  • Took advantage of this one, feels good to get a 350 designer frame for 150. Probably not the best or cheapest way to do it, but it comes with local support so yeah.

    • once lens princes come in, i can pick up similar pair for 20% of the specsavers price.

just found out about blacksheep.io/au and i'll be having a go of them. previously used zenni.

      • Thanks, I'll have a look. My current gameplan is to have my most needed pair for eye strain reduction (intermediate computer / reading / walking around) from Specsavers so that I can walk in and have them fixed up or checked out if needed (i.e. if the frame has been bent out of shape), then to use my prescription paper to look online for cheaper frames that I can use for other things such as single vision distance lenses for driving, outdoors, sunnies etc. Things that I'm not as worried about breaking or needing support on.

The only thing I had to do was ask Specsavers for the script and have them add the pupillary distance measurements to it - since it's not on there automatically for some reason.

      • Thanks boss

  • Wish some of these deals worked with multifocal.

  • I'm with BUPA and thought I'd be able to take advantage of this and the BUPA no gap deal for $199. But what I misread was that it had to be specifically from the $199 range. So even though it's still $199 with this 2 Pairs of Single Vision Lense Glasses for $199, BUPA's no gap deal wouldn't cover it.

    A bit disappointed but yeah

  • Nice one

Never really seen this one before, does this happen often or is it mostly 2 for $199 specials that keep floating around?

  • It's $199 for any 2 pairs of single vision lenses not $199 off.

  • It’s a decent offer if you have NAB debit card. NAB Goodies has $30 off on $120 spend offer (targeted) at Specsavers. So instead of using your health fund card at Specsavers, just pay with your NAB card and later claim directly with health fund.

You can buy any designer frame for $149 or 2 designers for $199. I am with Medibank and was ready to buy 2 for $199 ($150 extras limit, $50 out of pocket, $30 NAB credit - In total $20 gap). To my surprise, I was told I get can 2 for $149 (no gap) with Medibank if the frames are valued at max $249 each.

Finally, paid with my NAB card and claimed in Medibank app. $30 back in pocket and no gap for 2 frames. Hope this helps someone.

  • Thanks op!

I guess the two pairs for $199 promotion is new, it is valid until 3 October. I always waiting for this promotion for my multi focal and special lens for working in front of computer for long).
