  • AliExpress Elite Membership

Hmmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

    • If you sign up to OzBargain Premium I'll give you a copy of my Thai Honey audiobook.

      • If it's read by jv, done!

        • I'll just have to retrieve my copy from the safe deposit box so I can do the recording. Unless you want a live reading 😏😏

  • Seems like there is a elite label to qualify for items..

  • I've had this for just over a month now. Yes on certain items a banner pops up with a further discount. The items picked for discounts do seem rather random tho. I have also used one of the free no proof returns for a gaming handheld which was completely different to what i had ordered with no fuss.

My Elite membership says it's expiring in October and theres a message that says to continue with it you have to continue to purchase stuff before the end date that pops up individually for you.

    • Ah you were part of the random trial. I wasn't selected despite spending wayyyyy over $800 each month. Does it say how much you have to spend to get it again?

      • Yeah i must've been. I have spent probably 8k over the past year but have been buying pretty much between 1 to 3 times per month consistently. I just read the very long t&cs and the only thing i saw was mentioned with how they qualify you for this which it says over the past 365 days you have to have spent a minimum of $800 usd.

But unless i didn't see it from skimming it all, there was no mention of how much to spend. The only thing it seems to say is just to continue buying before your membership end date which in my case is October 15th which i have done over and over again from every sale in the past 2 month's already.

      • Also part of that. Just got an invite a month or so back. Think have to buy $800us in a time period. My 90 days runs out mid October. Saved a bit. Well,if you calling it saved lol

    • Can you choose to use the no proof return or provide proof? E.g. Choose to provide proof for the gaming handheld return as it'd be accepted, and then use the no-proof return on something else.

      • Not that i know of. I just went through the normal process and it just came up as that. But i had provided proof in the first place and it just got accepted as a non proof return lol

That's aliexpress for ya i guess.

  • this saved me extra $9 for the hifiman headphones a few weeks ago

  • Did I download the wrong app or is the Aliexpress app a complete and total turd?

    • The app can't help but crash for me no matter what I do. FFS.

    • sounds like the right one

  • I got this but am a little scared I actually spent that much to earn a membership! That's a lot of little bits and bobs I've ordered!

  • Didn't even realise I was part of this exclusive club

    • One could call it an Elite club

    • I didn't either.

Clicked the link and got the "welcome to Elite" welcome banner.

Too much OzB = too much $$ on Ali…

  • They still need parcelpoint for their returns tho… Ebay Amazon temu have em AliExpress still behind in that regard…

Parcelpoint is just across the street, post office is 10 minutes away…

    • A whole 10 minutes away wowowwow. My nearest Parcelpoint is about that.

      • Doesn't matter it's still stopped me returning cheap shit that's 20 minutes of my time

And then you just chuck it out causes waste

        • Shipping cheap stuff to china is probably a bigger waste than throwing it out anyway.

  • AliExpress warranty support is a joke. My charger failed within the advertised 1-year warranty. I provided multiple videos, photos, warranty proof and seller messages confirming replacement, yet “senior support” kept sending the same generic “insufficient evidence” template without saying what was actually missing. I contacted support repeatedly, re-submitted evidence several times, confirmed my email multiple times, and still got nowhere. Their live chat, case page and email channels seem poorly connected, so you end up repeating everything over and over. Fine for cheap disposable items; I would not rely on AliExpress for anything where warranty support actually matters.

    • Yes, that's a trade off from buying overseas. Don't expect anyone to honour ACL. Hard to enforce that on them when they're not located in Australia. Typically AliExpress will allow returns up to 3 months.

    • Had this happen also. I pay with PayPal and if they don’t do the right thing I open a PayPal dispute. That said, it’s only been once or twice in perhaps 15 or more years of repeatedly buying stuff so I’ll take the risk.

      • Paypal disputes is gone now isn't it?

I just lodged a chargeback with card provider, and was accepted. Ali account still active.

Probably wont get this offer though…haha

    • The same thing did happen to me recently with a handheld i had bought used for about 20 mins and stored away in a case for months. It just turns on but doesnt have any fw or os like every other one does these days and just comes up with a card error. Problem is you cant dl any alternative fw or os and it has to be the specific one for this pos handheld.

I had sent multiple vids and photos showing it all and was told and promised it was escalated and would be refunded only to have some generic excuse come up every single time and denied.

After about 6 times the seller i think gave up and refunded me as they kept contacting him for more evidence etc.

But yeah this doesn't always work.

    • Lol, I would just buy it again and return the dead one for change of mind, if it has the free return banner

      • Yeah probably could've done that too but I was determined to see what would happen.

Tbh i had given up by that point but it seems so did the seller after getting bothered so many times to submit this and that.

  • I received an email that I had been given this membership for free because I was a long time member and spent x amount. Now I’m wondering if they slotted me into some free trial.

    • Same, got it 2-4 weeks ago. Not spending near the amount that others in this thread apparently spend either.

  • I was wondering what this is when I placed an order yesterday. Seems decent.

I used to have Diamond tier before they scrapped it.

  • HIFIMAN Arya US$377.50 (~A$530.27) with Elite. Insane value.

  • Also automatically made an Elite member.
