  • bought that 2 pack a while ago and one of the batteries died. Was told that Bunnings are getting rid of this brand, so warranty will basically be you get a refund

    • I thought Bunnings got rid of this brand 15 years ago.

      • They hide in plain cardboard boxes on the shelves.
Was surprised to stumble upon them last time I was in the tool shop!

      • Now that Holden is gone it looks like it's all theirs now.

  • Have one of these as the third drill. Comes in handy when needing to a large number of drilling holes, counter sinking and driving in the screws. A tool for each function. Works perfectly fine for basic tasks.

    • Save yourself a swap by getting drill bits with the attachable countersinking bores?

      • I think I paid only $20 for the drill at the time and don't think I was aware of them at the time of purchase. Would definitely be something of look at now but with that said, being much lighter than my DeWalt, o often prefer the lighter drill.

    • had XU1 drill driver set for about 8 years. used regularly - way more than average home DIYer - across 2 old houses for maintanence, shelving, hobby metal/woodwork projects, ikea flatpacks etc.

kind of wanting it to die as have since bought into ozito ecosystem and have bunnings gift cards at the ready.

still going strong, would highly recommend - in fact, all average DIYer needs is a corded hammer drill (for brick/concrete) and a cheap drill driver set like this and you should be good for many years to come.

      • except many people on here are gear snobs and won't buy anything g name branded or at least Ozito because you can just replace it any time. I have bought two of these people that have borrowed my drills in the past and both have said it comes in handy

  • Bought it 3 years ago at this same price. Drilled many holes in sheet metal, 5mm aluminium, 3mm mild steel and also 3mm stainless steel.
Yes, it's weak and the battery is small, but it keeps you from breaking drill bits.

  • my battery died, less than a year old and hardly ever used it, I think whatever happens to these batteries is not the traditional wearing out. it's something else, it will degrade even with no use

    • This is the issue. Cheap batteries won't sit.

Use it regularly, or top up charge every 3 months and they are fine.
Put away in a cupboard… Get a chorded drill.

      • a chorded drill

are you using 2 in stereo?

      • Lithium ion NMC battery should not be stored at full charge. They should be stored at below 70% state of charge and then they should be recharged to that level if they have depleted while in storage. Once they discharge too low during storage they will be locked out of charging again for safety reasons.

        • Yes…and if it's in a cupboard, the cheap cells/ BMS have a small parasitic drIn and drop below the threshold.

P.S. They normally only charge to 4.1v out of 4.2v.
So a full charge isnt a full charge.

But sure. Full charge. Pull the trigger for 30 seconds every 3 months at least.

  • Bought two of these when they were on clearance for $20 each ages ago. No regrets. Yes they are cheap diy toys & not for heavy work but having two of them means I could have two different bits loaded at once & I did not care who I lended them to. For that alone it was 100% worth it.

Had them stolen out of my car earlier in the year, hope it was worth the couple bucks they would get at the pawn shop.

    • i bought a couple and dumped one at my dad's place and my place and they are easily as good as the lower end brushless ozito or really any of the non prestige brands

for lower end work and ikea its fine

of course dont use it to knock in masonry or auto work but this is WAYYY better than the cheapest shit you get from Ikea or silly sollys or whatever $2 shop is out there

yes the battery situaiton sucks… they dont swap not nothing but you should know that going in

  • I got one of these some time ago - was weak and the battery died after not long.

Frankly not worth it IMO even at this price. Maybe if you only need it for a one off project

    • See my note above on battery storage.

      • i havent had any issue with this or that kind of shitty brand batteries but i do use them every so often and always store inside

i think dont leave them overight in a freezing car? I dont think they like cold or heat.

  • Not entirely relevant but I bought an XU1 circular saw for $33 last weekend and for the small amount of cutting I need to do, it's been fantastic. I was about to walk out with an Ozito one but couldn't pass up on the price considering this whole project was purely impulsive and I keep finding new things I need to buy. How they make any kind of profit from these tools is pretty amazing. Don't expect them to last forever but if you don't need much they should definitely do the job. Only 12 month warranty

  • Just as I thought Ozito was bottom of the barrel (I have them), I'm proven wrong….

  • Bought one more. Thanks

  • Bought one for home DIY. Thanks
