TCL 85" C6L QD-Mini LED 4K UHD Google TV (2026) $1695 + Delivery ($0 C&C at Limited Stores) @ JB Hi-Fi

940
TV500

Price reduced to $2195 recently. Use TV500 to bring it down to $1695. If you are upgrading from a LED tv, this is a significant improvement. I believe it's best 85 inch TV you can buy at this price today. If you have a higher budget and patience, wait few months and you could get a TCL C8L 85inch for around 2K - 2.5K during black friday or boxing day sale.

If you want a TCL C8L and 98inch, current Harvey Norman's 20% off offers bring the price down just under 5k. I believe that will be very close to ATL if not ATL. I doubt it will go below 4k anytime this year as it's the flagship model of TCL.

Edit: C8L 98" - get it even cheaper at $4290. Get JB hi-fi to Price match appliance central's price of $4790 and stack TV500 on it.

Edit: If you want a TCL C7L 85 Inch use this link to powerland for $2475. then try your luck at JB hi-fi to match it and add TV500 code on top to bring it down at $1975. YMMV. If you can get it, the upgrade from C6L to C7L is definitely worth extra 300 bucks. https://powerland.com.au/products/tcl-85-c7l-sqd-4k-qled-uhd…

  • Good price. But it doesnt have many dimming zones for an 86.

    • Yeah it's worth paying extra for the 85 inch C7L series (1568 dimming zones vs 264 on this C6L). Huge step up in peak brightness too (3000 nits on the C7L vs 700 nits on the C6L).

  • I had a Sony KD75 and this TV is a significant improvement. I agree it may not be as good as C8L but for someone who never had a QLED or mini LED, it's a significant quality improvement.

    • I upgraded from a 5yo 75" Q60 samsung to the 85" C6K earlier this year. Also found it a decent improvement (but quickly forgotten once actually watching something). You really have to side-by-side compare or be a really picky person to notice. Bonus is the samsung no longer tops the charts of blocked device queries in pihole anymore…

  • Does this secretly record everything that goes on around it, what programs you watch and scan your whole wifi network like a LG?

    • ACR …turn it off.

    • Yep otherwise it'd not be this cheap… Be aware other TV manufacturers rename ACR to different things so check if it's ACR on this TV or possibly under some other name. Quick search should give you that. Even with ACR off its likely still going to gather other data, or may ask for ACR to be on with an update or to make a 'feature work', all sorts of underhanded ways to get you back on the data sharing train.

    • Setup an adguard home or pihole server

      • I didn't think that worked for smart TV's? They use their own dns for exactly this reason?

        • Wdym lol the device is going to run through your dns. They would have servers they talk back to for data those most likely get blocked within the pihole or adguard home lists online, its all bloat anyways apple tv at least doesn't have that bs

    • Chances are they all do. All your smart devices.

    • Settings, Privacy, User Agreements, Toggle them all off.

If you are scared of TVs scanning your network, put your TV on a different VLAN (newish mid to high end routers support VLANs and multiple SSIDs). If you are willing to use your TVs as a dumb monitor, you can even put then in an isolated VLAN with no Internet access allowed (assuming your router supports that).

This is not just a TV issue. All IoT devices are in this bucket. We don't flush our smart home devices with custom firmware which forces them to run local only (don't contact motherships on the cloud). GMail (and most "free" mail services) scan your emails (and even OCR image attachments). People are slowly giving AI agents more access. The new Apple watches, even if the always-on audio intelligence (recordings) are "stored on the device". Will you be comfortable next to have someone who has one who turns on that feature?

    • Just leave the TV disconnected and go grab an Apple TV, any firmware updates can be done off of a usb.

  • 7 of these or 1 of the TCL 115" C7K 4K QD-Mini LED hmm…

  • Just cancelled my OLED Samsung to get this thanks OP what a deal! Don't need the bells end whistles for just family netflix and YouTube.

  • How does this compare to the Hisense U7SAU I just ordered?

    • Both are very similar. So buy whichever is cheaper. I wouldn't buy Hisense for 2K if I can get this TCL for 1.7K and vice versa. If both same price, pick either based on preference. AI says " the Hisense U7SAU wins for bright living rooms, heavy daytime usage, and high-end gaming, while the TCL C6L is the better choice if you prefer the Google TV interface or prioritize built-in dark-room cinema performance"

      • Interesting. My AI reckons the Hisense is the clear winner even for $300 more. Substantially more dimming zones and much brighter.

