  • Good for blending Spices or not?

    • Not really for that. Just get a cheap coffee grinder for that.

    • Plenty of YouTube videos demonstrating these things with all sorts of stuff. They perform better than you'd think but worse than you'd want.

I got the Ninja ones in previous deal to mix skim milk with protein powder but that's not really a stress test, could just shake those together. It is nice that it's portable though, don't have to stand in corner of kitchen to blend it saving me valuable seconds.

    • Get a proper spice blender from AliExpress. You can find great deals for around $50-60.
This looks like a toy compared to them.
      You can rotate while blending.
Far better than cheap coffee grinders too.

  • I tried the anko one and it just stopped blending when encountered with frozen berries and oats.

Hows anyones experience on the tougher side of foods with this one?

    • Reading the reviews things like oats and frozen berries will be a challenge with the less powerful blenders. Apparently you can use fresh berries instead of frozen, change how you layer your smoothie, or change the recipe overall to make it work however it is a lot less powerful.

      • The audacity of using ice in their pictures

        • Is there a portable ice maker to go with the portable blender?

    • Hard stuff won't work. But by the time I arrive at work, the berries are soft enough to blend.

      • Are you talking about the anko or this product?

        • Nutribullet portable.
Needs a stronger motor for hard ingredients.

          • @tikei: I have a ninja blast max and it blends ice like a champ. Different price bracket though.

    • They can't blend frozen stuffs unless you fill a lot of water/liquid. The same with the ninja one. Need at least 900w or more to blend frozen stuffs

  • What a stupid product. If you have to stack your blender with the berries and things before you leave home anyway, why wouldn’t you just blend at home and piff the smoothie into a thermos? Genuinely curious.

    • You don't have to clean the thermos

    • blending kiwifruit goes bad after a while.

    • We got a similar portable blender. We bring it on trips and sometimes to the kids sports. Charges in the car and fits in the cup holder, unlike our regular blender.

    • Generally wont have the same consistency after a few hours if you blended it in the morning then drank it hours later. Berries will stay fresh whole in the blender. Handy for on the move. Obviously a proper blender will do a better job. Probably worth paying a little more for something with a bit more power though than these.

    • I've been using this product for the last 3 years every morning. I stack all my dry ingredients the night before, then add water when I get to work. I don't do it at home because I don't want to wake everyone up.
      Not a stupid product.

      • Guessing underpowered for ice?

    • why wouldn’t you just blend at home and piff the smoothie into a thermos

      To avoid getting piffed out.

    • I use work milk. 80 cups of milk should break even the cost of this purchase.

    • Some things taste better freshly blended. Or maybe your partner is asleep when you'd like to blend a pre-gym smoothie, so you could blent it in the car. Battery gives you options. You can blend in a blackout. Blend some crushed ice and make some cocktails at the beach.

      • so you could blent it in the car

I feel their marketing department could use 'Get Blent' as an ironically agressive past-tense slogan

    • agreed, for the most part…this defineitley is at the top end of frivolous luxury items

those who have convinced themselves it is needed so as to not wake anyone pre dawn or that their precious nutri-goop will spoil after a few hours are blending the truth… and as for utilising it to pilfer 'work milk', you are clearly having a blend of your employer.

  • protein powder doesn’t have to be taken immediately, so you can wait until everyone wakes up

    • I am more worried about how much protein powder is left behind after the mix.

  • Wouldn't be too many watts and very limited, but if it encourages people to eat something other than ultra processed crap, then it's a good thing.

Probably worth paying more for a better non portable version, and or buy a stick mixer for $15.
