Haier 8kg 300 Series Heat Pump Dryer $629 (via Price Check Button) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys / $637 @ Harvey Norman

430

Similar to the Hisense $627 deal. I generally prefer Haier as a Brand, as they (Fisher & Paykel) offered good warranty service with our Haier fridge, compare the features and see which one is best for you though.

The price check button is beating Harvey norman with EXTRA20 20% off deal, that's another option if delivery is cheaper or stock is available there but not TGG.

Some people got this Haier model in the Hisense deal, when they ran out of stock and offered an alternative. Comment.

Heat pump dryer with 8kg capacity
8 star energy rating for efficiency
Allergy Care and Rack Dry options
14 drying cycles and sanitise option

Perfect for items that can’t be tumbled, the Rack Dry cycle lets you gently dry shoes, hats, jumpers, and delicates using a specially designed rack that fits inside the drum.

  • Can someone recommend a good Washer dryer combo?

    • News to me that that even exists as they've always been separate appliances.

      • Those are awful in general. Use a shittonne of water for the wash dry cycle.

        • They don't use any more water compared to the same equivalent appliances

          • @spaceflight: Thats not true. Heat pump dryers or vented dryers don't use water when drying. That said there are newer models with heat pumps in them, but the vast majority of what we know as washer dryers use water cooled condensors to dry the clothes.

A typical washer dryer uses 50L of water for the drying cycle.

A washer/dryer combo does not use more water just because it is a combo.

It will use the same amount of water as a seperate washer and condenser dryer.

              • @spaceflight: Respectfully, what the (profanity) are you on about? A condenser dryer isn’t connected to water. A washer dryer on the drying function uses water.

                • @ATangk:

A condenser dryer isn’t connected to water.

There is such a thing as a water cooled condenser dryer, my old Bosch was one of them

                • @ATangk: As your link even says

Typically in separate condenser dryers, cool air is used to cool down

                  Typically is not always.

You can even click on the link to condenser dryers and read

In some designs, cold water is used in the heat exchanger,

Just because you don't know something doesn't exist doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

                  • @spaceflight: Maybe because currently sold vented and heat pump dryers don't use cold water. No point comparing some technology 99% of dryers dont feature.

Unless of course your old model was a washer dryer which is exactly what we're avoiding here.

                    • @ATangk: Which is why I said they don't use any more water compared to the same equivalent appliances.

Not everyone has a brand new air cooled condenser dryer.

Unless of course your old model was a washer dryer

                      It wasn't.
I hope that doesn't disappoint you.

      • That's surprising

The first washer-dryer combination unit was introduced by Bendix Home Appliances in late 1952 and released as the "Duomatic" in 1953.

    • There aren't any good ones.
Whatever you do, don't get a Hisense i8 Washer Dryer. The problem with a lot of the washer dryer is the dryer function is tiny and it uses water during the drying function. When it breaks your clothes come out more wet then then it was washed. Had this problem on the Electrolux 900 washer dryer.

You can't get this on a dryer alone.

    • I have a Miele WTR870WPM. It's a fantastic washer dryer combo. I had seperate machine and heat pump dryer that i had to downsize for my tiny apartment.
Bought it at Miele Clearance Centre for $2500 with 10 year warranty (RRP $4299 + $650 10 year warranty)

    • Except space is really limited or washer and dryer can’t be stacked for some reason, I wouldn’t recommend 2 in 1.
Their energy rating usually worse and less efficient, anything goes wrong mean both washer and dryer gone (yeah, more parts in one machine means more problems), if you have multiple washes and dry = you can’t do it at the same time after first wash.
I prefer stack my dryer on top the washer, 2 separate machines working at the same time (ie washing all rooms bedsheets, blankets or after holiday)

    • Bosch are going to be releasing a washer dryer combo with a heat pump for drying early next year.