But that’s an AI assessment, so heap of salt.

        • AI is sycophant. usually agree with whatever bias you have. My AI knew I would favor TCL from my chat history and that $300 difference is not insignificant for me so crafted it's response accordingly.

        • It's because the Hisense has anti-glare and no other TV has this unless you buy a Samsung for an extra $2k.

It also performs really well, according to RT reviews.

    • I was just looking at U7SAU, and for me, I think it'll easily be worth the extra $300. Especially as ours will be in a fairly well sunlit room. (Unless curtains drawn all day.)
It has far better brightness, a lot more dimming zones, better refresh rate, and a better anti glare screen.
Really, it's closer in specs to the C7L.

    • Comparable TCL to Hisense U7SAU will be TCL C7L.
My 85" U7SAU is getting delivered tomorrow.

  • The blatant price manipulation these guys do in the face of customers is amazing.
It was $1695 yesterday, they just marked it up by $500 to make it part of the promotion.
Suddenly, everyone starts to like it.

    • Was sceptical about your comment… until I did a quick search elsewhere.
It actually worries me at how many 'OzBargainers' have now upvoted this without even googling the price!

      • I will say that I usually assume for it to get posted that the OP and other commenters have vetted the deal, but considering how far down this comment is I will be more sceptical in future.

  • I was tempted to bite for my upcoming new house, but a very quick search revealed this…

    BigW / Woolworths Marketplace… $1764
I'm sure there's plenty of cashback deals, etc. you could get.

    Betta Electrical… same deal
Much rather use these guys than Gerry "I hate OzBargain" Harvey.

    Appliances Online… cheaper
No BS discount codes needed… Just the price it is!

    • None of those places are 10% off gift cards easily obtainable though, that's the deal really

    • Appliances Online… cheaper(appliancecentral.com.au)

Are you sure ApplianceCentral.com.au is same as AppliancesOnline.com.au ? seems like different company…

  • This or C8L 85inch for $2440?

    • No comparison in picture quality… if the budget allows.|
      But where is the 85" C8L $2440?

      • Oh okay thanks. I just asked for a price match then added the code.

        • Didn't think you could use codes with price-matched items? 🤷‍♂️

          • @Snoop: You can. In fact the JB online guy who I was chatting with added the TV500 code himself after price matching ! I did not even ask for it. You just need to find the right guy. Tomorrow is the last day. Head to your local JB store and they will do it for you.

    • C8L if you can afford it and are happy with size. However if you feel you may need 98 inch in a year, this is a good gap filler till 98 C8L are affordable.

      • Yeah good call. Bruh … such a big jump to 98 inch

    • C8L, if it is 85 inch, I would consider at least C7L. I've only seen C6K (last year's model) in real life and the VA panel isn't that great.

  • Assuming this is better than C7K? Recall buying C7K last year at this price but 75"

    • I doubt it's better than C7K. C7L and C7K are similar.

    • C7 is a tier above. C7K is better in most areas. The only area C6L is better is this year's model has 4 x HDMI 2.1 ports instead of 2 x HDMI 2.1 ports and 2 x HDMI 2.0 ports.

    • TCL is shit when it comes to customer service. They refused to replace my faulty C7K with the C7L. Only offering C6L as a 'like for like' goodwill replacement. Absolutely horrible.! Choose a different brand, if u want good service.

      • This was not the case for me. My 75 C7K was faulty with bad backlight and they replaced it with a new 75 C7L.. Delivered, installed it and took away packaging. Was great.

        • C7K is prone to failure is it!?

          • @neonlight: Bad speaker sound reverberation. Seemed like a common issue on reddit.

        • Love to know how u managed that? Who was your original retailer? Appreciate ur help.

  • Buy one of these for a chance to go to afl gf. Sheesh
    https://www.tcl.com/au/en/afl-grand-final-giveaway

  • Cheers op price matched C7L and $500 off, total with $59 del $2034

  • I went into the store to see the 75 C8L in action and found it horribly oversaturated. I assume it's the store setting it to Vivid mode or something…. Does anyone here have experience with this TV in their homes? Can this be fixed in the settings?
