report there's no slippery. At least I'm not feeding my family some soapy residue. The water isn't a problem for me, I usually pull the drawers out before bed after the wash. By morning it's all dry and ready to go back in the cupboard.
I use very little powder. Like 1/3 of the compartment never more than 1/2. This is dependent on your washer. I have a Miele and a Bosch.
I think one should experiment with the dishwasher settings if it's not cleaning right. I don't leave my dirty dishes to dry and cake for days that's just challenging it. It's so cheap to wash I just turn it on and let it rip. Set a delay for off peak electricity. A quick physical scrub to get rid of any big chunks off food will keep the filters clean. I hate cleaning the filters. I use the setting with the highest water consumption and about 2 hours of clean time.
I also hate the bottles, they always leak during transport so they look frosty on the Aldi shelves. I have to give them a wipe which is rather annoying when shopping so I buy like 5 at one go to reduce my misery.

Perfume costs money. No filler is why lots of house brand cleaning products are superior to their expensive counterparts.
Powder is vastly superior to tablets given that you can run a pre-wash programme with powder which you can't do with tablets.

As I said, I've never had an issue with these Logix ones, they simply work for me, everything comes out sparkling.
Typically much cheaper than Finish too.
Definitely much cheaper, have an el cheapo dishwasher though so struggles with some budget tablets
Appears these may do the job though I think, it’s just the really cheap finish boxed ones that don’t work well.
Choice rates it slightly lower (75 overall vs 80 for the Finish) but still within their recommendations. RRP approx 1/4 of Finish. TLDR you won’t notice the difference.

I used to think the same until I stopped using Aldi's dishwashing powder… it truly is a rubbish product. Very poor results in independent tests; look at Choice.com.au.

I used them for years. Then new bottle left residue. Returned to the store. Tried it again a few months later (different batch). Same problem.

IMO: NO.. stay away from the coles branded dishwashing tablet.
I got it for free on a coles promo AND THEY ARE THE WORST!!!!! They left my glasses cloudy and some dishes a bit dirty.
I switched back to the Aldi cheaper cardboard box version and the problems went away.
I just use the aldi powder. I only use about half the amount with a very small amount extra sprinkled on the door for the prewash.(et al: Technology connections, youtube.).
We were getting hazy glasses, but I just started using a citric acid solution as a rinse aid with amazing results, we have been doing this for years now. Also, spraying as strange blue chemical over my dishes alway bothered me, and occasionally you get that bitter taste on the edge of your glass…
I sure someone here will tell me why citric acid it's going to ruin my dishes but after doing it for years having my plates and glasses consistantly shiny and smooth I'm willing to take the risk.
I swear by powders too. Haven’t heard of the citric acid trick. Curious to know as well if there are downsides to it.
The only downside I've experienced is an occasional tangy lip to a glass.
Citric acid is great for cleaning the dishwasher, washing machine and descaling coffee machines/kettles.
I also have a 1kg of Citric acid for this purpose.
Rinse Aid is a surfactant to lower the surface tension of water so water slides off.
Great that citric acid works for you but Aldi rinse aid is only $2.80 for 500ml. Say 3-5ml per load, you're looking at 3 cents a load.

I use a combination of 100% IPA,distilled water and rinse aid.
I use other chemical solvents seperately as needed because I want the glass cleaner to be safe on most surfaces and leave no residue.
It's basically 12% IPA to 88% distilled Water (or keep it around 1:8).
So like,
Distilled Water: 440 ml
100% Pure IPA: 60 ml
For 500 mills.
Then add 1 to 2 drops of rinse aid. Add too much and you'll get a thin film/hazing
The home made one performs very well for me and evaporates without residue. I even use it to clean my spectacles sometimes.

@keeperofthegood: Haha no, has to be pure. What you're drinking is very unlikely to to be pure unless it's something like Vodka (not that Vodka is IPA).
High % Ethanol (not the ones you drink) would have bitterents added to it that can potentially leave residue.
Purity/no residue is the key.

Citrix acid is suitable as rinse aid but you need to keep it separate from the dish washing detergent because it is acidic and most dish washing detergent is alkaline cleaning power.
Just a warning for these soft types of tablets, yes these are good but a family member tried to split two stuck together (yes stupid but unlucky) and burst into their eye. Apparently happens often according to the emergency department. Now we switched to the solid tablets that work just fine.

These are quite a bit cheaper in store. I use them and they are very good.
I have tried them and they unfortunately leave a baked in white residue on plastics. Do not recommend.
This is most likely a result of the cycle being too short and/or too cold. Not the product.
It is the products performance compare to other brands. Specifically plastics need a slight lower temp (up to 50 degrees) otherwise they can deform but these tablets dont dissolve properly and leave a grainy lemon smelling film embedded the on plastic that doesnt seem to happen with other brands. Usually cycle easily is over 2 hours. I gave some to a mate and he had the problem. A quick google reveals many other with the same issue by the looks of it. Maybe people that are happy dont put the specific plastics in and use the hottest water setting? I ran at settings at 55- 65 without plastic and it was ok but the lemon smelling residue did remain on a few item. Overall i do not recommend especially it if you run plastics.
The cheaper one @ $6 cleans damn good as well.

The cardboard box ones leave a fairly strong scent/taste on silicone and sometimes even on ceramic/stainless steel. Never had issues previously, maybe got a bad batch.
Absolutely love them - I used to use Fairy ones but they are very expensive comparatively and after using thse, I am never going back. FWIW, I only use these when I have full load - other times, I use Aldi's powder version which does good job too but I try to alternate with these gel tablets which not only keeps the dishes clean, but dishwasher shiny too.