If you don't want to wait the are others available now like the

    • Hisense 12kg/8kg Heat pump dryer combo. Cheap to run, highly efficient. Water and Washing Energy gets 5 star rating, drying energy has 8 star. HCF8I1215HB
Tons of programs and you can alter them as needed. Auto dispensing liquid detergent and softener or manually put in powder. Multiple dry levels available. Also connects to ConnectLife via wifi so you can set favourite programs with the settings you want and receive notifications for when it finishes, detergent being low or filter being full.

For an example, I put in a large load of towels and clothes to wash and dry yesterday. Takes ages and can't trust the initial ending time estimate as it recalculates as it goes. I used the Cotton program, cold water, 2 rinses and Cupboard Dry settings. It took 1.3kWh and 56.3L of water.

There's also an AI SuperWash option where it decides settings based on sensors but I find that it uses a lot more energy and water than other programs I've tried.

      • Wow, I am sold 😁

        • Obviously wait for a decent special as it’s almost $2k full price but it is a good washer & dryer. No regrets in buying it.

The lint filter looks tiny compared to old stand alone heat pump dryer, but most lint seems to go down the drain as I rarely get full filter notifications while a program is still running. And my towels are new enough to shed a lot.

  • Does this reverse the rotation?

    • It tries to, but only in Summer. That's why days get longer.

      • I love it!

  • If you are in VIC, you might claim $70 as per https://www.energy.vic.gov.au/victorian-energy-upgrades/prod…

  • Hailer is bad support brand ! Took 2 months to replace a DOA washing machine - that was flooding the laundry.
Machine is good after replacement but if I had known the pain I would have to go through I would have just gone with some Aldi brand.

    • Most of these companies are literally the same. I purchased an Hisense 8i 12/8 washer dryer and that was dead on delivery. You need to waste to 2 to 3 months to get them to refund the entire unit. Hisense was waiting on their repairer to inspect. Inspect was waiting on Hisense to authorised the repair parts. It was only after speaking to my friend who repairs these units who told me there no such parts. The entire unit has to be replaced. Then complained and got told this can only be done via email. So authorisation for refund or replacement can only be done via email so a fair question has to be asked why bother calling. Note l asked for refund to begin with.

Something to note. The manufacturer replacing the unit does not extend warranty period. If they waste 3 months of your time that is 3 months lost on your warranty. If the retailer replaced the unit the warranty starts at the date they replace. Most manufacturers will replace unit directly instead of arranging the replace with the retailer. Always demand a replace from retailer instead or manufacturers or ask for a refund. Once the retailer get the paperwork your be asked if you want a refund or replacement.

Note warranty can not exclude a person right under consumer law. However, it is easier to get a warranty claim process with the manufacturer then an acl claim. Most acl claims require small claims court.

  • Just got Appliances Online to beat even that when factoring delivery costs from Good Guys/Harvey Norman for me. $655 delivered, vs $688/$685.80 from GG/HN respectively. Thanks for this deal, kind of glad I'd put off getting a dryer for a bit.

    • Would you be able to share a picture of the quote (maybe in a DM)?

For me they said they can only match $685.80.

      • I agree most of the time they only match. I've only been able to get Good Guys to get me a cheaper deal.

Note Good Guys and JB are the same company.

      • If you haven’t purchased it yet, Appliance online is currently doing some 7th birthday promotion where you can get $70 off $700 or more. The Haier is on sale for $659 right now, I just added a $56 stacking matt to access the $70 discount and it ended up being $645 delivered.

Paid for it with my Westpac altitude to get the 2 years extended warranty. Pretty happy!

  • Thanks OP, used the $20 voucher from this Deal and 4% discounted GC. $585 all up.
Will be replacing an Aldi heat pump dryer that broke after 3 years.

  • I got the Haier HDHPS80KW1 dryer with Haier HWF85KW1 washing machine with compatible ASKSNW1 stacking kit. The kit requires screwing on top of the washer but there are no holes. How do I screw it on?
