Bing Lee is price matching Amazon at $750 for Epson's well-reviewed ET-8500. Stacked with the 12% flash sale, the price comes down to $660.

Take another $20 off your first order with newsletter signup in the footer for $640 delivered, which appears to be an ATL.

I've been watching the price on this one (and its identical-except-for-paper-size big brother, the A3 ET-8550) for a while now, but it looks like a great choice for a quality hobbyist photo printer at this price.

  • 1 year warranty on a $660 inkjet printer ☹️

    • I don't disagree with the sentiment, but it is at least 2 years with registration

Register your printer online with Epson with 12 months of purchase and upgrade the standard Epson express warranty by an additional 12 months, making a total of 24 months of warranty from the date of purchase. This Express Warranty is in addition to other rights or remedies that You may have under the ACL in relation to your Product.

Our Products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (“ACL”). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Products repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

    • 1 year warranty

      Two…

You also get a free credit voucher to use in the Epson store when you register… Can use for extra ink/paper etc.

    • Same as most of the vacuums. I said that to a sales guy, why would I pay $2k for a stick vacuum with a 12 month warranty?

  • great price

  • Ive been using my brother dcp-j925dw for 15 years and it still works perfectly.

How long do these generally last? Will i expect 15 years out of this?

    • My ET-2750 was going strong for about 8 years.
My current ET-5150 I've had for 4 years.

A set of genuine ink refills costs me < $100 and lasts over 2 years. I go through a ream of 500 sheets every couple of months…

  • I am tossing up between this and the Canon iPF PRO-6600 12 Colour Graphic Arts Printer

    • Not sure if serious because that PRO-6600 is at least 25x the price?

  • Very tempting… however i'd like the 8550 for A3.

    • I picked up the 8550 from Harvey Norman (yes, I know, the devil) for $834 in March. Was on sale but also had some kind of extra 10% off promo.

  • I have a Et-5150, it's been a very reliable and economical printer, but don't forget to factor in the cost of maintenance boxes for these printers. They do get full over time and need to be replaced, thankfully these can be bought cheap on AliExpress/temu

    • but don't forget to factor in the cost of maintenance boxes

I just checked mine and after 4 years of heavy use, it's showing less than 20% full..

    • At least they improved them on later ecotanks, originally for some models once some pads were full the printer would be landfill https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA3wOmujZHA

  • This is a fantastic price!

  • This or Brother MFC-L3755CDW Colour Laser Multi-Function Centre for less than $500?

  • Great find been keeping an eye out for one of these. Thank you!

  • Great price.

  • Printer prices are out of control .

  • We've had this printer around four years. We love it. I've only had to replace one ink (grey), for around 30 or 40 dollars. This really is a good price, I think we paid 800 or 850 for it. it's extremely cheap to run.

The air print function is wonderful and being able to print borderless, and print photos, is great. It also does double sided printing. It cannot do borderless and double sided at the same time - you'll need to manually flip the paper if you want both.

My strong recommendation is to only use premium printer paper. In my experience it will jam with regular paper.

  • Ripper printer! I purchased one a while back. If you can live without the ADF, and a small sheet feeder, it's brilliant.

Tip however - run a nozzle check every 1-2 weeks if you are not printing that often to prevent nozzle clogs.

Brilliant allrounder. Great for everyday and photos. You wont be disappointed.

    • Yep - we print something every week or so just to keep ink moving - ink clogs are much easier to prevent than fix.
