  • Had my G502 for over 10 years now, It's been absolutely faultless.

    • Same im on number 2 since i wear the thumb pad off

      • you can buy replacement parts for just about everything on these mice, no need to bin a perfectly good mouse

    • Same with mine too. I just bought new mouse recently for refreshing feeling.

      • Shower for refreshing feeling, shampoo?

        • i gave mine a bath but it doesnt work anymore

          stay free stay healthy :)

        • 18 in 1 shampoo

  • I had this one, work very well but a bit heavy

  • I don't really see the point in buying this? The g502x (direct replacement) has been like 60 before. It's lighter and has the newer switches.

This era of g502 suffered from the double click problems.. Sadly for me, my 502 wireless and 2 900s all suffered this issue. Conveniently all just outside of warranty…

    • I just bang the buttons on the table and it fixed it.

    • when wil lit be $60 again

    • mine is suffering this and it shets me to tears. Mostly the click + drag where it loses the click action being held. Have a g502x on order hoping that click sensor wont suffer the same fate. I dont have the patience or a soldering iron to go through the ifixit article on getting a new sensor on it from aliexpress

      • Ugh this started happening to me recently. Little workarounds seem to fix temporarily but def need to replace. Is g502x the most similar replacement?

        • It looks to be. Really want to keep the mouse wheel unlock plus the ability to use the OLD logitech gaming software as the new one is pure dogwater. Looks like its one or the other, and mousewheel has to stay (。^▽^)

          • @philmarcracken: Yeah I dont game alot anymore so more a case of just minimising change.

        • Sounds stupid but try breathing into the area where the DPI selection lights are. Like a big “hhaaaaah” like you’re trying to fog up glass.

Fixes my double clicking issue which comes back every now and then, I think it’s actually a static charge problem not a mechanical issue, and the moisture in your breath discharges it.

      • Ha yep. I actually even bought replacement switches and… Realised I don't have a soldering iron and don't have the patience either. I've been using cheap g305s for a few years now, just for gaming. I use my mx master 3 for work or if I need hyperscroll. I probably will never buy an expensive gaming mouse again, but am willing to spend extra on my work mouse as I use it disproportionately more.

    • I think the weight is one of the selling points for this one since it also comes with extra weights

  • Amazing mouse. Pretty much perfect.

  • Love clicking the button that makes it free spin and scrolling ozbargain

    • This is the only reason why I still buy these Logitech mice. The new ones no longer have a button toggle, you just spin the wheel fast and it automatically super scrolls. Spin it slowly for normal scrolling clicks.

    • In Warframe I set the quick melee attack button as mouse wheel scroll and then I unlock the wheel and free scroll it and it just keeps spamming the melee attack until I put my finger back on top. It's very satisfying.

  • I was about to buy this exact one for my son yesterday. Glad I waited. Thanks!

  • Had this for many years, wondering if i should get a backup

  • Is it still the braided wiring or the cheap plastic wiring?

    • cheap plastic wiring for many years

      • I only realised this recently after replacing my g502 Proteus. Feels gross and a huge backwards step in quality. When the new one wears out in 3 or 4 years I'll have to remember…

  • Pretty sure it’s like the same price at umart

  • Cheaper on Aliexpress.

    • Can you give us a link?

I've found that all the cheap ones I could find on ebay and Aliexpress to be fakes and won't connect to the Logitech programme on the PC.

If you can find one that is legit, I'd love to hear about it.

      • Read the reviews (especially those with pictures).

      • Read the reviews. I've ordered 3 in the past 5 years. Although they are the non braided cable, they are the same as my original.

Obviously this is not for everyone.
If you're not comfortable then don't buy.

  • Brilliant mouse. Highly recommend.

  • Great mouse. I use the wireless one at home and the wired one at work.

  • wire vs wireless?

  • Adequate temporary replacement for my double-clicking G903 whose right button doesn't hold anymore

  • Sold by Velereo btw

There’s a sold and shipped on Amazon by Logitechshop for $53
Or via eBay for same price
    https://ebay.io/m/aTzPDj

    • Thanks BargainsGrabber

I tried cancelling my Amazon order to save $2 but they said it was too late lol.

      • my amazon order has already arrived from ordering it last night - insane postage speeds

    • Argh OOS

  • Had mine for years! Just grabbed another one cause the metal wheel on mine is pretty faded and the rubber is a bit worn out. Great mouse.

  • G502 Hero is dam heavy. Not suitable for fps.

  • Wow I think I had one of these like 12 years ago 😲

  • Oh man they use a tacky plastic cord now :(

  • Good price!

Though, my G402 is still working… and I think I have a spare G402 too.

  • Using for almost an year, just wish the wire came off.

  • There is no reason to buy this version of the mouse when the replacement and much lighter version is comparable price. Sure some people have the mouse for years without a problem but there's a ton of others, like myself who get the double click issue, so clearly there's a manufacturing or design problem and your taking a risk to buy it, especially since a takes a year or two to develop.

502x was sub $60 last month:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/967320

    • Average Amazon price on Camelx3 is $58. Great pointing out double click issue which has supposedly been resolved with updated model

    • Theres no reason to buy a logitech mouse ever again for me after how I was treated by them after my $150 G9x suddenly died. 0 warranty support basically told me 'too bad'. Ive got a corded $2 MS sidewinder mouse that I got from an OP shop and it works bonza.

      • $2 MS sidewinder mouse

If that mouse is working great for you, then you probably aren't the target audience for the G502 lol

        • I got the $10 HP mouse from a deal here recently and that handles my wireless needs. But if you mean by 'target audience' the gaming crowd then yes, that's not me.

          • @Skinnerr:

I got the $10 HP mouse from a deal here recently and that handles my wireless needs

            Good deal

if you mean by 'target audience' the gaming crowd

More to it than just "gaming". Key macros, ergonomics, weight, scroll wheel setting, all can be beneficial for office work and other non-gaming tasks

            • @DiscountForThee: All of these arguments fall short of their quality control that I outlined. Logitech is a shit company with shit quality control that make shit mice. End of discussion for me.

    • even the budget G305 is better than this POS. Why are people defending this because of spreadsheets….
      https://www.amazon.com.au/Logitech-Lightspeed-Wireless-Gamin…

  • The Hero (this one) was $46.99 in December last year.

  • $149.95 RRP???? The discounted price is what it should be RRP for decade old tech.

How can the extra weight option be considered a feature on a barge of a unit unit anyway \o/

Acknowledge the office user uses/comments, but this is not the gaming mouse you are looking for.
