Yep I recently bought the Car+Boat. The small motorized head really gets the fibre/lint out of the carpet mat. I have had to spend way more time and effort to achieve the same level with my older Dyson's.

Why are dysons so cheap now. These used to be like 800 on special now they're dirt cheap

Because the Dyson V8 was launched in 2016. You are buying a 10 year old design. Still a reasonable battery powered vacuum cleaner, especially with the motorhead. The other reason this particular V8 is cheap is because the V8 Cyclone was just released, which is still a similar design, but with a higher capacity/power battery pack.

So V8 and V8 Cyclone are different models ?? And the Cyclone is a better choice ??

Unlike phones the vacuuming power does matter a lot though and the newer ones come with way more.
I personally wouldn't buy this. At this level of vacuum I'd rather just get one of the clones like a Xiaomi/Dreame.

I bought the car & boat V8. I found Dyson sells the "quick clean wand" for $49 and it has a nifty crevice tool included in the wand. https://www.dyson.com.au/quick-clean-wand-972354-03.
You could add an aftermarket gen 5 brushhead, but I just nibbled off the plastic bit that stopped the V8 brushhead fitting and it works really well. Still fits the V8 directly after careful nibbling with side cutters.- 1
Should be illegal what they do with notches and lips to block accessories
I even had 2 v6 and the bars didnt work on both because one a pet and one a fluffy
They were identical except a needless notch to block using the fluffy spinner on the other v6

Ordered one.. then came the out of stock msg to say will refund. Then another msg to say order ready to collect.. on checking the account, looks like both v8 and v9 was on the order but only charged 299.. maybe they replaced the order with a v9 submarine?.. hmm… Can anyone comment on the v9 sub?

just picked up the v9. at 299 i am ok.. receipt says 50% disc lol.. its replacing a v7, which was kinda falling apart after so many years.. v9 weight is feather weight, suction is great and doens't do the suction pulsation the v7 does.. dont see any replacement batteries for it as yet as googling seems to say it was released late 2025..

just fyi for those wanting to clean the car.
+ Car cleaning kit but doesn't come with mini motorhead.
Car + Boat does. but it doesn't come with full size one and extension.
I know someone who has Car+Boat says it makes vacuuming the floor mat way way way faster than the normal brush attachment.
